  1. I've done simple basic maintenance for many years and not had a failure. A complete tear-down may not be necessary.
  2. As a kid, we saved up for an Ugly stick then we graduated to a lightning rod and thought we were Doug Hannon. As a kid, I could break any rod......and reel. ?
  3. I use nothing but suspending Jerkbaits during cold water, short jerks....... very clear water here. Aggressive top water during warmer months.
  4. Oh no, once I got married that gave us someone to meet us at the pickup point. And she was there spot on everytime. We didn't have cell phones back then but she knew what time it was ?
  5. It's the timing of the loss. If you lose late in the year the likelihood of being leapfroged by a lesser team is more prominent. Then there's the Saben factor because of his legacy.
  6. Now if TCU loses to Kstate I could easily see. 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama???? Say it isn't so.
  7. I'm well aware of the Nick Saben legacy but there's absolutely no way does Bama hop Ohio State with 2 losses. A USC loss doesn't mean an Alabama win. ?
  8. Luck E Strike
  9. First thing I do when unpackaging a jig is sharpen the hook, trim the skirt and weed guard. I can't speak for the fish but it looks more inticing this way.
  10. I keep track of water temps and struggle mightily to catch Largemouth bass under 45* water temps and it's every year. This past winter after a few warm days, had an epic day on orange and brown jigs, water temp 47*. Jerkbaits have also done well in colder water temps here........ above 45 ?
  11. I take the fish anyway if they are dieing, just seems right to me, my taste buds are more important than a snapping turtle ? Haven't seen DNR around here in 20 years.
  12. Remember my Dad many years ago dumping coke all over his windshield claiming it removes tree sap. I can also see it removing a fishes slime coat. This thread is the first I've seen where a product is offered to " fix a fish on the fly " , interesting. If I know a fish isn't going to make it, usually gill damage, the best I can do is eat it.
  13. I believe the squealing that braid makes going through the guides triggers the fishes predator drive. ? It's really about confidence though, if you feel the need to experiment with a quieter line and feel it may produce more fish then give it a go.......and report back. I personally like the characteristics of braid and when I deem necessary, will add a flouro leader. If you go straight fluorocarbon make sure it's a quality line, don't skimp as it'll make a huge difference in your experience.
  14. This past year I moved alot, meaning mostly moving baits. Never threw a Ned or a Texas rig. I got a boat load of soft plastics and aim to slow down and get some of those wet. My go to " slow down " technique in 2022 was drop-shot roboworms so that'll certainly be in the mix moving forward. Good question by the way ?
  15. Heck, didn't even realize it was black Friday until it passed. BUT driving to the city next week to Bass Pro which has a negative influence on the wallet.
  16. Jigs did everything this past winter. Guessing I'll throw them again this winter.
  17. Wonder how far OSU will drop and with the other big losses yesterday, will the committee put Saben in ?? They always seem to get in. Anyway, great win for Michigan.

Been deer hunting for close to 50 years and have been quite particular the last 20 and would take that buck.......nice simetrical rack. Nice shot and congrats.
  19. You'll be fine as long as there aren't any Zman elaztech left in the mix for long.

    Thankyou, that's it ?

Can't remember who sang the song " time marches on " but it certainly has. We were once close to 20 people at the Thanksgiving table. Today it was 9 but still very thankful. Oh is 62 an old person ? Lol
  22. Straight facts
  23. Mahomes only needed 13 seconds last year. Lol
  24. Top 3 bass caught this year were on swim jigs. Top producer by an astounding margin was Spinnerbaits. Keitech swimbaits on underspins were also surprisingly productive. When I slowed way down, drop-shot roboworms did the trick.
