  1. Nice fish anywhere. AND great pic......looks 8.9 in the pic. Lol
  2. This is largely the way I approach it. If I'm fishing a bank with an abundance of cover, usually catch an abundance of Bass.
  3. Dak crumbles on the big stage. Early SB prediction......Bills 31 Bucs 27
  4. My long time fishing partner and I have always shied away from the longer rod movement. Skipping docks and precision casting, I do much better with shorter rods.
  5. When the wife and I lived in town, she bought some kind of fancy knife set and also a Kirby. Lol Living up on the mountain the last 18 years, we've not had a single uninvited guest. If we did, I'd certainly be polite but definitely would not buy a sales pitch.
  6. My last fishing kayak had a motor drive but always carried a telescoping emergency paddle and had to use it.
  7. Will certainly pray for you and your wife.
  8. A drop in water temp is good for fishing when it's hot. I race to the lake after a hard thunderstorm in the heart of summer.
  9. I would have easily gave $150 for the last stinch if you patched the drywall. ? Wife and I held our breath going downstairs.
  10. What do you do about baby mice dieing in your walls when you catch momma and papa? It stinks!!!!!! We live in the mountains and constantly battle mice...... it's getting old.
  11. This is the greatest fishing story I've heard on BassResource. The fact that you had so much empathy for the fish and it's preservation trumps anything I've heard.
  12. What size hook are you trying to set ?
  13. It really has been brutal. Fishing in the morning with plans to be back home by 10am. Oh, near 100* this weekend ?
  14. I can certainly agree with this. Have a vivid memory of mom in the kitchen canning while listening to either Tom Jones or George Jones on a record player. This was in the 60's and has me thinking that those were the only records she owned. Lol
  15. Factor in age and lack of flexibility. Did the fishing kayaks and struggled mightily. Can't reach anything behind seat and the advertisement of standing is exaggerated, very unbalanced. Young? Yes I can see the appealing effect but standing is exaggerated period.
  16. So the fish hit and moved 50 feet and hit again....... interesting. Just proves we will never figure out bass behavior.
  17. Why not simply crop the photo below 1.46 ? Fastest, Simplist method I've found. FB ? Nadda
  18. It does work and I do get bored with it.
  19. I wish everyone a great retirement, it's everything I intisipated and more. Was fortunate enough to retire at 58 and being married to a financial advisor certainly helped. My issue was never stress but rather being married to my job. I simply wanted to work 7 days a week without any balance in life which did create regrets regarding family but thankfully that's been restored. The most important factor to keep prioritized after retirement is your health....... keep moving and live a healthy lifestyle and you'll reap the benefits of years of hard labor ?
  20. Very well said which makes me stumble to respond. Lol Enjoyment trump's all and simply progress from there. Oh, my wife does quite well with bobber and worm.
  21. If you don't mind wearing a sombrero pulled down low, the clip-ons may suffice for the time being. But down the road definitely consider prescription, you won't regret it.
  22. I've not had good success with clip-ons, glare being the biggest issue. Assuming you wear prescription glasses, then prescription polarized sunglasses will out perform any other option. The part you don't want to hear....... costly.
  23. Bird replied to BassNJake's topic in Everything Else
    What a nightmare.
  24. This may sound elementary but put on a pair of polarized sunglasses and cast into the dark green holes.
  25. I cut the barb and usually saves the fish. Get rid of the barb and the hook is more manageable to remove.
