  1. No, I can't beat that one. I have many I could share but they'd disappoint in comparison.
  2. I have no goals or expectations with bass fishing but stay highly motivated. Pure enjoyment and relaxation is what keeps me going.
  3. Drop-shot hook? Actually the kitchen is where I mess with tackle quite a bit for additional lighting......when the wife is working of course.
  4. Looks like a pretty big hit, hope your doing ok.
  5. The wind has been crazy. Had a tree blow over in the driveway and power has been out for several hours. Have the generator running the wood boiler. Oh, 15* tonight.
  6. I need to be more open minded regarding my DS as I tend to get tunnel vision. Thinking finesse with little red circle hooks and a skinny Roboworm. I'm liking the replies.
  7. Hmmm, I'm only using a leader on spinning gear......15# Power Pro to 8# Sunline sniper and always retain the leader or in the case of the Ned rig, a straightened hook.
  8. I use straight braid for every moving bait. Forgot to mention, another advantage to using a leader is when you get hung, the line always breaks at the hook leaving behind the leader to be reused. I like the Alberto knot.
  9. Love the no stretch, no memory characteristics of braid which makes for longer casts. Most of the water I fish is gin clear so using a fluorocarbon leader gives me a little more confidence when using bottom contact, finesse type presentation.

Oh no, i don't do fast food. But I'll eat 2 ribeye steaks smothered in Lowry's and 3 glasses of red wine......very health conscious here.
  11. I use braid on every outfit, some straight and some with a Flouro leader.
  12. Pre-spawn is a simple game plan but after that I stick with the same regime. Start out power fishing, covering water " early morning " with top water, buzzbaits, ploppers and spooks. Always have a spinnerbait tied on. I'm basically moving fairly quickly picking up active fish. Then I slow way down giving my arms a break and move on to slower presentations and look for cover. I may hang out at 1 submerged tree for 30 minutes or more working something T-rig. And finally start reading the graph and looking for channels and fish. Really enjoy vertical fishing the drop-shot mid day. Really enjoy the diversity of bass fishing.
  13. I have 12 lakes that I fish annually, some more than others. I don't have to say a word as it's obvious that other fisherman know of my favorite spots. It's a matter of who gets on the water first.
  14. I get more excited recieving a new reel or rod vs a lure but tying on a new lure to a new baitcaster is the cats meow. Lol
  15. I must be doing somping wrong/right. Idk 4 baitcasters running 20# Power pro and never experienced digging. I do however use my net handle for break offs.
  16. Yes, well said. It's never a good idea to run a trolling motor for long periods on the highest setting. I've actually melted the wires on one fighting wind and had to be towed back to the ramp. BUT, you can run infinitely on lower settings without depleting the battery, as you said.
  17. I take atorvastivin for cholesterol and my BP averages 137/97 but feel incredibly good on a daily basis, high energy, no headache or shortness of breath. Idk I'm not a worry wort so whatever. Lol
  18. For bow mount, simply wire the male plug into trolling motor, plug and play.
  19. 55lb endura Maxx 36"shaft with a group 27 battery, you'll never run out of juice. On the Raider, much prefer the motor on the bow with the head spun and battery in the stern.
  20. Congrats, hope the girls do well in the league.
  21. 90% of my casting reels are straight Power Pro braid 20# for moving baits. My Jerkbait setup has a 6ft Flouro leader of Sunline sniper attached via Alberto. I've not experienced any of the issues that are brought up from time to time with using straight braid and casting gear.......feel somewhat discriminated against. Lol
  22. Back when we used all fluorocarbon we'd unspool most of it and give it a good stretch and wind it back up. This would alleviate memory.
  23. Can you give more detail about your impressions of the halftime show ? Lol Yes I'm an instigator ?
  24. Wow, my heart rate is climbing due to all the rodent damage I've experienced. You have to kill them, trap them, poison them. NO product under the sun will repel them, tried every single one to no avail, seriously. You simply can't leave a vehicle sit for long periods.....mice and chipmunks invade and then come the snakes. Not going into a long winded post but I've literally had mice and snakes crawling around the floorboard on my way to work because my truck sat for a week.
