  1. I almost bought a glass rod but it was white. Lol
  2. Now if we could rephrase this to WHAT steady retrieve baits do you throw the most ? I've got enough miles on a Spinnerbait to require an oil change. Lol
  3. Was under the impression that 1 meal a day was a no no. Seems I read that it actually slows metabolism.
  4. Crankbaits would be last choice to throw all the time. I like throwing to cover and vegetation.
  5. Biggest issue I've had with 2 piece rods is having them separate at the ferrel while fishing......then SNAP.
  6. I drive 2 hours to fish our big lake and then drive home that evening. If I plan to fish a lake for several days which I do often, I bring the wife, dog and RV.
  7. My wife's mom and Dad had a place in Mobile Alabama for many years and we visited them often. I fished every visit, some guided and encountered many gators and came to the conclusion that they are non confrontational creatures. Their appearance perhaps gives them a bad reputation but actually a placid creature. Salt water Crocs?? No way !
  8. All the water I fish is gin clear and suspending jerkbaits are dynamite during prespawn. I mainly throw Luck E Strike in only 2 colors. Bone for overcast and clear with blue back on sunny days. The fish seem to prefer a simple sweep of the rod, enough to get the bait to wobble and move forward say 2 feet and pause. Jerkbaits can catch fish year around here and I like to move to top water versions in warmer months and work them much more aggressively with hardly a pause. Oh, and give me water like glass.

My graph experienced interference when I ran it with trolling motor battery.
  10. Love the diversity here. 3/8 - 1/2 Spinnerbaits thrown on 20# Power pro braid....... yes the violin is sweet.
  11. 73* here today and snow Wednesday but I'm at least catching Crappie. ?
  12. Live in a rural area so online mostly. I did make the 90 minute drive to the city recently and grabbed a Lew's custom at BPS. Now comes the good news. A new tackle shop opened 35 minutes north of here and the owner is an avid bass fisherman. He carries a large selection of Dobyns, st croix and many others so I definitely prefer to support locally and small business.....next purchase will be HANDS ON.
  13. You are one fortunate fellow. Many years ago had a friend die instantly when a 2" nut fell from the top of a silo and struck him on top of Head.
  14. Definitely sad ☹️. Just last Wednesday a buddy of mine and I were fishing out of his Bass boat, water temp was 41*, air temp mid 60's. I yelled up to the bow for him to put his PFD on and he wasn't to excited about the idea. I told him then to do it for me so I'm not battling his big behind while he's dealing with hypothermia......he put it on.
  15. If finesse fishing is defined by a slow presentation then many baits would be exempt, baits like buzzbaits in particular. Where is the line drawn if finesse is considered technique? I consider a 1/8 weight on a drop-shot throwing a 4" Roboworm on light tackle finesse. Now we bump up the weight to 1/2oz and nose hook a Magnum fluke shouldn't it fall out of the finesse catagory even though it's a drop-shot ? Idk For my simple mind and historically, the term finesse is considered small profile baits on light tackle.
  16. If you have a power fishing mentality, then you may grow impatient with wacky...... it's slow fall rate unless you go with a jig weight. I'd classify it it as a finesse technique otherwise.
  17. This is from a tree stand and ain't seeing any deer. Lol
  18. Wow, that lake has been productive........here come the boats. Lol
  19. A lake I fish in WV " Stonewall " not only prohibits fishing around the Marina but prohibits all fishing beyond the Marina, the entire upper section of lake. I'm guessing this is to eliminate congestion in the no wake zone.
  20. If I'm skipping docks, Wacky is all I use. A wacky rigged senko skips better than any bait I've tried. Day in day out, hard to beat a Texas rig worm though.
  21. This is informative and spot on. I can only efficiently walk a bait while standing with rod tip down. I can do it sitting but not nearly as well.

If I don't feel like driving to the tackle shop then Amazon it is......2 days shipped to the wife's office and occasionally get the next day.
  23. I visited the tropics quite a bit before that stuff started and the fishing was phenomenal but still prefer Bass fishing over salt water. Most of the natives laugh at Bass fishing.
  24. It's amazing the amount of different excercises you employ as apposed to my regimen but also understand the term " muscle memory ". Currently working out 1 hr 5 X per week but only utilizing 7 different upper body exercises in that span.
