Smoking meat and even vegetables is a weekly event here. I prefer Apple wood but won't run from Cherry, hickory or Oak. Deer is on the smoker as we speak. Sounds like some good eating Saturday, enjoy.
  4. We're supposed to be in mid 60's tomorrow and been itching to go but my girls are coming in from out of town for Turkey and deer tenderloin. All my gear is sit'n in the garage waiting but thinking the wife will say it's inconsiderate to go fishing on Thanksgiving day......not that I ask. Lol

  6. My last fishing trip before deer season started I caught 7 on a Ned, all smaller than yours but had fun.
  7. Friend of mine dug a small pond in his backyard and was his intention to wait a year before stocking it with fingerlings. Well, it somehow stocked itself with bluegill. He still might have to stock it cause the blue Herron are indulging.
  8. You say'n I'm wimpy ? Lol
  9. I'm still gonna try to get out after Thanksgiving but it better be nice.
  10. Not necessary to match diameter as your still contending with a knot, bigger the diameter the bigger the knot.
  11. I'm 15# Power pro to 8# Sunline sniper on spinning and use Alberto knot.
  12. Thankyou and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
  13. I heard it scares a lot of fish but fishing in AC would be nice.
  14. Gone are the days this division terrorized the rest of the league. Now they're simply considered a bye week. BUT, 6 - 10 could easily win this division so Eagles still alive.

What's worse than moving yourself ? Is owning a truck and trailer and having friends and family that like to move a lot. Hope it works out for ya'.
  16. I'm hearing Briery creek is still producing shallow from a friend, he was throwing Zoom flukes. I did good throwing Jigs in the trees last time there. Hit it.....we've been mild.
  17. Yep, not close to 7 lbs but pretty fish nonetheless. Exaggeration is common place among hunters and fishermen but it's all in good fun. Let my cousin hunt behind the house this year and he claims he saw a whitetail buck that looked like it had a step latter turned upside down on it's head.....right.
  18. November is Reserved for hunting then back out in December but pick my days wisely, can't fish with frozen fingers.....January and February are a wash. Pre-spawn has always been my favorite time to fish, bigger ones end up in the boat.
  19. Retired in 2020, an epic moment in life which led to best year of fishing. 2021 is a new year, make the most of it.
  20. Slow-rollin' just sounds cool.....you know, hat backwards " this is how we roll". Lol Only bait that I slow roll is a spinnerbait.
  21. Sometime in early 70's my mom bought me a rabbit foot for good luck. Got beat up and then had it taken by big kid in school while showing it off........I stay away from charms, they don't work.
  22. Nice video. I did get my wife into fishing years ago but she developed a trait that didn't sit well with me. She wanted to eat every single fish she and I caught so I introduced her to the kitchen. She loves being on the water and I enjoy her company so nowadays I simply pull her kayak behind my boat while she reads......when she's not in the kitchen.
  23. I fish by myself 99% of the time so have nothing to compare to.....comforting.
  24. I've always been an early riser, I'm actually hyper and have to get up, wife complains. Doesn't really matter whether I'm hunting or fishing, up early.
  25. Shot this today in 70 degree weather
