Thinner line can be cast further?
I'd say the heavier the weight being casted the tighter the gap becomes with distance when comparing braid to Flouro or mono in the same diameter. I believe if you took the exact same rod and reel and casted a 1/16 jig head you'd see braid excel because of lack of memory, diameter would be secondary in this case.

You ever misplaced any tackle?
Very organized fisherman here so can't recall misplacing but breaking stuff I do and lost quite a bit of tackle from boat rollovers. I'm way to forgetful to be unorganized.

This site has the best people!
This is indeed an outstanding forum with very knowledgeable members. This is my only fishing resource. I too am a member of a few other forums that I have interests in and blows me away how another member 1000 miles away can rattle their cage and perhaps ruin their day by typing a reply. Lol

PowerPro Braid 50lb - Spooling issues?
Try it and see how you like it. 20# power pro works well for my spinning reels, most are 3000 series.

PowerPro Braid 50lb - Spooling issues?
Don't think your going to be a fan of 50# braid on spinning tackle. Save it and reel it off onto a baitcaster and make it your frog rig.

Buzzbait
I don't believe Flouro would present any issues with a buzzbait as it's a simple bait to use......get it up on plane. Ideally, a decent retrieve rate baitcaster would be choice and would hide perceived shortcomings of Flouro. Imo

Is it true that after June Smallmouth move to 20-25 ft of water?
I fish river smallmouth the same way from spring to fall.....eddies, large rocks, ledges, below Rapids, transition swirls, wood in various depths. They are just trying to stay wet.

Giving props to our southern anglers!
When you get up in age you welcome the heat, good for the joints. Lol We're having a surprisingly hot early summer , consistent 90's here in VA but keeping my mouth shut.

Quarry lakes
Yes, you can use top water baits a long the banks. See if you can locate the road once used by equipment. The VERY clear water quarry I use to fish, they held tight to the banks and we'd catch them on Zoom lizards " cotton candy chartreuse " , consistently.

Topwater Bite
No better way to start an early morning than top water. Buzzbaits seem to always draw attention but really had quite a bit of action from plopper 90 past couple of months. Can't really speak of mid day bite as I'm long gone by then due to the Superbowl crowds.?

A Slap in the Face
The frustration comes from the greed to harvest that many bass, understandable. The fact that you provided the resources for this greed to flourish is also frustrating. In other words , I get your frustration.

Bear Encounters While Fishing
Living in a county with one of the highest black bear populations in the state of Va and being an avid hunter and backpacker has given the opportunity for many bear encounters. My Border collie has treed several over the years in the back yard, entertaining. A wild black bear in my experience is very fearful of human interaction and while they deserve respect, offer no threat. When humans feel the need to feed them, they become a nuisance. I will not fish where brown/grizzly bears exist. Lol Here's a rather large bear in the back yard last year.
