Throwing weightless
Your absolutely right. I need to just do this anyway.. Always tell myself I need to work on things at the lake when anywhere is fine.

My youngest .. than and now.
Ahhh the old Polaroid ..nice.

Throwing weightless
Wind not the factor.. I think being in the kayak sitting so much and having the low Trajectory is it.. than going to the bank it’s screwing me up . It’s in my release just need to figure it out. Throw a weight on it and it’s back to normal.

My youngest .. than and now.
Thanks for all the kind words.. it’s still tough.. the youngest comes out with me more since we got the kayaks.. my 22 yr old I still tell him get your license and lets go.. I think he’s embarrassed of having to learn at 22., heck I’m still learning after years . Hopefully he will get past it and give it a shot.. I think it would do him good as he over thinks everything.. go out and relax .. learn and clear your mind.. does me good going out and turning everything else off for a couple hours.

Throwing weightless
Sitting .. only stand to site fish.. setting a hook standing in my yak means I’m going for a swim lol.

Throwing weightless
From my kayak my accuracy is fine tossing weightless plastics, but yesterday from the bank I was beside myself tossing a weightless wacky rigged senko. Any cast was no where near my target...going way farther left than intended or airborn half the time. I'm just at water level. its like going from my yak in a sitting position to the bank standing screws up my mechanics. It is not my rod's action/tip.

The benefit of crowded waters...
Couple cranks.. if I put my yak on one lake I bank fish from could load up on weights ,hooks and plastics swinging from branches.

Elbow Fatigue
I can try it.. but like I said it’s beginning of season it happens, it’s fine now .

Elbow Fatigue
I get struck with this beginning of every pre spawn.. hurts to point have a problem picking almost anything up and it will last for months.. I don’t know if it’s my technique or my arm just isn’t used to the motion from winter break from fishing but it eventually goes away , But after a couple months.

Summer fishing is tough!
Recently I’ve had better luck mid day at my local lake. I’m always on the water by at least 6am typically getting that topwater bite,, but lately the bite as come more mid day when they are tucked up in the shade under cover and just tossing the old wacky rig. Yesterday prime example. Both my son and I .. no bites til the sun got hot.. we worked opposite side of lake working multiple rigs.. met back up around 11:30.. no action..both switched up and just used wacky rig ..at this point was getting hot, we went back up side of lake he just worked and the bite was on for both of us right up against the bank .Some times that simple wacky rig just beats everything.. crawl bait this, fancy over priced jig that .. than u have this what probably is just this most annoying action of that simple wacky rigged worm bopping around them . They may not be hungry so they don’t want that crawl bait or the jig with that skirt and appendages hanging out the end. But the annoying thing ticks them off and they hit it. All water ways tell a different story while similar or oddly different.. this has been this lakes story lately.

Need to carry 4-6 rods, who has tried this?
I use the Rod Runner as well. I get asked multiple times a week about it. Great investment.

My youngest .. than and now.
Image on right was his first time out with me as a lil man.. image on left now at 19 as we checked out a lake we were never at during pre-spawn...

7’2 rod Power/Action vs Line weight casting
Where do I start? It's not a quality rod.. You get what you pay for, although we all know there is over priced units out there. Guess I'll be looking at St.Croix, Dobyns or maybe something else in the Favorite line up. $200-250 range give or take... maybe go up in length 7'4 ,, 7'6 max

7’2 rod Power/Action vs Line weight casting
Yeah I think I'm trying to kill to many birds with one stone. The 2 rods I have been bouncing back and forth between for frogging is a 7'2 Medium Heavy Favorite Big Sexy(paired with a Daiwa HLC) which I love and a 7'2 Heavy Favorite White Bird (paired with a Daiwa Elite)which is my problem as its a $69 rod.. Wifey got it for me so in dire need of new Heavy rod to pair with the Daiwa Elite.. The choices is what kills me and I go batty looking at specs as there really isn't anyplace to get my hands on them..

7’2 rod Power/Action vs Line weight casting
But what about Power? Heavy vs medium heavy in general.. I know the characteristics.. so I'm sure its seems odd asking for opinion but basically what happens when I start re-evaluating my rigs and how I use them and start shopping for another rod my mind goes full "What chew Talking about Willis"(showing my age there ,80's sitcoms)lol.

7’2 rod Power/Action vs Line weight casting
I say 7’2 as obviously rod length comes into play .. so let’s stick to 7’2 rod length in reference to incoming opinion . Lets use a frog rod as a example.. throwing a hollow body frog. Does power /action or line weight make more of the difference when it comes to casting distance. They both play a part but which has more effect?

Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke ~ Know the Signs
Stuff is no joke.. 2 years ago now was laid up for 5 days. Thought I was drinking enough.. was told some of my bodies reaction was intaking to much ice water while I was out in the excessive heat. Moderately cold is best.. slamming ice water does more harm.

Braid 15 to 40lb
The age old question but not finding that much specifically .. I use 15 to 20lb braid now.. lately been fishing a lake with a massive lily pad field that is very thick with nice pockets... so yup dig in issues on hook set and hauling them back thru and waiting for line to snap. From my kayak I am bombing and reeling back pocket to pocket with a Frog.. using a 7'2 heavy fast with Curado dc. Jumping to a 40lb line or even 65 what am I am going to lose roughly 30' casting distance for a ballpark guess? Yes we all know there are factors in this I am just asking a rough guess. "Just" as a example if I'm sending it 130' on 20lb should I expect roughly 100' on 40lb.

For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
1. Trash left behind by well I would presume trashy people. 2. People (except for the angler that walks past and respects I’m already there.. maybe a quick chat and moves on. 3. When there is to scum on the water and no where to go. 4. People... again
