  1. Yeah that may not be from fanning ... nice bass. I havent seen them get that bright around here
  2. That and dragging a speaker magnet across the carpet are my signature moves
  3. Looks good. I'll def look for something similar as well $30 is steep for what it is ... this looks promising
  4. I just pulled up the schematics ... the design is interesting. Typically reels have a spring under the drag star to keep tension on it so that it doesn't easily change settings, this reel doesn't have that.
  5. I believe there should be an o-ring on the cap to keep it from moving too freely
  6. Yeah that's definitely something different ...
  7. It honestly sounds like a non-issue to me. Does it turn freely as long as there is enough drag pressure to turn the spool?
  8. Can you turn the worm gear by hand when the drag is super loose?
  9. Resistance how? As in the handle doesn't spin freely if you slap it? Or as in its actually difficult to reel? If the first, it shouldn't spin as freely because when the drag is completely loose, what's happening is the keyed washer is sliding on the drag washer and not engaging the main gear which creates some resistance. When the drag is increased, the keyed washer is not sliding, but engaging the main gear and spinning it and the pinion and worm gear along with it. The main gear has more mass than the keyed washer and less friction so if you slap the handle it turns easier and for longer. I may have misunderstood your question though ...
  10. If it must be unbalanced I'll take light rod/heavy reel over heavy rod/light reel 100% of the time
  11. This man is living in 2031 while the rest of us suckers are stuck in 2021
  12. #3 black/yellow *et but if you're headed the Mepps route, a #3 dressed Black Fury in yellow (not chartreuse) cant be beat
  13. I think the issue is with the casting of the inner part the spool lip rides on or the spool lip itself. I had the same issues with a Fuego and exchanged twice with no change. I decided to swap spools with another Fuego and ended up with two quiet reels.
  14. ^ if you intend on moving any baits with the reel I would avoid the 8x:1 reels
  15. A girdle bug on a sink tip line is good as well
  16. Whats the price youre getting it at? You should be able to get a Fuego for about 70-80
  17. What noise are you referring to? All my reels sound pretty similar when casting. I wouldn't swap reels based on that alone. Maybe add a drop of oil to the spool bearings? Anyhow only thing I can say about the reels you mentioned is I personally wouldn't go for the Curado K for throwing weightless plastics.
  18. For the type of fishing I do it likely doesn't matter but it would be interesting to see how many big fish (10+ lbs) are caught with straight braid vs flouro
  19. What technique do you plan on using the rod for? Lews Carbon Fires are pretty good all around rods
  20. Probably, based on the fact that you're losing faith in plain lead ... do they really make a difference? I doubt it
  21. I can see that happening if its not seated properly and the top foot slides out placing all stress on the lower foot ... although honestly even then the rod would go first I would imagine.
  22. I know I'm the minority on this but I don't place quite the emphasis on spinning reel sizes as on casting. I prefer slightly large spinning reels as I feel that they help minimize line tangles and help with further casting. So to answer, no.
