  1. I’d be skint and filleted in 5 seconds
  2. @Bluebasser86 what was your thoughts of, comparison to Spro, of the Savage Gear Rat you posted about buying several year ago?
  3. Fish just after daybreak and the hour before dark. Try the Ned rig. Try a weightless GYCB Senko. Take up golf if that fails.
  4. It’s like I told my brother when he wanted to stop drinking, nobody likes a quitter!! You need to invest in a new technique or lures and mix it up. Hit up new places. In all my hobbies I am constantly doin things for the first time. I have been a bow hunter killing deer for over 20 years and have never used the same equipment 2 years in a row. Mixing it up keeps it new and exciting for me.
  5. Is anybody doin any ratting? A-Jay have you served up any rat meat to the fish recently? As y’all saw in the fishing report I’ve been catching lots of small guys and my biggest on the rat so I’m riding the rat high currently and excited for an evening bite. Looking to see some rat caught bass pics you guys are catching.
  6. I’ve had good luck with the Spro Rat 30 and 40, and today I will start using the size 50 I have. I have never had one of the handmade wooden single joint rat but I’d like to have one. To those that have used both what is the difference or benefit you have noticed with a wooden custom rat compared to a Spro? I would be interested in a rat both with and without a lip. I find that twitching my Spro Rats and getting bit on the pause up to 15 seconds is the norm for me. Whose Rat would you suggest for my style of ratting?
  7. When I was a kid there was a farm pond I fished that became covered in a solid green mat. I would use the lightest lure I could use and still be able to drag across the mat. The bass would bust through taking whatever was crossing the mat. Like a spider and web.
  8. Caught my biggest bass this evening. Spro rat 40 in morning dawn. Caught 4 in all and this bass got in heavy vegetation and hung up so I had to get in belly deep to save record and lure ?
  9. Very nice bubba!! Get to work on us a big bass painting!! Very nice bubba!! Get to work on us a big bass painting!!
  10. Zoom Dead Ringer is another good one. Caught this one this evening on a green pumpkin and 1/4 oz bullet weight. Tail covered in chartreuse garlic spike it.
  11. Have a look at AC Shiners balsa prop models for something different. Other than that if you throw a pop max, Rico, shower blow and a whopper plopper you’re gonna get bit
  12. I thought of that very remark when I posted lol
  13. I’m liking the Berkley Max Scent King Worm. 8” long, has a bulky build and a ribbed body. I use a purplish color and it has been great on a Texas rig. I have confidence in its scent and the plastic these are made of is not a shiny type but more of a realistic living creature look to it.
  14. My wife’s family really like them. I think they have bought 4-5 of them in last 2 years and they are working great and they love em.
  15. I blame this thread for yesterday’s happenings… Texas rig turtle foul hooked…
  16. I bought a new black max back about 2013 or 14… about a month or so ago a guy gave me a black max rod, that clicked and reminded me of the new never casted reel. I paired them up and have been using and it is a great reel! They last forever if you never use them lol
  17. I’d snip off 2 hooks points off each treble and give it a try
  18. You had 7 with you and I had #8 with me at a farm pond. My lil nephew out fished me 2 to 0. Although I did Texas rig myself into a big snapping turtle. I had a couple pet skunks that size as a kid. Fefe and rose were their names lol great skunk names, right?
  19. For those interested Cabelas has a couple colors of Sigletts on clearance from $17 down to $10.88
  20. That’s a great looking box! Even @Jim Sutter would be envious lol. By any chance how do you compare these in action and quality to Heddon crazy crawler? I imagine these are half the size of a Jackall Pompadour?
  21. Looking at this company and their lures. Has anyone got a review on the prop duster? Looks to be a big profile bait.
  22. If they’re pounding topwater lures, for me it hasn’t made a difference
  23. I got on a turtle kick a few years back and caught and cleaned either 25 or 27 in a few weeks time. That completely burned me out on fooling with them, how ever a lil fried turtle does sound good! We always took it a step farther and deboned the meat before frying. We called it popcorn turtle ?
  24. Out of 50+ anglers in the Bassmaster Classic, Matt Robertson still placed 7th using Ugly Stik rods... heads should be exploding
