  2. That’s Pete Seeger singing Rye Whiskey
  3. I have a few prop lures called a Crippled Killer, Injured Minnow or Wounded Minnow. Made by different or several manufacturers.
  4. Dang son, so many color options, so little financial backing to get them ?
  5. When I see that Super Shad Rap in Scaled Baitfish it makes me feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class ? and that Halloween color mmmmmnn yea…
  6. Out of the 300+ Rapalas I have (so many that I had to count them) I have never had one of the Super Shad Raps. I never see them for sale around here, must be a more popular lure in pike and Muskie places. $16 though seems high dollar in the Rapala line. I’ll have to look them up and see what patterns they come in ?
  7. These look so neat I had to get a pack!! Id like to have all the colors but I think these are a discontinued product maybe?
  8. I do feel like my amount of tackle is limited ? that’s my problem ?
  9. I’ve never joined any of the monthly boxes but I am interested in 6th Sense lures and I am considering joining their $40 box a month for 12 months. Has anybody here joined this before, can you tell me what kind of lures and we’re you pleased with what they sent?
  10. Tis but a scratch…
  11. Good looking jerks, it sure does make the Vision 110 look a lil on the puny side. @A-Jay hope you catch a big ‘un! And congrats on 40,000 likes!!!
  12. @Bluebasser86 I read you spent a short time with this lure and it just didn’t catch. Looking back can you tell me what your rod you used, technique in how you used it and thoughts now on it years later, is there a different way you’d use this lure today? Ive searched online and videos and they’re isn’t as much info on this lure as I had hoped.
  13. I’ve been wanting a Gantarel for awhile now and the monkey twisted my arm today til I laid out the cash. Bought it at 5pm and had it wet by 7! No takes today but impressed with what I saw. I almost thought it suspended but it is an extremely slow riser. Looks amazing. I am so impressed with its many actions I am ready to buy a couple of the bluegill patterns. And oh yea 3 more packs of Liz-Zards lol
  14. A flash of gold or silver is believed to signal to a predatory fish that a prey fish is in distress or displaying an abnormality which usually causes predator to target prey (fish, mammals, birds) all predators watch for such an occurrence. Such as a Johnson’s Silver Spoon. It doesn’t look that convincing to us but just the movement of lure and flash of its metallic body catches fish. It is also thought that among predatory fish the color red is associated with feeding as the red flash of gills displayed by a bass when it is feeding. We have seen packs of young bass move and hunt together. One movement of feeding can trigger a frenzy among fish. Large groups of bass school together during periods during the year. Bass are surrounded by their own kind throughout their lives and are no strangers to seeing each other feed. The color red to our eyes is the same color as those flared red gills they so often see their surrounding counterparts display, I can associate the red color of a lure or hooks being as beneficial as I can the metallic flash of the many lures we use. Will we ever know? No… but using red don’t hurt none ?
  15. @TnRiver46 will be the most helpful at the right lures. I lived and died by the jerkbait, year around. Balsa models from 2.5” to 6” and of course the plastic Husky Jerk. But these balsa wonders caught me thousands of Smallies fishing hard during a 10 year period in my life.
  16. TnRiver46 nailed it on size and weight. I live bout 2 hours north of the Smokies and those sizes and lengths are realistic and top sizes for our streams. Over the years 21”-22” fish is as big as I’ve come across and it takes a well fed one at that length to be much over the 4lb mark. What’s your lure lineup gonna be?
  17. Did they bring the war pig out in a one nocker?
  18. It was definitely access to the internet via forums and videos
  19. You gotta use the force! Or the Schwartz
  20. It’s like Fred Sanfords view on prayer… he said “it don’t hurt none” ? but he also said… “you big dummy” red hooks fall somewhere in between ?
  21. I bought red Gamakatsu trebles for replacement hooks, and it didn’t take many fish yesterday to strip the red off. I’d say 1/3 is gone but another trip they are gonna be looking bare. Is this what we have to expect with using red trebles or is there a go to model of quality red treble I need?
  22. Bad day today for me. 93 degrees, so wet with sweat looked like I had fallen in. Caught a few on the Devils Horse and a couple on Texas rigged worms. Seem to have got a lot of short strikes and swirling on the Devils Horse, overall a disappointing day. But no skunk at least.
  23. I’m a lure buying junkie, they all interest me but if I had to pick what intrigues me the most then it is older lures, wood baits, balsa Minnow stickbaits, jerkbaits, lures that look like real living creatures such as grasshoppers, frogs, crayfish, bats, rats, mice, spiders etc all my life I buy lure after lure with propellers on them. I really can’t narrow it down even the soft plastics, I love and buy every version of helgramites I can find. Then all the colors and the neat names and this and that and it never ends! Never!!! So many lures, so little money…
  24. Updates man, updates?
  25. Some info on the Devils Horse and Topwater Charlie but the pic blurred and idk how to fix it. Can a mod help fix it?
