Yea waking and burning is terms you commonly hear currently but it’s an older term I’m trying to think of. Rick Clunn spoke of Floyd’s in-line buzz bait and a snagless Sally, but I suppose the Sally has little in common with a modern buzzbait. I know he said the Floyd’s predated Lunker and maybe the Dudley

So was the word buzzin the first term used for running a spinnerbait on surface or just under before we had buzzbaits? I recall @Fishes in trees used a term for working big blade spinnerbaits near the surface but I can’t recall the term. If he posts the name of that can somebody give me an idea of when that was first used with spinnerbaits? Thanks

Go to Wally mart and buy Zoom 6” lizards in watermelon and fish weightless and or with a bullet weight. You will catch every bass in the pond. Look at Abu Garcia Black Max, inexpensive and good. Buy 40lb braid and learn to blood knot you a 10lb Fluor leader about 4 feet long.

Zander? Or a phantom maybe? I remember seeing their lures sold in K-Mart stores back about 10 years ago.

It’s been nearly thirty years but my best guess is a trick worm or ribbon tail worm. Pink trick worm and purple ribbon tail

If you are not throwing a bright chartreuse belly top water lure, then you’re way behind in this game.

If your nuts are rusty it’s a good thing, but spraying it on your worm is futile.

I wonder if Zoom makes the Ozark Trail soft plastics? I bought a pack of lizards today and before the ink on the receipt was dry I had bass attacking them!!! Grab you some OT lizards and fish with confidence. Price is pretty much same as Zoom as they give you one less 6” lizard per pack.

Welcome aboard Aaron! Don’t forget the life jackets when out on the water. Sounds like you have a good time ahead of you. I’m sure there will be some northern fishermen that can help you better than I can. Good luck and post your results this summer.
