  1. This little shellcracker hit a fullsized bronco bug on a 5/0 hook. Still don't know how he hooked himself.
  2. Seaguar just came out with that new leader Pounce. Been meaning to get a spool and try it out.
  3. 6 feet. Both sides of my family hail from England.
  4. I use a BPS rain suit. I think they are called HPR or something.
  5. I can honestly say I "caught" my wife. She was tying a slip bobber rig on my line crappie fishing one day in the back of the boat trying to help. While I was waiting for her to finish. I said "Are you done?" and I thought I heard "go" but evidently it was "no" I pulled on the line to retrieve the hook and get a minnow baited and she yelped. I look back and she has a #2 gold eagle claw stuck completely through her bottom lip. lol I had to cut the barb off and pull the shank through. I was in trouble for that one for a long time.
  6. The 3 inch yamamoto zako makes an awesome minimax trailer as well.
  7. As of right now I am still running an ancient Maxxum that I have pretty much completely replaced in parts over the years(its an 06 model) I plan on going with a terrova when i upgrade. The only reason I haven't upgraded yet is because I have to make sure the wiring can handle a 24 volts motor. My old maxxum is only a 12v 55# and I want to upgrade to a 80# 24 volts.
  8. I'm going to be picking up a BFS setup when I get to it. I'm going to go the Abu Garcia route with a Revo X BFS and the Veritas BFS rod. Should make for e decent little setup for less than 300 bucks.
  9. Auto inflates are not a one and done deal. While I agree that an actual vest is more ideal for a kayak auto-inflators have a manual option you can blow up. I use a Bass Pro A/M24 auto inflator on the boat that stays attached to the kill switch and I just throw it one when the big motor gets started. On my kayak I have an NRS Chinook.
  10. For me my go to finesse technique is ned rigs. Call it whatever you want but if it puts fish in the boat I don't care. Fishing super pressured water has made me an expert on it.
  11. Looks like a stogie to me.
  12. I haven't had 5 that weighed as much as these three did. 6'9, 3'12, and 1'2 pounds
  13. a flipping stick is essential gear to me. If I'm bass fishing a jig is always on hand.
  14. I fished Matt Robertson's tournament on Hartwell he had two years ago. There were 250 boats out there out of that 250 there was ONE jon boat with a 9.9 on it. Thousands and thousands of dollars in bass boats floating around and this kid who looks like he's about 20 pulls up like he owned the place. he had his little girlfriend with him. She sat up front looking back and he drove. he had built some really nice looking casting decks on it and a cooler livewell mod. I heard from somebody he weighed a full bag when he came in. Jon boat guys are usually the ones to worry about. lol
  15. I live on Hartwell. It gets notably tough during the summer(thank you blueback herring) Murray is a good summertime lake. Lots of grass.
  16. This post was flagged for approval then changed to something I absolutely did not write.
  17. One of the upstate kayak guys had talked to him before. Said he lived on the water at one of the boat ramps.
  18. Let's face it. It's 2025 if you aren't buying soft plastics that are stored in a clamshell in the bag then what are you even doing? 🤷‍♂️🤣
  19. Caught my first ever rainbow trout(first trout ever matter of fact) yesterday and it was my second time fly fishing ever. I know it's not big but it's another species off the bucket list.
  20. Check out the OG Rocco. It's a balsa squarebill designed for Rapala by Ott Defoe. It's replaced all my squarebills now.
  21. I used to use a saltwater rod for flipping/punching. If it works then use it.
  22. I use a spinning rod for a shaky head. Medium 7'1 Abu pro series Justin Lucas Shaky head rod.
  23. I think it's kinda funny. Back in the day you would have been lucky to see one spinning rod on somebody's deck before blastoff. Nowadays the whole deck is nothing but Uncle Randy's finest weenie worms on "fairy wands". I don't even use FFS and I still have no less than 3 spinning outfits on my deck at any given time. Sign o the times I guess.
  24. I've been using a smaller company after the last fishing show I went too. I talked to the owner of K9 fishing line and I really liked the guy and his company. So I have switched over to k9 for all my line. Their superbraid is 9 strands and as tough and castable as any braid I've used before.
