  1. The tatula sv doesn’t cast far compared to a curado k, something to keep in mind. I was disappointed but for skipping it’s amazing ! What about the new curado mgl 150?
  2. Lews has the TP1X73MH-CB. Rod that’s made for cranking…. It’s the tp1x rod . They aren’t bad for the price but that dobyns is very whippy , so keep that in mind and where you are fishing too as that’s Maybe ok for open water situations but not for weeds etc . Depends what you prefer.
  3. Try the x zone deception worm out
  4. Same with chatterbaits I saw another known angler using a 8 speed gear ratio! I asked why and all I got answer wise was to pick up line faster… Wondered myself if this was a new trend or something? I’ll stick to slower tried and true gear ratio’s
  5. Lews has great products! They offer or cater to lower end more so the high end but again a lot of them are perfectly fine for just about anyone ! I’ve had a couple Lew cheap Walmart specials for several years for friends and relatives to use , never had a issue ! Personally I use on the custom pro speed spin for my finesse setups and never had a issue! Problem with this site is if you don’t have what is considered “good” by their standards then it frowned upon easily …. Hate to say that but it’s the truth. Now Lews also has by far the best warranty support! Even out of warranty they will often times help you or just send you parts …. Nobody else does that ! All that said, I have several Lews pro ti baitcasters but I do prefer my shimano metaniums more…. Buy what you can afford/ makes you happy and have fun on the water !!
  6. Fishing equipment is a tool and every job requires the right tool for the job… . So yep ratios do matter
  7. Duel, yo zuri , megabass etc higher end lures the hooks are good! Strike king, no so good! I’ve had them bend out before and since then I change out every hook before even using them. It’s disappointing to have to do this but i suppose the average joe won’t notice or care either.
  8. I wondered why my last two orders have taken over a week to process! Still waiting to show shipped . Tw is definitely lower on my list to order from nowadays which is a shame since they have alot of products ! Well when they’re actually in stock….
  9. Get a hold of the guys over at the tackle trap for some good bearings. Boca bearings aren’t all that great compared to hedge hogs etc
  10. I think this reel will be a big hit for shimano at its price point. I have one and changed out the spool bearings with hedgehog air bearings and installed a Lews Winn grip handle . Casts easily and palms wonderful , so far the couple times I had it out I was very happy with it. I tried the curado k and sold that right away then wound up with a few 20 metaniums as well which are my favorite reels
  11. I use two kovert and three attax rods and fish twice a week normally. They are soft compared to say Lews which I use their pro ti rods as well. Nonetheless, no issues with them and prefer Winn grips over cork. You can ask them questions on Facebook messenger and will answer quickly as well which is nice .
  12. No need to switch them out ! They are sticky and strong
  13. Decoy snaps are where it’s at ! Don’t cheap out as quality does matter . Tackle warehouse is a good place to look up and read reviews
  14. Whopper plopper of all lures that a really don’t like lol
  15. Dc reels you only set the spool tension so the side to side play is barely gone per their instructions…. Also you will have to thumb it still as the lure hits the water, these aren’t cool proof. daiwa you set with just a tad of side play in the spool and leave it like that for any weight etc per their instructions…. regular reel is set with a tad of spool play no matter the weight and adjust brake accordingly. Never a issue but that’s also not beginners friendly
  16. Yo zuri makes some good wake baits
  17. Red! Went on the kick of buying red lipless, red square bills, red chatterbaits etc …. None worked all that well anyplace local to me.
  18. It’s been rough fishing lately but still fun to try. Wind blown banks are good in the summer but winter not so much! Those can be several degrees cooler.
  19. There’s a lot of biased opinions on here in general I’ve noticed and Lews being a big target. If you don’t have daiwa, shimano, dobyns, etc etc it’s junk blah blah blah . Lews has way better warranty then shimano or diawa! And products for all skill levels and price ranges ! Some good and some bad. But there sure is alot of their reels being used by known name people ….. I’ll admit I started with them and moved up to three pro ti reels now and they are flawless and can be had very reasonable as well if you look around !! But at the same time I love my new shimano metanium mgl reels and have three of them as well but they cost more so I expect a bit better quality as well from them. Overal use what you like and can afford and not get hung up on brands.
  20. People….. it may not show a discount in the check out but it will show up when they send you a email receipt ! Just purchased a shimano metanium and got the 20% discount
  21. Dobyns fury rods are definitely not more sensitive then the tp1x. Those things are like wet noodles. ….
  22. Strike king 3x elaztech finesse worm is hard to beat
  23. Lews xfinity spinning combo is a great combo and plenty of positive reviews on it. Sold at Walmart .
  24. Glad I’m not the only one with tw shipping issues ... first order said processing would take three weeks.. ok whatever! Ordered a rod a few days later and got the same email. Three weeks just for processing! Nope no thanks, I called and canceled that ordered and found the rod cheaper even somewhere else. Done with tw until things get straightened out with processing and shipping. keep in mind all was in stock and no back orders .....
  25. Lews is definitely a good brand and makes quality rods and reels ! But like any brand, you get what you pay for ! The best thing with Lews is their customer service ! Call them with a issue and they will take care of you ! Try that with shimano.... I have three pro ti bait casters and like them better then my curado dc or daiwa sv tw reels! Also have a mach 2 and severs other mid range Lews reels, broke one reel seat and called Lews, Less then a week later I had all the parts needed to fix it at no charge and out of warranty!
