what you fishing for? 2500 is very versatile size and you can do it for bass and trout/Panfish at the same time.

No I am using it for bass while doing bait and wait for trout. so I do two fishing at the same time. I am also thinking of 12lb, I think thats the best for this rod rating.

If it was your combo, How would you do it? I have this lines at home and I dont want to buy anything. I want to do it with what I have. Will you do braid backing yes 30lb or 65lb? or straight fluorocarbon ? which line test? 12lb or 20lb? This is a travel rod and I just use it once a week when I am going trout fishing for catch some bas same time while waiting for trout to bite.

I have couple of 7' gx2s with 6lb and 8lb test for my tube fishing, So if I loose them I am ok with it. For me, I am so lazy, and I need my truck beside me or as near as possible, Any lake have less walking is the winner. If I am going to be on boat and rent a boat, The lake that have better fishing report is winner and driving there for me no problem at all.

I have 20 yards of 400lb mono after that and then the wire. I am just trying to use the line I have, Because the lines are very expensive. A 3000yards of good braid can cost about $800, So tried with everything I had in home , till next time. Anyways the mono 130lb I changed after one trip it was burned and no good after a 7' shark. Also my hooks are 16/0 and in some case 15/0.

I use PCH line of rod, they are cheapest you can find for this job. I have three of them foe my three reels including 14/0(I use 150 to 200 for it).

Add another reel (Avet 80W 2 speed) to my land base shark fishing. Took the advice from @WRB and remove spinning gears, so international 30 will drop at 100 yards and 14/0 will drop 300 yards and Avet will drop at 250 yards. the 14/0 have 2000 yards of 130 braid with 250 yards of 130 mono to-shot, Avet have 1000 yards of 130 braid with 150 yards of 130 mono. International have 80lb braid with 50lb mono topshot.

I have about 200 plastics that was under rain in my cooler and it was messy and sticky and some hooks and weight which I throw them in trash, But I put all baits together to get dry. Are you recommending me to was them with something or after they are dry I pack and seal them in zip logs?
