  1. I have one and use it as frog reel and spooled with 65 maxcuatro. Great reels, I would have all my combos with curado DC if they were available back then. But those years we had only metaniums and Antares DCs in market. The price is great for what you getting. Also they have 200 size now and give you even more options.
  2. Just spool your reel very tight, If you check, you shouldn't be able to use your nail to get in your braid. Also use a tape on 75 or 50 yards that you think you going to cast up to there. Also get curado DC if it is an option, it will help a lot, Specially in windy condition.(thats what I am using with 65lb maxquatro which is the same diameter with your 50lb spectra). also make some easy cast and when frog get some water in it it will be heavier and with your line getting wet you will eventually get less backlash. Also try to fix your backlash, watch some video for techniques to do that and you'll avoiding cutting your line in most of the times. Fact I was typing the same thing the same time.
  3. I have two ML spinning GX2s and I got them for float tube, I Pais 29.99 for each combo 7' long and 2 pcs. I really like them as well for the price I paid for them.
  4. I dont know about bass, But me trying to stay home and cool ?.
  5. Catch few bonitos and one barracuda , but best one was a baby shark on jig.
  6. I will find something ?
  7. Oh I am so waiting for it , Just keep watching the dates like a kid for Labor Day sales to start ?
  8. I personally use Abu Toro Beasts 60 size for my swimbait application because I need to make so many casts during the day and low profile reel will help me a lot. Also I use tranX 300 and 400 size, TranX 400 have more line capacity of all above. What I understand is you dont use more than first 100 yards of the line, Except sometimes when I trolling something like dips 250 which I had about 200 yards of line out which all of my reels are very capable. the toros and TranX 300 will have 300 yards of Maxquadro 65lb. I have 200 yards on them and 75 yards of Seaguar 20/25lb top shot.
  9. Since in summer I have one day a week deep sea fishing, I use a lots of braid on my reels. I am thinking of price since I am using about 4500 yards on my combos per year. I have a big news for you and everyone about braided lines. J-Braid beat them all about quality(*I didnt try Suffix 832). J-Braid 8 Grand is slim slick strong line, Ive seen it first hand. Now I use the 30lb and 65lb, going to get 1500yards spool of 50lb soon. I highly recommend you to give it a try as well.
  10. OMG that is awesome catch, Congratulations.
  11. I am agree with all recommendations, But I have one for you: SHIMANO 20 EXSENCE BB 3000M HG https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-20-EXSENCE-BB-3000M/dp/B083ZV2VST?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A3T4WD9OQ7ZZYM I highly recommend the BB series of Exsence, The only main difference between this one and expensive version is CI4+ body, Which making BB version heavier, But I haven't seen anything in performance quality. I have the CI4 version for about 7 years and I personally love it and I have BB version that I used since last year only and so far I like it as well and definitely worth the price.
  12. If I was in your situation, I would: 1-use weedless ned head(I prefer not). 2-use lighter ned heads.
  13. In champion XP They have 908 which is only rod in market can take care of X-Large swimbaits with that rod weight. I personally sold mine and I got the 807 so it will fit in my truck. There is rods that can cast those heavy big glides, but they weight 1lb plus. So the swimbait dobyns in my idea are the best rods for that application ever,
  14. Since I am all done in freshwater department and I have everything I need, Bait monkey got me on saltwater deep sea gear this summer and it got me good. Very expensive compare to bass gear, Even the lines are very expensive and you spending about $500 to spool few small reels. Let alone the rod and reels and jigs and weights and so on. But I am good now, Only need to buy one ore reel to have everything I need.
  15. I have this purchased , I like the sense of humor in the lyrics. My favorite and always in my library.
  16. Ive watch this topic from the time I can remember and I used information always coz I consider myself night fisherman. But this summer couldn't find regular crew to get out and I got to deeps fishing party boats. good idea to bump it time to time and ill try to do so. By the way it isn't late this year since we are here in SoCal dealing with 110 plus always and it going to be till December.Just took this picture for my father to show him how hot it is.
  17. SO MUCH, even in summer I don't do that much bass fishing but saltwater tackles are still out there ?
  18. ATA replied to whitwolf's topic in Everything Else

  20. I taught you talking about surface iron color for ocean LOL.
  21. 1- Go weedless as much as possible. 2- Go as light as possible. This is my experience of years and years of bank fisherman. Wish you best luck.
  22. Well here we need to agree to disagree :)
  23. https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/4770 it is shallow spool, Not necesary BFS but can say thats the closest I can find.
  24. I am confused about the graphite rods, What is 24 ton vs 30 ton, If its higher it means the rod is higher quality?
