Guys in north playing with tackle in winter, I am playing around home in dog days of Socal. I start to use shrink wrap and Paracord to mess with my lower price rods and some salt water rods. Here my catfish rods I used paracord and then top it with shrink wrap to have fat and grippy handle. The other one I tried paracord wrap small space between split handle of one of rods. the outcome isn't that bad. I like them.

in summer I don't slide down, I just pin it with hook to make bigger look and more free movement. But in colder water that I want smaller and compact jig, I would slide it on the hook. I am using sizes and colors that @WRB Suggested before.

I highly suggesting 5.5' to 6.5' rod for this reel.

This reel is a tank, I have other low profile and I like them but this one is something else.

Oh yes, A lot. It is very on daily basis, someday bites on and you catch 25, sometimes nothing. anyways now I am not sure if you can catch any, They mostly in the north right now.

I have catch bass on each single combo in first day I start to use. coz I just that use that combo all day and catch at least one before I go home.

if somehow I cant do any fishing for few days, Ill always jump in car to nearest pond and ill fish it, sometimes catch and sometimes not. For me the important is, Fishing itself. So pond for addict like me is calming and helping me to hold myself till I go proper fishing .
