  2. Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something like that. They are creative...
  3. That is probably the best and most simple explanation of pitching I have ever read. Straight to the point.
  4. I love to read stuff like this. Thank you for posting and I thought it was very informative.
  5. For me it is very simple. As much as it is embarrassing to admit, this is probably my weak link in bass fishing knowledge. I don't do it on purpose but I know for a fact I have caught a few in the spring that were spawning by chunking spinnerbaits and cranks along the shore. If I see one spawning, I leave them alone. I don't look down on people who choose to fish for them. There is an art to it which I do not posess....mainly patience.
  6. That's just awesome man. I'm stoked for you!!
  7. Ask Randall if there are any trout in the lake where he fishes...all the while using a Triple Trout or Hud swimbait and catching those monsters.
  8. Woah! If you say so. Japanese is pretty tough to translate sometimes with Google translator. Funny as hell to read though.
  9. That's a good idea Dave. The Japanese have been doing that for a while now to gain an edge on their heavily pressured waters. They actually sell a kit to modify your soft plastics. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.bass.co.jp/index.php%3Fa%3D3000%26b%3D18757&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.bass.co.jp/index.php%253Fa%253D3000%2526b%253D18757%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
  10. Would that be the puffy kind or the crunchy kind? ;D
  11. I guess eBay took it down. It was a old fishing lure that sold for over $10,800.00
  12. Thanks for the pics man. Looks like I got my work cut out for me...that's a big lake. Was that the boat marina you called me from? Also, is that the powerline we were looking at on Google Earth the other night?
  13. Well done Aaron. No doubt you got your head on straight. Keep it up and with those marks you'll have a free ride to any school you desire.
  14. I sure wish I had found one of these in grandpa's old tacklebox. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260216740306#description
  15. Many sleepless nights in college because of this game. Probably my all time favorite for old games.
  16. I know you're stoked. Bitter sweet or not, that's a fish to be proud of. Bask in the the glory my man!
  17. I used to be a braid nut. Every reel I owned had some type of braid on it including my spinning reels with the exception of my cranking setup. It was great. I had all the bases covered with strength, sensitivity, and no memory. Last year for the first time I started using copoly and fluoro. What a huge eye opener that was for me. Almost immediatly my catch ratio went up. I really do think that heavily pressured fish will respond better to these type of lines. I tried the fluoro on my jig setup and was very pleased with abrasion resisitance and sensitivity. I would rate fluoro IMHO as being 80-85% sensitive as braid. Manageability was less but very tolerable especially with baitcasters. I will take this small tradeoff for more fish anyday. I feel that by using more line types has made me a better angler in such a short period. I still use my braid in the real nasty areas or when water clarity is less of an issue, but I feel my level of success is much better now with these new tools in my arsenal.

  20. It was during the week and I was playing catch-up from the week before when I had that nasty flu bug. Guntersville may be the first time I actually get on the water this year. I hope not but it's looking that way. :-/
  21. ;D I will probably end up buying one of these rods to put my first Shimano baitcaster on. I know... it's a sad day in Daiwa land.
  22. I sure am glad somebody is representing WV on the board. Looks like I got to play catch-up, you're 10 ahead.

I got into golf a few years back and it really cut into my fishing. I liked golf and it was a real challenge. I still play about twice a year during a couple company tournaments. I just like fishing too much to get back into it.
  24. You know those decorative flags the wife hangs on the side of the house? Our's is not there any more. It's out in the yard with a rip in it. Very windy here.
