  1. You got it............ http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/maker_mark_restoring_alcohol_volume_5Fqow3PavccKQLUbGuwfiM
  2. Reading between the lines is this your pitch/marketing for your own products. Not sure if crankbait fishing has fallen off the way you describe it since there are new ones on the market all the time as well as rods and reels to fish them. I am not a big tourney guy but if my memory serves me did not that guy KVD put whoopin on the gang just a couple of years ago using CB's. Then there was that guy named Takahiro Omori before him, either way both Strike King and Lucky Craft Crankbaits sale went up big time. Here is the thing that gets me instead of basically coming out and slamming Rapala for trying to keep afloat in the industry why don't you go with the flow. Since you are a scientific angler maybe you should come out with a CrankBait Jelly that would enhance their appeal to the fish........
  3. Here is the current picture of Rapala, new mfg. facilities moving from China to Batam Island Indonesia, strong growth in Russia and the new Scatter Rap Family leading their short term outlook. Very good read for those who may be interested. ......http://finance.yahoo.com/news/rapala-vmc-corporations-annual-accounts-073201000.html
  4. This reminds me of when there was a run on Oban (single malt scotch), it went dry for a while and was a PITA to get. The good thing was they never lowered their standards and they got through it.
  5. Without a doubt they are just incredible casting machines but you just can not rule out anything Conquest or Conquest DC when it come to round reels.
  6. While looking for a new jig reel you may want to look at a Conquest 50 or Conquest 50 DC. Both are built like little tanks and will last you the rest of your life and then some. If gear ratio is not a problem for you then take a look at the Antares HG or the Calais DC both are very smooth reels. I would give the nod to the DC since I have not had a to much time on the water with the HG yet. Then there is the new Metanium due out in March which has some of the technology rolled over from the HG. Last but not least you could also look at the Calcutta 200 DC which is geared more to cranking.....
  7. Now that works....
  8. Thanks for reminding me on the Mega Bug.....The Menace is a dead link for me, must be living up to its name.
  9. I am a big fan of the 803 but would not load it up with more than a 1/2 jig......
  10. Again back in the day another good one was Jefferson Airplane ending with Grace Slick bending over signing White Rabbit to an Albany NY cop at the Palace Theater .....Needless to say the place went nuts....Papa John Creach was with them as well.
  11. I agree, pay attention as to how the rod loads up because the whole program could start singing reel fast.
  12. Well now how about.... It's a Beautiful Day, Jethro Tull and The Who in that order...all this was back in the day.....Then there was Led Zeppelin with about 75-100 in attendance, hell you could walk over to the bar get a drink and then go stand under Robert Plant while he performed with the rest of the band......
  13. Great post.....what a display that youngster put on .
