  1. I had a HMX MF baitcasting rod break about 4” from the tip on maybe my 3rd or 4th outing. Fenwick had no MF in stock, so I was offered others (most stock was out in 2020) and I chose a HF. No additional $$, no sending the rod back and got the new rod quickly. No complaints with their warranty service!
  2. And deep! Deepiest! With those massive waves, had that whalelike catfish pulled him overboard he’d still be sinking to the bottom. The poor cheese!
  3. That’s the fishiest fishing video I ever seen! FISHIEST! I just wish I had a drone so I could have watched it from afar. I’m skeered of massive geesy geese!
  4. It would be something if a big shark decided that boat looked tasty!
  5. It’s easy-peasy. Find a career that pays well…that you love. See? It’s not hard! ?
  6. In bowhunting, you aim at a hair. “Aim small, miss small” is applicable in many situations!
  7. That’s a beauty right there! Congrats on a DD and a great bag!
  8. I pretty much use Gammy 3/0 EWG hooks. They are super sharp. At first, my hookups were not as good as with a standard offset hook, but with better rods and a learning curve it’s a rarity to miss a hookset on a good bite.
  9. Mono: I/C, Trilene or Palomar (Palomar particularly for DS) Mono-to-braid (on spool for backing): Uni-to-Uni (double Uni) Mono-to-braid (leader): Lefty Kreh knot
  10. What’s the longest word in the dictionary? Smiles. There’s a mile between the two S’s. How can you starve in the desert with all the sandwiches there? And these are true Dad jokes my dad told me over 50 years ago lol.
  11. I use drywall nails. They stay in place better.
  12. I have a 705CB and it’s a great rod for what you’re looking for. Having said that, I got a notion earlier this year to tie on a 3/0 EWG and a Neko Macho as a weightless TR to see how it fished. I was pleasantly surprised. I caught a few bass and the hookset was great. I wasn’t sure what to expect so the result made me happy. But it is a really good jerkbait and crankbait rod!
  13. So, just to clarify, you are fishing them as a weightless TR with a offset or EWG worm hook? Not a WR hook?
  14. Yeah, I’m not sure what he’s describing, either. Maybe rigged with a WR hook in the nose? Otherwise I’d call it a simple weightless TR. Lately I’ve been catching 90% of my bass on a 4” Senko rigged as a weightless TR.
  15. I’ve never gotten the disdain many show to the wacky rig. Yes, 95% of the time it gets bit on the fall. So some believe “that’s not really fishing” as they aren’t actually working the bait. Boo hoo. Like chucking and reeling in a spinnerbait is really “working” the bait lol. It’s a fish-catching machine. But you still need to determine the correct location and still need to cast accurately to catch bass. It’s one of my favorite presentations. You can drop it in silently, skip it under brush or docks, drag it across beds, or just dead stick it and give it a slight twitch. It’s versatile and effective. I could walk around a pond with a M/F spinning rig, a pack of #956 Senkos and some 1/0 octopus circle hooks and have a great day.
  16. Lobe, inside the ear…everywhere. Yet…your mustache starts getting thin in spots. Gah-h-h!!!
  17. IMO, a heavy is too “heavy” for a Texas rig. A MH/F is ideal.
  18. It’s a bit below your price point but I love my Falcon Lowrider All ‘Round Fast.
  19. Did I ever do anything stupid back in the day? No, I did not. I’d classify it as REAL stupid. Sometimes it’s a wonder the human race persists.
  20. Never had that problem. When you’ve taken it down for cleaning, was the screw tight or loose?
  21. It’s a mystery at times. My far-and-away best color for a Senko is #956 (watermelon w/copper flake/orange w/red flake). Doesn’t matter if it’s a wacky rig or a weightless Texas rig. For a full-size worm on a Texas rig? It’s a Mann’s Jelly Worm in Blackberry (basically black with a hint of dark purple). Same water. Doesn’t seem to matter. But those two colors always produce.
  22. Salt: A World History sounds intriguing!
