  1. How necessary is braided line when throwing something like a toad where it's just chuck and wind all the time? Wondering if I can get away with throwing it on 20 lb fluoro on a MH setup occasionally instead of having something rigged up with heavy braid.
  2. I love Jigs/Bladed jigs and the endless combinations of skirts, heads, and trailers. I really only need 2 to fish but I keep buying them because I just like messing around with jigs....
  3. You have my attention...
  4. What do most of you use for your shaky head worms or light t-rigs? I prefer to fish a worm with a spinning rig but I also want to throw them into trees and use straight fluoro….
  5. I don't ever feel bad after catching a 3 pounder. Things happen, I'm not going to reduce my chances of hooking a beast because one might die....
  6. You must have missed the entire premise of the thread which is catching bass on ARTIFICIAL baits
  7. It's me... I'm Frank.... I just want a jig, all the time. Sometimes I pitch it, sometimes I swim it, sometimes I drag it but I don't see the point in throwing anything else. Some days, I may catch more fish if I switch- but I don't. Some days, the biggest fish in the lake might not want a jig- That's okay, I'm not a competitive fisherman. Over the years, I always caught the most fish on a jig and my biggest fish on the jig so I finally said- why fight it? I carry a couple vibrating jigs for the off chance I really need to switch it up.
  8. Purple tube with clear sparkle tail. 1.5 pounds- kept it in our fridge for years because my cousin was going to mount it but never did
  9. I sense your joking, but could there be something to this!? Best fishing on thursdays!

    What's their best jig trailer?

I bet you'd do even better without the snap swivel...
  12. I like the VMC Ike Rugby heads
  13. I wouldn't worry too much about color with that bait....
  14. Not that I disagree with anything you said, but the creep is over an ounce heavier than the Miyagi.
  15. That’s was I was thinking. It looks so good, I’m tempted to pick up a rod just to throw it. I used to have a Tatula 7’3” heavy rated to 1 1/2 oz that would be perfect I think- 40 or 50 pound braid.
  16. Never seen a high expectations season go south faster than my Twins have. The White Sox have a bright future with all those young stars (and present)....
  17. Ah, the swim jig. My favorite- you can do just about anything with this bait and get bit. So many combinations with different types of trailers, cover, high or low in the water column- the possibilities are endless.
  18. I'm just not used to throwing anything that heavy.... all my jigs/chatterbaits/spinnerbaits/keitechs are 3/8 oz or less. That's a beefier hook than I'm used to using as well- just wasn't sure!
  19. No really... do you sell baits? These look awesome, especially the color on the bottom.
  20. Aren't those pretty much the same thing? watermelon a bit lighter?
  21. Has anyone used this swimbait much? It's caught my eye for sure. It looks like with the recommended 1/4 oz owner beast hook, the bait comes in at 3/4 oz. I'd be throwing it on a shorter (6'10") medium heavy fast rod rated up to 1 oz, is that going to be enough for this bait? It's spooled with 30 pound braid right now but I could put something a little heavier on. Don't want to have to buy a new rod for this bait but I might. I've had a lot of success with the 3.8 and 4.3 Keitech's and I want to up my swimbait game a bit without jumping into the really big ones...
  22. I've had the most success letting them sink to the bottom and then starting a slow retrieve. If not that, find some sparse grass and rip it through there.
  23. On the Mississippi.... it stinks that you can't hit lakes in MN until mid may- just saying if you want it bad enough there are options...
  24. Only if that's how you want to interpret it..... there are places in Minnesota you can fish for bass in April
