  1. Rain? No problem. I had my rain gear laid out ready to go. Storms with high potential for some crazy gusts? Problem I'll wait. I just didn't want to show up just to get stormed out within an hour. No fun.
  2. Not really what I was going for, but yeah, of course that's a common syndrome I too have been afflicted with. With the same lure, too. Just sayin, he had a really nice day throwing a stanley
  3. aint fishing this morning now. Woke up and checked radar, no good. So much for wakin up at 4:30 to try and catch the shad spawn. Any fishing I do this weekend will be at ponds or small lakes. Weather is too nice for the larger popular lakes not to be absolutely packed.
  4. Slow start for me in NC today but I think I learned a lot about how the fish are behaving on Badin Lake right now. Changing game plan for tomorrow and more to follow….
  5. That’s what I was thinking ? Hey whatchu laughing at? Ditto to you too! All of a sudden someone posted a photo of you on a boat a while back and that’s the only proof we’ve got.
  6. And I… am 22. And my relationship with a girl named Rachel resembles one of those stories we tell when we lose a big fish So close…..
  7. Blue oyster looked GOOD ? Also good color for me this spring is bruised craw (black/blue/purple) with black/blue swirl trailer. If I don’t get bit on those swim jigs, spinnerbaits, or light Texas rigged z hogs, man I’m gonna………. Fish somewhere else ?
  8. Placed an order with Mr. Siebert last night for some “Bull gill” colored swim jigs. I needed some replacements. Bull gill color + blue craw color trailer + spike-it chartreuse ? Bluegill colored spinnerbaits also tied on.
  9. Went back through some old photos to recall dates. May 29th last year in NC I was fishing on a very small pond where bluegill were spawning. Could very clearly see their beds in the shallow water while bank fishing. But yeah, me thinks bluegill imitators around docks should be a good thing for me this summer. For a shallower bite. For a deeper bite… gotta figure that out.
  10. Muddy/stained water is great. Cuz yeah, Im doing the same thing. I just look at some ol laydown and think
  11. Don’t we all do that though? We all at least have some idea of where we want to start, although sometimes, maybe often, we have to change.
  12. Yeah kinda worried about that…. However, I read that they continue to spawn multiple times throughout summer along with shad, so I might be able to get at least some action going.
  13. Hey ya’ll, If I’m not mistaken, I think the bluegill spawn should be happening in my area right now, with possibly a Shad spawn already happening or soon on the way. So I’m planning on taking advantage of that in the wee hours of the morning when I hit the water in a day or two. Kinda just a question about spawning behavior. Do bluegill and shad have similar preferences as bass for the areas they like to spawn in? My whole idea of where bass spawn, right or wrong, is that they like a hard bottom, shallow maybe anywhere from 1-8ft, often on a flat, in view of sunlight. What about bluegill and shad?
  14. Or get it off of TW’s memorial sale. Actually bought one today. Then only $5 more than OP’s price range
  15. Rage menace
  16. Falcon Expert Head Turner is what I wound up deciding on. Very tough decision for me. I almost went off the deep end and got the Cara, but I remembered your comment about the difference in blanks between Expert/Cara and went with the Expert. Got the Head Turner and an iRod Spook/Trap rod off TW's memorial day sale. Bait monkey got me good. THANK YALL for your suggestions! This thread was very, very helpful to me.
  17. Swim jig did me right this spring. But man, spinnerbait and swim jig, they’re both pretty great ?.
  18. Well, come and help us. What do you do differently and why don’t you like his approach?
  19. Awesome. Nice looking SB too. Like that skirt color
  20. Heck yeah! Congrats on the PB!
  21. Heck yeah man!!
  22. Hey, my instinct is to trust the people on here too ?. I just haven’t skipped jigs a whole lot so don’t have as much to contribute. Just being real with you
