  1. The two frogs I’m looking at are the spro and scum frogs. Scum launch frog is interesting. There was a thread about it recently
  2. Random question that may turn into a PM later. You fish Harris Lake? edit: just looked up mooresville. Wee bit far from Harris. Shearon Harris is full name. Anyone that does fish it, feel free to PM
  3. That’s livin. People can fish finesse tactics on pressured lakes all they want. I’m lookin for spots less fished and will fish them at times other people don’t. That doesn’t always mean private lakes. I found one recently that is public but is a pain to get to and not many people seem to know about it.
  4. Hey ya'll, Hate to ask this becaude I'm sure it has been asked somewhere on the forums already. If you'll forgive me, I'm wondering how ya'll retrieve frogs over pads. I am interested in getting into frog fishing at some point in the near future. Basically, I understand that "walking the dog" is productive over open water. Can you do this over pads as well? Do some frogs do this better than others? And if this is not possible at all, how do you retrieve them over pads or other emergent vegetation and do some styles of frogs excel at this more than others? Okay, I think that covered everything. Hope ya'll are well.
  5. Yeah, in my experience they do become more active and shallow right before a storm. Good fishing during those times.
  6. One of my home ponds. The one in my profile pic. Quality is so good in that pond, but I struggle all the time to catch em.
  7. I have pretty much only used the FG knot for leaders. Many times it outlasts the knot I tie to my lure. I lean the rod away from me and hold line with my teeth and tighten drag all the way. edit: another thing I’ll add.... you can do this on a kayak with a rod 7’ and under. It is not terribly difficult to do. Sure FG knot is a little more labor intensive but it gives me total confidence that I can aggressively fight a fish when needed. Not addressing this specifically to you MN Fisher, just anybody
  8. That ain’t it chief. Zoom is gold.
  9. California 420 has been AWESOME for me. Clear or muddy, it don’t matter. It gets bit
  10. Kast King Royale Legend. Worked fine for me!
  11. I caught nice ones this season on a #5 shad rap. Totally by accident.
  12. I had to do the same with a spinnerbait the other day. Don’t have trailer hooks
  13. Does this apply for other knots as well? I find that I have to apply a bit of pressure to cinch down my clinch knots sometimes. I use 8 turn for clinch, 6 turn for double clinch. Have had few issues with line breakage, except during a cast ☹️.
  14. Why do they work year around in FL? Genuinely curious
  15. Hehe. But is water really wet? ??
  16. Spinnerbait. The majority of my good size fish are on them. I’m addicted to them right now. Send help.
  17. Bass surprise me all the time with how hungry they seem to get. In the summer, it seems like no lure you can throw is big enough
  18. I will have to look into the colorado Indiana combination. I tore them up yesterday on a single Indiana after losing my Booyah Covert. Best numbers day ever for me. The universe is tryna tell me something
  19. I did too, but I snapped the darn lure off on a cast. Need to check my rod guides. Guess this review is scrapped for now lol. Check out the spinnerbait though, ya’ll! It ain’t bad.
  20. Hey ya'll, For those interested in this spinnerbait, I plan on throwing it a lot in the weeks to come, so I will post reports of it in here. Threw it today, picked up 4 with it with the biggest running 2.5. Had more bites. It did well, the offset head design seemed to keep the bait running truer at high speeds than the nichols double indiana's that I fashioned by slapping some hildebrandt blades on. Skirt pulses a ton on the retrieve without trimming. Relatively thin wire, we will see how durability holds up. Overall, so far so good. I like the spinnerbait.
  21. Well done buddy. Keep on fishin ?
  22. Love my S11’s
  23. School. I do school
  24. Why the chartreuse and white pattern? This is very curious to me
  25. Power pro superslick has been the only braid I've used for a while now. It is pretty quiet
