Cork Cleaning...(It's Been Discussed But I Also Have Adhd)
Yup thats about right. Like to use denatured and a course cotton cloth, plus elbow grease. Using that I don't change the shape or have to wait for it to dry. It will lift most if not all of the U-40 but that's ok cause a jar last a good long time..... Tight Lines!

Cleaning A New Reel
No need to polish the drag cup in the drive gear, or the metal drag washers as stated. Upgrade if possible to carbontex as stated they will reseat the cup but the dark stains will never fully disapear.. Tight Lines!

Finding A Rod Blank's Spine?
Yes check each section individually, mark for alignment of the pieces at the ferrel. Like stated if the upper section is of a med/light action it will be harder to find but do try to get them as close as possible.. Tight Wraps!

Rod Finish Question
X2..... I also agree with the above statment you must have a very cold shop/room. What finish are you using??? @75° room temp...... Depending on the finish it shouldn't take more than 8hrs for a non droop setup and then the cure is with in 24 hrs... Good Luck & Tight Wraps

Quantum Sga600Cx , Flip Switch Assembly?
Just a thought: Check with the people over at Out Door World Rod & Reel Repair. They usually service the name/signature branded reels out there, and, might have a copy of the reels schematic, never know.... Tight Lines!

Quantum Sga600Cx , Flip Switch Assembly?
When we polish we use the Dremel compound... Quantum Sga600Cx: A Quantum signature series reel for Shaw Grigsby. No longer supported by the MFG. I would suggest that you contact Quantum directly and get a copy of the schematic, but doubt if there is one availible.. You might try getting a hold of a schematic for the accurist CX reels it might show the switches layout orintation. Good Luck & Tight Lines!

Really Dumb Question For Rodbuilders
Most custom Tenn. grips are tapered slightly at the ends to keep the rings from falling off the finished handle. They are also sized to be tight when the reel foot is inserted into the rings. The way these grips are built is so that you have a slight balance adjustment (moveing the reel forward on the grip,or, to the rear of the grip when mounting the spinning reel. But even over time they will/do compress just enough to lossen the reel foots grip, and then they need help with some tape.... Tight Lines!

Problems With Eyelet(S)
Sounds like flex fractures in the wrap finish is letting moisture in under the finish....... The easy way for a fix, let dry fully and as stated above... But fingernail polish is not water proof or flexable, and will not last. The proper fix is to have the guides removed and rewrapped/finished properly. Look in your local yellow pages for a custom rod builder or brick and mortar tackle shop that does rod/reel repairs... Good Luck & Tight Lines!
