  1. You will need a couple of 3x10x4mm for cast control and palming side spool support...
  2. Jimzee, basser89, Thanks for the kind words.... Redhed, The bearings and shims need cleaned and re-lubed..Good Luck & Tight Lines Soon!!!
  3. Here ya go again......This has been posted here before many times... Good Luck All!!!
  4. Yeah Japan Tackle....http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/Tuning_handles_Shimano.htm http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/Tuning_handles_Daiwa.htm
  5. As a builder I don't know a great deal about G-blank rods and don't use them, but I can tell you that G-blank is using a US made blank in the (RX8+) that it is actually built buy St.Croix.Maybe that could help ease your mind.. Good Luck & Tight Lines Soon!!!
  6. I have run into Calcutta (not sure how your side plate is anchored for that reel) side plates that stick, I use a very fine slot blade to slightly pry it lose, or use a heavy pin or small dia nail to push the plate off through the screw hole, or leave the screw in the hole loosened about 4 turns and push on the screw head. Good Luck!!!
  7. I don't work proprietary reels (Pinnacle, Silstar, etc)... But on a Calcutta remove the spool and look at the inside of the palming side plate, you will see to small screws remove these to remove palming side plate to access the e-clips and washer for line carriage worm gear..... Good Luck......
  8. I have about fifty favorites, all custom built by me, for me and my style/techniques, all on different blanks Loomis®, StCroix®, Rainshadow®, etc.
  9. None taken. Most everyone here knows we only service out of warranty reels (2 years old or better). Like stated above I would bubble wrap it in it's box then that in a USPS shipping box and send it Priority Mail Signature Confirmed Delivery, of course they aren't going to send it back that way, but still covers getting it to them. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  10. Any lateral play in the spool? If so it could be that the cast control cap is adjusted to lose, and, letting the spool have to much lateral play causing the pinion to come undone with the drive tabes/brake pin. Another problem would be the drive tabes/brake pin (PN#19372) are put in upside down, when the bearing was replaced back into the spool... Just a thought.... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  11. Just take the reel back for return/refund.. I personally would never by a reel in the clam/blister packs.. Better Luck Next Time! Tight Lines!!!
  12. If you have the switch set on flipping and press the thumbar and it returns immediately then the reel is working properly. If you set the flipping switch on and press the thumbar and you have to crank the handle then the switch has lost a spring that attaches it to the release plate inside the reel. Do not attempt to repair this yourself if you have never done so. There is nothing EASY about the insides of a Quantum reel! Take/Send the reel back to where ever you got it from for a refund, or, send it to Quantum under warranty. Just my .02¢ Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  13. Not that many Quantum posse members here.... Energy PT Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  14. PacBay® Hialoy guides are on the same level as the Fuji® Hardloy. That would make them one step up from the Fuji® Aluminum Oxides and one step down from Fuji® Alconite guides.... Tight Lines!!!!
  15. You don't say what reel it is..... And you cranked it past the first bind, now it doe's it all the time.Could be any of the issues stated above. But i'll bet the worm gear and pawl in the level wind is gummed up and cause the bind in the first place you cranked it past that and blew out a couple of the teeth on the idler gear (the white nylon gear) that runs the worm gear and the reel is binding in the same spot every crank. The fix will be to send/take it to your local service shop (depending on reel mfg) and have it properly cleaned and re-lubed and the blown out part replaced.. Just my .02¢ from my bench.... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  16. There is no confusion here....If you all would just read the quote in my reply, that is from the BPS page for the Curado E series. This quote is from the Shimano website.....
  17. Their talking about the thumbar..... 8-)
  18. I also thought I replied to a question about making a 2 piece out of a 1 piece rods. All 2 piece rods have working ferrules now days.
  19. Another advantage is that when you receive your Christmas present, it will actually work! 8-) Thank You
  20. The Prodigy is built for Cabela's by Daiwa®, but as I have been told by the factory it isn't supported by the factory.... Stick with the Revo S out of the 2 you have listed..... Tight Lines!!!!
  21. On my S-L loosen the thumbscrew, twist the side plate up and it comes off. No it doesn't just hang there.. Tight Lines!!!!
  22. 1- 7' HF Jig, 1- 7' MHF T-rig, 1- 6'6" MF Soft Top, 1- 6'6" MHF Buzz Bait Top, 1- 6'6" MHF Spinnerbait.. With at least that many rod's and reels ready for backup. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  23. Shops not that big. Got tired of paying over head, gutted my garage and rebuilt it into my rod building and reel service shop in 03, ddigit helped and in lew of payment settled on training...... Picked up on the Killer tag on another forum. Every time Connie would post anything she would call Tommy Killer that's it. Fixed PM settings! 8-) Apologies to the original poster for high jacking his thread... Tight Lines All!!
  24. I only own the S-L and have serviced ALL of the others. No matter which Revo you settle on you will not regret the purchase.
  25. Yup kind of figure that you had either taken Connie & Killers business course, or you purchased the $90 vid and tool kit...... 8-) Very good people, I do have the video & stuff & will soon be going through the class also. Have you been through the course? Actually I trained Dan (ddigit), he has been training and working with me for 5 years now, and I have been doing it for 25+ years.... I see in the other forum you are in need of the engagement pin tool, I made mine in a couple of minuets .. I'm real surprised that Killer or Connie didn't mention the pin pliers in the video, I do in my table top reference guide.. Tight Lines!!!
