Fishlegs

I’ve seen some similar to those at my local store. I have never been able to ID them anywhere either. I decided that they must be a Walmart exclusive. Let us know if they’re any good when you try them.

Prayers for y'all here too. Those things can get you down if you let the worry get to you, but you seem to have a great outlook. I know getting out to fish helps me reset my head when I'm stressed. Keep taking care of the family & hang in there.

I had a couple of spare hours between other scheduled events on Saturday so I decided to see if I could catch a fish. I decided to go to the river rather than a friend's pond because I expected a crowded family event to be there. Little did I know there was a MLF tourney at the river. ?‍♂️It wasn't too bad. Just me, and 115 of my closest friends fishing my spot. The picture below is of the overflow parking because every lot was full. I got to the park just as the weigh in was starting so everyone was speeding in to fish the rip rap where I was for one last fish. When I'm on the bank, and a tournament angler comes up I usually try to give way. Most people seem to appreciate that & are willing to chat as they pass by. All five boats I talked to said the same thing. They caught a few small fish, but no keepers. I looked up the results and it was a tough day for most. 68 of the 115 boats caught 1 fish or less. I was at zero fish myself. One guy suggested that I move down the grassy area if I wanted to catch a small fish. I had about 15 minutes left before I had to leave so I decided to try it. Sure enough I hooked one little smallie. It was only 8-9 inches long, but it was extremely angry. Hit my TX rig Rage Menace like a freight train. It turns out that my zero pound bag would've tied for 74th place in the tourney. ?

I have been so busy lately I haven't had much time to fish, but I managed to sneak in a couple of short trips. I had 15 minutes before picking up my kid when I got the dink, and the other came on my lunch break yesterday. The wind was blowing incredibly hard so bank fishing was tough, but I'll take catching one fish on my lunch break over eating a turkey sandwich at my desk any day. Hopefully someday I'll learn how to take a good picture of a fish. lol

Nice fish, and nice report as always. Those light colored smallies are beautiful. Quite different from what we see around here. I'm curious how you removed the hooks. Did you use the "through the gill" method shown on BR, or do you have another method? I think it's interesting (and comforting) to know that those fish are alive, and eating with the hooks in there.

I got to fish for the first time in what seems like forever yesterday. The day started with the kid in the drive through pouring hot coffee all over my hand, then it was boat trouble in the form of a bad battery so I had a feeling it might be a tough day. The fishing was tough, but we had a gorgeous day. I was just thankful to be on the water. I had one interesting catch. We saw some fish chasing shad up ahead of the boat so I was threw out as far out as I could to get to them. I let my lipless crank fall through before reeling it, when I felt something. I set the hook, but nothing happened. I thought I was hung up, but then I felt my line move...and stop...and move again. I had no idea what was going on until I pulled it out of the water. I snagged a catfish right in the middle. At least I know my hooks are sharp. ?

I laugh if my wife asks whether she should wear these shoes with that purse, or this purse with those shoes. I usually say, "Does it really matter that much?" My wife laughs when I'm trying to decide if I need to throw a watermelon worm vs a watermelon red worm. She says, "Does it really matter that much?" Seems fair.

Whatever it is, it’s just about big enough to boil it, and eat it yourself. ?

Never had anything like that yet, but I believe there are some here who have. Wish you the best in your surgery & recovery.

Sorry about your mom & uncle, Glenn. Thankful to hear that you're doing well with your health. We all love your videos, but your priorities were in the right place during those trials. Hoping for better years for you going forward. Thanks for all you do to help your "internet fishing friends".
