favorite plastic worm color
I like a lot of colors, but if I had to pick I'd say watermelon and tequila sunrise are probably my favorites.

We were supposed to go fishing today, but we had to postpone it because of high water on our lake. I did make it to the creek bank at a park on my lunch break though. I was walking along the bank trying to decide where to start when I saw two decent ones next to a fallen branch about 6-8 ft from the edge. I made a cast well before I got to them so I wouldn't scare them away. The water was crystal clear so I got to watch the whole thing. They both checked it out, but this one didn't hesitate to eat my watermelon ned rig. It looked skinny, but measured about 17 in, and right at 2.5 lbs. There were a lot of baby bass in the creek too. Maybe that bodes well for the future of this creek.

I have a friend who likes to put in at this ramp, and it is like this every time. Kind of creepy.

Current water conditions on Pickwick in TN, any flood debris, etc.?
You going to the Tennessee or Alabama end of Pickwick? The Alabama end is above flood stage right now, but it's supposed to crest today, and start going down tomorrow. Like @TnRiver46 said, you'll probably be OK as long as you don't get too close to the dam. If you're going to the Alabama end of Pickwick you need to be aware of the rocks that are mainly on the south side of the river. They are normally visible, but when the water level is up they might be just under the surface. That could make things messy in a hurry. Be safe, and good luck.

Fishing in the rain is about the only way we can fish in our part of the country lately. Too bad we can't share some of this rain with the areas suffering from a drought.

Is this a bass with abnormal fins, or something else?
I think that’s called a mullet bass. Scientific name: Billyraysus Cyridacea ?

Got to hit the lake on Friday. Mild temps, and low humidity. It was a great day. We lost count of exactly how many largemouth we caught, but it was over 30. We also hit a school of white bass, and had fun catching 10-12 of those in a matter of minutes. We caught the largemouth on Ned rigs (only red worked), Yum Dingers (only watermelon worked), lipless (see pic below), but our lure of the day was the trick worm. The color didn't seem to matter with the trick worms. Green pumpkin, brown, white, chartreuse, didn't matter. They hit every color we threw when we found the right spot. It was incredibly fun. We didn't catch anything big, but as a pond fisherman who's trying to learn how to fish in bigger water it felt pretty good to pick the right spots, and unlock the bite patterns as they changed throughout the day. I attribute a lot of our success to what I've read since I joined this site about a year ago, and to the things I've learned from fishing with @roadwarrior. So thanks to all of you who share your wealth of knowledge on BassResource. Y'all are awesome. You helped me and my friend put 40+ fish in the boat in one day. It's the most bass I've caught in a single day in a long time...maybe ever. We didn't get many picture worthy fish, but I took one picture I wanted to share. This poor little guy got snagged as I was fishing around a bait ball. This is what we're competing against. I thought it was interesting to see how the real deal looks in comparison to some of the lures we use.

Question for those of you that use the ones with the long tails like the war eagles... Do you trim the skirt, or leave the longer tails? Do you use a trailer?
