Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
And so many people think fishing is just throwing out a line and catching fish. It’s much more complicated than that.

Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
Let’s hope for no more ice, 60 temps, and tight lines!

How big is my Small Mouth bass?
I think it’s Pi + 1/3 - 1 bite...before adding cool whip. ? Kidding aside, nice fish! Two 3 lb+ smallies in 1 trip = well done.

Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
It looks like they’ll be raising the water level over the next few days. The inflow for Pickwick is predicted to be in the 115,000-130,000 with an outflow in the 85,000-90,000 range. This may be a dumb question, but does inflow or outflow affect current more? Does TVA report water temp like it does the flow? I can’t find it on their site.

I agree.

Yep. It’s brilliant. They figured out how to get us to spend an extra $30 to save $6.

Post Tornado P.B.
Sorry to hear about the tornado, but congrats on the nice fish.

New PB, need replica suggestions!
Wow! Congratulations man. That’s a beast.

Dale Hollow Info Please
According to the link below (AL Dept of Conservation and Natural Resources) a license from AL, TN, or MS work on various parts of Pickwick. https://www.outdooralabama.com/freshwater-fishing-licenses/ala-miss-tenn-reciprocal-fishing-license-areas Unfortunately for @roadwarrior a TN license won't work in the Florence-Muscle Shoals area, but I think it will down to Yellow Creek in MS, and down to Bear Creek in AL. It looks like an AL license will work all the way to the dam on the TN side. I have no idea about Dale Hollow. I was just wondering if they might have some kind of agreement like that. Unfortunately it won't help for you on Wilson either @TnRiver46.

Dale Hollow Info Please
Do TN and KY have a reciprocal license agreement on that lake like TN, AL, and MS have on the TN river?

I caught the fish in my profile pic from the bank of one of the feeder creeks off that lake. Be aware of the cormorants if you put in where they did.

Unique or interesting lipless colors...
“Sharpie shark custom” makes it sound more expensive.

The latest sale thread
I thought it was a nationwide chain, but their website just shows stores in southern states. Y’all need to check it out if you ever make it down south. It’s probably my favorite big box store.

The latest sale thread
I don't have a local BPS, but Academy price matches BPS so I got some 15# to try too...as well as a couple lures, and a new rod. Did I need the rod? No, but they had the $130 H2O Xpress Tac-40 spinning rods for $55. I already have one and I know I like it. Y'all might want to check your local Academy clearance racks to see what's there. I may need to see if there's a way I can lock myself out of this sale thread. ?

The Natural Progression of a Basshead ~ One Man’s Point of View
Generous things like that get noticed, and very much appreciated. ? It also encourages some of us want to be like that when we grow up. ? I am a novice compared to most of the good folks on this site, but I had the privilege of helping several kids catch fish last year. The feeling you get when you see the smile on a kid's face when they catch a fish is just as rewarding as catching a big one for yourself. Stage 5 can be very addictive.

After work fishing - at work
Not bad at all. The kids fishing night sounds great. I hope you get to do that. I’m sure we’d all love to hear about it if/when it happens.

It’s not big, but my first February bass is an improvement on my first January bass. I think December is the last month that I haven’t caught a bass. It’s also the first fish on the new rod Santa brought for Christmas. ?

I Found Something Out
Good idea. Use every available resource that you have. I've caught bass on catfish rigs, and catfish on bass rigs. I don't think the fish care what's holding the line. They're just interested on what's on the end of the line.

Maybe they did go...and then used a mouse to catch those beasts! ?

Interesting breakdown on various styles and techniques of fishing.
This is true. We all enjoy being on the water fishing, but there's also fun that comes from doing fishing related things (like research, looking at maps/charts, reading BR, etc.) when you can't go out fishing.

I don’t like to be anal, but....
If you like the handles better that way then do it. I like mustard and pickles on my hamburger, but my kids hate mustard and pickles. I tell them that it isn't going in their mouth so they don't need to worry about what's on my burger. ??
