Riprap Tips
I haven’t lost a zillion...yet. ? I did lose enough this week to make me realize that I need to try something different. It sounds like I need to give the mojo rig a shot.

Can the rage craw be fished slow?
Having a fish waiting on the line would be a great way to forget the frustration of a backlash.

Prop baits
I like devil horses. I have multiple colors, but I reach for the perch pattern first. Torpedos are great too. I caught several fish in 2020 on a bullfrog torpedo.

Riprap Tips
Good video @Glenn. Any tips for how to avoid losing lures in rip rap when fishing from the bank? I’ve lost multiple lures to the rock monster this week.

Does anyone here share my dilemma of treble hook lures?
I'm equal opportunity when it comes to losing lures. I can lose a single hook lure just as easily as I can a treble hook lure. As a matter of fact, I lost one of each on my lunch break today. Brand new lures that had never been in the water before. Now I have to feed the bait monkey again.

Today's Bass Fishing YouTube influencers
No parent is perfect. We all make mistakes (I know I have). No kids are perfect. They make mistakes too (I know I did). You’re right that they see influencers all around them all the time. We just have to do our best to teach them how to choose which influence to follow. If we spend time with them and let them know how much we care about them it will have a big influence on them throughout their lives. Keep fighting the good fight my man.

What are your top three fluorocarbon lines and the worst?
Do you just do this for fluorocarbon, or for all types of line?

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
To me it seems logical that if the cold water temps cause the primary food source to die off that competition among the bass would go up due to a lower food supply. I know that’s an oversimplification of how the food chain works, but it might contribute to the appearance of more aggressive spring bite.

Do bass feed more aggressively after a bad winter?
Fascinating info. Thanks for sharing that. I’ve been trying to learn about winter/cold water fishing, and your post summarized it as well as anything I’ve seen. I’ve read that shad start dying when the water temp falls below 45-ish degrees. According to the chart, that’s the temp where bass need the least amount of food. As opportunistic predators, do bass aggressively seek out dying shad in cold water, or just passively eat what falls right in front of them?

Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
And so many people think fishing is just throwing out a line and catching fish. It’s much more complicated than that.

Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
Let’s hope for no more ice, 60 temps, and tight lines!

How big is my Small Mouth bass?
I think it’s Pi + 1/3 - 1 bite...before adding cool whip. ? Kidding aside, nice fish! Two 3 lb+ smallies in 1 trip = well done.

Heading To Pickwick Tuesday
It looks like they’ll be raising the water level over the next few days. The inflow for Pickwick is predicted to be in the 115,000-130,000 with an outflow in the 85,000-90,000 range. This may be a dumb question, but does inflow or outflow affect current more? Does TVA report water temp like it does the flow? I can’t find it on their site.

Yep. It’s brilliant. They figured out how to get us to spend an extra $30 to save $6.

Dale Hollow Info Please
According to the link below (AL Dept of Conservation and Natural Resources) a license from AL, TN, or MS work on various parts of Pickwick. https://www.outdooralabama.com/freshwater-fishing-licenses/ala-miss-tenn-reciprocal-fishing-license-areas Unfortunately for @roadwarrior a TN license won't work in the Florence-Muscle Shoals area, but I think it will down to Yellow Creek in MS, and down to Bear Creek in AL. It looks like an AL license will work all the way to the dam on the TN side. I have no idea about Dale Hollow. I was just wondering if they might have some kind of agreement like that. Unfortunately it won't help for you on Wilson either @TnRiver46.

Dale Hollow Info Please
Do TN and KY have a reciprocal license agreement on that lake like TN, AL, and MS have on the TN river?

I caught the fish in my profile pic from the bank of one of the feeder creeks off that lake. Be aware of the cormorants if you put in where they did.
