  1. If you like the handles better that way then do it. I like mustard and pickles on my hamburger, but my kids hate mustard and pickles. I tell them that it isn't going in their mouth so they don't need to worry about what's on my burger. ??
  2. I don’t, but there have been times when I wished that I had one.
  3. @Bluebasser86Looks like she eats pretty good for a one eyed fish. Huge!
  4. Good point. Not much snow down here in the AL portion of the TN river, but we get some uncomfortably cold rain in January. Maybe if I'd get out and catch some I'd change my mind.
  5. Hope so, but I don't go very often in January. It was 65 degrees and sunny here so I had to. I will be happy if I get to post on this thread half as much as you do this year. Please send a few down the Tennessee River for me.
  6. It was an itty bitty dink, but I'm on the board for 2021! This is my first ever January bass.

Mama always said, if you're going to do something...do it right. You definitely did it right. Looks like one of mine! ?
  8. I'm like @BrianMDTX and still learning what I like. My preferences seem to change every time I buy a new rod or reel...which was pretty frequent this past year. HaHa! Right now I'd say I prefer full grip cork, but what I would call my favorite rod has a split grip EVA handle.
  9. Do you have any unused, or broken rods that you could pull a guide off of? I always take the guides off of broken rods before throwing the blank away. I use those guides when I lose an insert on other rods. Replacing a guide is not that hard. If you can tie flies you won’t have any trouble replacing a guide. Good luck whatever you do.
  10. Nice fish!
  11. Good rod, especially at that price.
  12. Mighty nice!
  13. The skipjack were biting whatever lipless crankbait I threw out there Saturday. I froze a few to use for catfish bait another day. I haven’t had much luck catching bass lately so I was just glad to catch something.
  14. Those are plentiful in the Tennessee River right now. I've caught several this week. They may not be prized (other than for bait), but they're pretty fun to catch...if that's all that's biting.
  15. Oh, man...I did not see that coming. I'm glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read this. ? Oh, man...I did not see that coming. I'm glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read this. ?
  16. Nice. Drop shot is on my list of techniques I want to try to learn next year.
  17. Thanks for sharing @Zcoker! I would never have guessed you were fishing for sharks from the shore. I bet the release process is a little trickier with a shark than it is with a bass. Lol
  18. Nice! Did you say topwater shark fishing? I'd like to hear more about that. That sounds awesome!
  19. Tell him to keep an eye open for gators. I walked around a few ponds in that area as a kid on vacation, and they got too close for comfort. I'd offer other tips, but the main thing I remember about my fishing experience there is that it seems like we saw gators in every puddle. I don't even remember if we ever caught any fish. lol
  20. Seeing how I don’t have a boat, I usually have to use my legs to get to where I can catch fish. It’s also a How To Train Your Dragon movie reference. The kids like those movies. Honestly, so do I. ?
  21. The Daiwa aird-x is another possible option in the $50 range.
  22. I had a chance to use my 703, and I believe it's sensitive enough for my needs. I tied on a t-rig on, and while I didn't catch anything, I could feel the bottom. I also threw a shallow crankbait with it. No bass, but I caught a handful of Tennessee tarpon (a couple good sized ones). It handled them just fine. I think it's a keeper...especially at the BF price.
