  1. Doesn’t surprise me one bit with those turds! All I know is, they are lucky we live in the world we live in with the technology we have. I can almost guarantee if that happened in a world without cell phones/cameras/videos….those two would have simply “disappeared”
  2. Should’ve just spooled it on yourself. You don’t need any “tools”. Never understand why guys do this. At this point, you’re SOL. Should’ve brought it up right then and there. In fact, why WOULDN’T you?
  3. P-Line x-braid in 50lb is my personal preference on my frog setup. Love it
  4. My vote is for heavy power but I’m biased based upon my own personal preference. From the bank, you’re fishing against some heavy cover at times. In this instance, I’d rather be over than under powered.
  5. Anyone know if there is a deeper spool available for the 2016 JDM Met? I had a US version that I believe had a 150 spool. The JDM is a bit shallower. I was emptying my spool firing a Spro 65 on 60lb Sunline Plasma. Anyway I can buy a 150 or even 200 sized spool or am I out of options?
  6. I don’t know about you, but that reel needs to check its’ pants!
  7. I’ve really got my eye on these…I love the styling on them. Okuma’s version of an Expride maybe??
  8. I usually bring two. One rigged with 50lb braid and which doubles as a frog/punch setup. The other with 15lb fluorocarbon, Texas rigged. Small backpack with tackle, soft plastics, and scale.
  9. No sealer for me. I tried once and hated how it changed the feel. Totally defied the purpose of cork in my eyes. I like my cork naked. Feels great and always good grip.
  10. LOVE mine!! Grey reel for frogging and fishing the slop!
  11. VERY under rated rods. Especially their HFX line. For the money, you won’t be disappointed.
  12. Oh man!!!! Another local!!!! I stopped in there for the first time about a month ago and was blown away by their full selection. High end rods, reels, baits, JDM goodies, the list goes on. The guys there were great to talk to as well. I will definitely be back there dropping a few hundred soon!!
  13. Kistler ZBone 7’3” heavy/fast if you can squeeze out the extra funds. If not, KLX or Helium in the same length, power, and action would be closer to your budget
  14. Rod arsenal is now 100% Kistler and growing. Three ZBones and a KLX. My lord these rods are absolutely flawless and actions spot on. Most sensitive I’ve ever used…for me; there is no comparison to anything else including the NRX+.
  15. You and me both now!!! After seeing your input on the Helium, I am getting even more psyched about my ZBone!!!
  16. I always thought the JDM Mets always had a 100 yd spool whereas the USDM versions had a 150?
  17. Congrats!!!! I have a ZBone 7’3 Heavy out for delivery today!
  18. I vote for the Amistad XH. I used it for 3/8oz weights, plus hook, creatures, senkos, and Ol’ Monsters. The Amistad alone felt too mushy to me for my presentations.
  19. 2016 Metanium MGL is my holy grail. I have big hands so as solid as the Bantam is, it’s just too dang small for my liking. The Curado and Tranx reels are super sweet. However; the 2016 Metanium looks super sharp and just fits my hand perfectly.
  20. Nothing better than an early summer morning before sun up with some Hank Williams playing softly!
  21. ***UPDATE*** It’s amazing how things work out. My old corporation (15 year tenure) got wind of my lay off. I was offered a very attractive six figure compensation package with annual bonus if I were to return to the organization. Not only that; higher salary than what I was making at the company I got laid off from, a line of Senior VP’s that vouched for my return, and unlimited vacation time with a hybrid work schedule. Look out bait monkey; we’re about to makeup for some lost time ???? Thank you again to everyone here in the community for your support and words of encouragement! I’m back baby!!!!
  22. I’m a die-hard Metanium fan. It is by far my favorite reel. I looked at a Chronarch once and I didn’t like how it felt. It felt like the body was made of plastic. Metanium all day long.
  23. Prayers out to Damar, his family, and all of the staff on the field tonight. Seeing him stand up, falter, then collapse in the fashion he did I can say with absolute certainty this is not going to have a good outcome. Life is fragile folks. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers.
