  1. BPS has Curado 200 K reels down to $149. Local mom and pop has the same. Good price on a solid reel! I actually prefer it to the 150MGL and new 200M’s on looks alone 😎
  2. I’ve fished the HFX rods from 7’ medium cranker, 7’3” medium heavy and heavy, as well as the 7’6” heavy. Super solid rods that fly under the radar for the price point they are at. Nice tips and parabolic to keep them pinned. I stopped using because I had the itch to try other rods but am honestly thinking about going full fleet of the HFX rods for the 24’ season. I heard they are going to be coming out with a line that replaces their Ti rod lineup. Part of me is waiting to see those first. Overall, great rods and great customer service and was always pleased with them. Never had an issue and the rods are bulletproof.
  3. LOL….I’ll do you one better. I read the original post, then after reading the replies, realized I was the OP 😂😂😂. Rods, rods, and more rods since then 🙊
  4. Hot d**n that is one sexy and clean looking reel! Digitaka has them ready to go on their site as soon as stock arrives. Will definitely be giving this one a try!
  5. Texas rig setup and frog setup. Bag of Missile Baits D-Bombs in GP3 on a pegged 1/4 oz weight.
  6. I would die if I could only go to Cabela’s 3 times per year 😳
  7. Suffix 131 for me for my frogging and flipping setup
  8. Alpha Angler Zilla 2.0 or Zilla VAAder. I have the VAAder and use it as my Texas rig/jig rod. Perfect rod for the job. Sensitivity is equal to an NRX and Zbone for me.
  9. 1/4oz Bitsy Bug in Camo with a chunk trailer…thank me later 😁
  10. Killed it out at Clinton Lake yesterday. 16 LM total. Made the 2.5 hour trek from Schaumburg and it was so worth it. Sticking close to home today out at Deep Quary.
  11. All my reels are Shimano. They all cast the same and are the most consistent across all platforms. In addition, they just feel perfect for me. All rods are Alpha Angler. I like consistency.
  12. Just binged out on 1/4 oz Bitsy bugs and Berkeley chunk trailers along with the Strike King Tungsten Compact Tour jigs in 1/4 oz. FYI the new tour grade compact jigs from Strike King appear to be a a modern day upgrade to the Bitsy Bug….Tungsten head, slightly meatier hook, a little better action. Got 8 Alpha rods in the cart as well ready to go along with some Bantams and Mets from Digitaka as soon as they replenish stock. I love the off season 😁
  13. Fish in temps above freezing…plain and simple
  14. Checkout the Wide Glide from Alpha Angler rods. It’s a 7’9. Great rods made on some of the best blanks available 😉
  15. Bantam would definitely be more than capable. Might also want to look at the new Curado 200 M as well. Tranx 200 would be another good option but might be a little overkill for freshwater.
  16. Usually flip flops when warm and HUK boots when it’s wet or cold. Under Armour HOVR athletic shoes may be the deal next season. I noticed standing on your feet for 6+ hours in flip flops takes it’s toll on your back surprisingly
  17. I am in love! Looks super clean. I wonder how well that finish might hold up in gloss? I almost wished it was just a flat black but either way, I’m super impressed. Can’t wait to get my hands on one!!! Any idea on release date??
  18. Our season in IL is winding down….between now and April I buy rods and reels like a fat kid in a Twinkie factory
  19. I keep salivating over the images and video…I’m SOLD. Not on Digitaka yet 😔
  20. That is one sexy looking reel…I’m definitely going to be looking into. I just am not a fan of the choked off feel of Daiwa’s. Now if they casted like a Shimano it would be game over
  21. I don’t put any stock in gear recommendations from anyone on YT. At most, I’ll watch reel reviews but only the in-depth, breakdown ones. Too many “influencers” out there pushing product only for the kickbacks.
  22. So what was the result of your call to St. Croix OP?
  23. They are definitely a sleeper series…another good sleeper series are the Halo HFX rods. Grab a 15% discount code and those can be had for about 130 shipped each.
  24. Easy. Daiwa Rebellions. 6’10 MH/Regulat for your movers 7’3 MH/Fast for TX rigs. list is $199 but I’ve gotten them in the 150-170 range. Awesome blank, sharp looks, and a full guide train of Fuji SiC’s….can’t beat them and very sensitive, light, great actions
  25. Surprised no one mentioned the one MAJOR problem with buying JDM reels….once you start, you won’t be able to stop 😎
