would like to lighten my load of plastic baits...
The problem I have when I remove plastics from their packaging is deformity. I even have to be careful about their placement in their original packaging because it can also lead to deformity. It's super frustrating. For example I tried Senkos in a Plano and they all ended up with curled ends.

BUILT MY FIRST CASTING SWIMBAIT COMBO!
Gotta b honest, I wonder what kind of abuse/contact that Fury suffered. $10 is crazy

Fall Lure Selection
I was on a killer spinnerbait bite for the first time in years but that died suddenly. The whole bite died suddenly. Yet the temps remain the same. Frustrating.

Bill Dance
No, but it is refreshing to see, 1. Someone honor their hero while their hero is still alive. This culture of not showing appreciation to a person until they're dead is weird. 2. A celebrity have a respectable hero.

I put the paddle tails away and now hooked on the Yum Super Fluke
I can't buy Flukes anymore. Half the pack or more is always junk. The boiling water trick only goes so far and it's not something you should have to do every.single.time. Figure out decent packaging or I'll buy from the companies who care.

I AM THOR
I was fishing a 3/8 oz War Eagle with a 3.75 Rage Swimmer trailer when I didn't notice that my line wrapped around the tip of my Champion XP with a Shimano SLX XT when I jerked the bait out of veggies near the shoreline. I went to cast again and instead of the bait flying off into the distance my rod jerked out of my hand. It somehow, someway, helicopter spinned above my head and I caught it in mid air with finesse like Thor catching his hammer. Pure talent, guys.

Using lures the way they were not intended
I've heard of this and any lure would have probably worked, but I've pitched a spinnerbait into pockets of shoreline vegetation and caught bass. Kind of like using a jig or Texas rig. I just let it fall. I've also caught bass casting a lipless near the shoreline and just shaking the bait, keeping it off the bottom but not swimming it or moving it much either; like dangling it.

Holding a spinning rod
What a silly argument. Seems that useless arguments are becoming more and more common. In common English the thumb is the only "finger" that's consistently called by its name. The other four are rarely identified specifically, almost always just called fingers. Nobody says, "oh! I just cut my finger" and then shows you their thumb. They show you one of the other four. It's just... Whatever

Lets get jiggy with it!
3/16 or 1/4 oz Bitsy Bug with a Baby Rage Craw or Baby Menace on a 3 power Dobyns with 10 lb Big Game or Yo-Zuri Hybrid 3/8 or 1/2 oz 6th Sense Divine Hybrid with a Rage Craw or Rage Bug on a 5 power Dobyns with 50 lb Power Pro to a 15 lb Big Game or Yo-Zuri Hybrid leader (unless I'm on the banks and then I typically wouldn't carry a 5 power, so I use 3/8 oz on a 4 power with 12 lb Big Game or Yo-Zuri Hybrid)

I don’t like Abu...
In my opinion the only thing that Abu excels at is really good low cost offerings like the Black Max. Amazing reel for the price. As you go up in price they just can't compete with Shimano, Daiwa, or Lew's imo. Several other companies like 13 are arguably better too. Shoot it's even arguable that the rest of the industry has caught up with Pure Fishing on low cost options. The modern Presidents aren't what they used to be. You'd be insane to pick a heavier, lesser quality President ($65) over a Daiwa Legalis ($70). A Daiwa CC 80 at $60 makes a Max series reel look unappealing. I don't know who Pure Fishing really caters to anymore. Pure Garbo.

Holding a spinning rod
Inspired by @NorthernBasser Vanford thread. Every single time I see a photo of someone holding their spinning rod, they've got their fingers locked somewhere between the stem of the reel. I've never paid attention in real life. I have always held my spinning rods as highlighted below (stock photo off Google with my own editing). Anyone else hold their rods like this? I have small hands so I never get close to the hook keeper. I've tried putting the stem between my fingers before and I didn't like it at all.

Favorite Smallmouth bass rivers that you can share?
My favorite rivers are the glorified creeks that don't get any notoriety. The kinds of small rivers tucked away that nobody fishes. I've caught so many 3+ lb SMB out of those.

Yum Pulse on a Spinnerbait - Christie knows what he's doing
Spinnerbait with a Zako has been my best producer since late last week. This morning I switched it up to a Rage Swimmer. Not bad, not bad. I'll certainly take it for a heavily pressured Indiana nature preserve pond.

Crankbait spinning rod
Spinning rods are usually softer than their casting rod counterparts. As long as the spinning rod isn't XF you should be perfectly fine.

Keeping a kit in your vehicle?
Not usually, but when I do pack gear in anticipation of a possible spot somewhere, I don't pack spinning gear with beetle spins. Even here in Indiana a lot of those surprise spots are power fishing ponds. I don't think I'd get out of my car to throw a beetle spin.

Would you dive into the water to retrieve a fishing tool thats NOT a rod or reel?
I would never enter neck deep water to retrieve a pair of pliers.

Does BG vs Nasci = Ford vs Chevy?
The BG is heavier and I personally think it's ugly. I tend to stay at or under $100 for a spinning reel. My go-to reels are the Daiwa Legalis, Shimano Sahara, and Shimano NASCI.

Fun Lures for Bass
I've said it a dozen times on this forum and I'll say it again: lipless crankbaits. Not only is it my confidence bait, but I find it exhilarating. I love to burn it, stop it, yo-yo it, jerk it around, dance it. Anything and everything to trigger that bite. It doesn't get old. It catches a ton of fish which is obviously very fun. Being a treble bait, you almost hold your breath while you fight the fish, one mistake and it's over. The fight is intense, completely unlike skiing a fish in as fast as you can with like a jig or Texas rig. It's got all the elements for me: - Entertaining to fish - Catches a lot of fish - Very engaging fight There was one when my lady and I were out on the water jamming with perhaps one too many White Claws having been consumed (don't @ me, I have no shame). Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift came over her Pandora playlist and I was friggin dancing to it like a tipsy moron, making her laugh. Started fishing my lipless to the beat of the song and caught a decent bass doing so. I love that bait man. I feel like I can do anything with it.

Light Texas rig-bead or no bead?
I used a bead when I first started. Over time I guess I got lazy and stopped doing it somewhere along the way. I've noticed absolutely no difference.

Lb test for jigs?
12 lb Big Game and Yo-Zuri Hybrid has always been more than enough for me.

The wrong one
I said I wouldn't do it, but I have no self control. ? I bought the 683c like a junkie. Full of shame I was explaining to my fiance what I'd done like a 10 year old caught doing something bad. This woman told me it's ok and that when she bought me the one she knew that we were buying two. ??

rod choices
The Dobyns tip is what I love most about them. Perfect for my fishing. A close second would be the warranty since I'm a kayak and bank angler. It's so comforting knowing that my investments are mostly protected from mishaps that happen on the banks and while loading and unloading the kayak and transporting the gear in a not so safe way. All Dobyns for life. Dobyns rods are more balanced than they are light and apparently that makes all the difference, but honestly I've never once even noticed weight or balance. I take my capable body fishing while I can.

Lures that lost popularity?
The spinnerbait has been so unsuccessful for me over the last decade that I would have almost rather cut my hands off than fish it. But that has changed as of this week. I hadn't even bothered to fish one at all since maybe 2018 or 2019. Conditions have been very tough this week, so in desperation I started throwing War Eagles and have caught about a dozen bass on them this week, including a pretty good one yesterday. I am adding a Zako trailer which I hadn't done before so maybe that's the difference, but I sure am loving it.
