Dynamite 2 hours on the water before the rain pushed me off. A bunch of small bass, but the bite was hot, and it was fun. To be catching them like this on October 28th in Indiana is a blessing. I'll take any and all that I can get. The day started off with, surprisingly, 3 crappies in a row on a Megabass Vision 110 in Pearl, including my PB crappie. *Not my cigarette butt that will show up in a few of these pictures. Sorry, but I wasn't touching that disgusting thing. Crappie 1: Crappie 2: PB Crappie (3 looks): After this, I found the bass. For the next 20 minutes I was smoking them on the same bait. I caught 5 in this time frame. Things died down for awhile after this, and then came the rain and moderate winds. That's when I switched to a 3/8 oz War Eagle Spinnerbait and smoked 3 more in about 5 minutes time closer to the dam where I saw them busting bait fish. The rain started to get too heavy to tolerate at 50*F with wind so I had to call it after about 2 hours of fishing. I couldn't find their parents or older siblings today, but I had a ton of fun and added a new PB, albeit not exactly the PB I was looking for.

Damage to the foot wasn't as serious as originally thought to be. Slowly but surely healing up without intervention. Still mostly immobilized in a chair along the banks, but at least now I can tolerate standing for short periods of time and gingerly hobbling to a new spot. Vision 110 is doing all the work for me. Caught 5 yesterday, including a decent one. It's getting pretty out there...and cold.

Bait Monkey Defeated.
I enjoy my gear and tackle collecting almost as much as I enjoy the act of fishing and catching fish. Everything about the sport is very good for my mind, heart, and soul.

Aaron Martens update....
6 minutes ago Brent Chapman and his wife aired a live stream and said they spent the day with him and he has NOT passed away. They just left his home an hour ago. They said the information on social media is FALSE and that social media is crazy.

Strike King KVD Jerkbaits
A few weeks ago I bought a couple of Vision 110s after a skunking because that's just not going to fly for fall fishing. I never thought I would, but I'm glad I did. Since then I've been wearing them out on 110s, War Eagles, and Texas Rigged Senkos. As I'm sitting in my cripple chair along the bank yesterday (foot injury) I lost both 110s. I hooked into what I believe would have been my PB and I gave her too much drag and she wrapped me up around a log. Vision 110 and bass gone. THE VERY NEXT CAST I decided that the same spot I just got wrapped up in would be intelligent to throw to or something. Annnnnnd second 110 lost to the log. Believe it or not I wasn't even mad. I laughed to myself and mumbled, "Why are you the way that you are?" So this evening I'm hobbling around Cabela's to get a couple more 110s. They only had 2 colors left in stock, but thankfully 1 of those colors was Pearl, which has been successful for me, so I grabbed 2 of them. I forget the other color, but I thought ehhh I'll try it. So I grabbed one of those too. Then I turned around and saw a shelf of Strike King KVD jerkbaits for $10 each. I promptly put the 3rd Vision 110 back on the shelf and grabbed 2 of the KVDs in Sexy Shad. So, how are these KVD jerkbaits?

The inurig. Winner or loser?
That's the thing for me too. Way too much work for it to get blown up after a fish. Then what? See you back in the water in a half hour?

I found out how some guys are casting 100 yards
And yet people will swear to you that they're casting the length of a football field with bass gear. It's truly bizarre.

I found out how some guys are casting 100 yards
In searching for how others set up their SLX reels (not exactly what I was looking for since I have the XT version) because I run mine with 1 internal brake and a setting of 1 on the external and still not even getting fluff on either of my two SLX XTs which I found ridiculous (in a good way), I found this guy. His 120 ft cast was calculated at "just over 100 yards". Lololol ? So that's how guys are casting 100 yards. 120 ft is 100 yds in their world. Everyone should play or attend a football game at some point, to take a good, long, hard look at the field.

I started the season with a broken hand, and now I'm wrapping up the season (hopefully the weather holds out and gives me 2-3 more weeks) with a messed up foot (tendon and/or ligament damage, awaiting MRI). Neither injury did or will stop me from fishing. My wonderful fiance got me set up along the bank before she went to run errands for a few hours. The poor woman was carrying 2 rods, a tackle bag, and a chair while I crutched alongside her to a spot I would choose to stay immobilized in a chair in and fish. I caught a dozen~ 12-14 inchers on a mixture of Wacky Rigs, Texas Rigged Culprit Worms, Texas Rigged Senkos, and Vision 110. I managed one good one to make my day. I've caught a handful of 3-4 pounders this month, but this October fish has meant the most considering the circumstances. It hit a 5" Watermelon Red and Black Flake Senko Texas Rigged on a 4/0 EWG with a 1/8oz weight, hopped along bottom. The Show Must Go On

And why would what we say be of any more value than what a pro says? Your post essentially flowed into "don't necessarily believe the pro, but ask here and believe us, but also don't believe what you read"- Favorite spinnerbait weight and color
3/8 oz with a Zako or Rage Swimmer trailer is the only way I've gotten on a good spinnerbait bite in many years.- Setting The Hook And It Rockets Back At You....?
I had a treble bait come flying at me so fast that I didn't have time to react. It slightly stuck into the skin just below my eye. It was easy to remove and didn't go deep or leave much damage. But half an inch higher and I'd have been in real trouble. I never fish without glasses now.- Randy's at it again...
I probably know the names of more YouTube fishermen than I do professional fishermen.- Free Structure Pipe- Check where they are laying hi-speed Internet
I just don't understand why the earth is in the condition it is now. Humans: *dumps plastic into water for sport*- Done fishing for bass this year
Sounds like he found the pattern and you were too stubborn to switch/follow.- Randy's at it again...
Social media is everything these days. Social media is where you market and sell. I'd argue far fewer people watch a professional tournament than they do YouTube fishermen. Almost every bass fishing personality I watch has thousands to tens of thousands of views on each video they post. When I revisit a video months or years later they sometimes have over 100k views. And that's just one video from one personality.- Ned rid, dropshot spinning reel under $75
Imma keep telling you all every single time that the Daiwa Legalis (get the 2500) is an amazing reel at $70. It can't be beat here.- Looking for rod
Another benefit of being all Dobyns - always available.- Some days are diamonds
If you can pass the arbitrary test, you're not walking sideways unless you're 40 lbs.- How fast can you reel ?
I'll clock my lipless 40 next time I'm out- would like to lighten my load of plastic baits...
I want it by design. I can make it different by popping the rod and how I retrieve the bait. I don't want it different in which I don't control and in which it always results in fewer to no strikes. - Don't Believe Everything You Read/Hear
