Why Curado 150 MGL?
It fits in right in the middle of the CEO's billfold

Bleeding Bass and Mountain Dew
Until they stop pooping senkos and power worms and whatever else.... Nobody has room to judge. I can tell you no serious bleeder has ever survived for me. I've never tried Dew and don't even want to because I don't care to carry it with me honestly, but if it works, it works.

Uses for standard 4in fluke?
Texas Rig it and use it as intended for pond LMB and stream SMB.

Shimano reels with no anti-reverse???
Modern drag systems don't require back reeling whatsoever. If you want to do it and have the switch, fine, but you're paying for that drag (and reduced weight) more than anything else.

Spot stealing
I'm speaking in generalities and stereotypes here, so nobody get offended by thinking I'm talking about you or all people. The tournament anglers think they're superior to the normal sport anglers and that they own spots. Similarly, bass boaters of all types think they own the water and that pleasure boaters shouldn't be around them at all. Pleasure boaters don't pay attention to anglers or give them reasonable space, like they're utterly oblivious. We all have a lot we can work on.

Will a baitcasting rod and reel setup help me with bank fishing (over a spinning rod and reel)?
My thumb is very educated and backlashing on casts the traditional way isn't the issue for me nor the primary problem that requires another spool of line. With bank fishing it's the trees and brush that can grab you and ruin the day if you don't have more line whether it's in the form of a spool, another reel, or even extra rods (limited for bank anglers).

Pulled the trigger - Dobyns Fury 703c and 704c
Never once had one break.

orange lures
On the river I grew up on it was known to a small circle of us that if you wanted to catch quality SMB, you threw cranks with orange in them.

Pulled the trigger - Dobyns Fury 703c and 704c
A Dobyns 3 power is my favorite type of rod because of the power finesse style of fishing I do, but a Dobyns 4 power in the Fury and especially the Sierra is really a perfect rod. They say H/F, but at a realistic MH+/MF-F they let you do most standard things very, very well.

Finding them without technology
Your GPS/map app on your phone will tell you where you are on the map/lake. Just keep it open and don't put a destination in. Your blue dot identifying your location will move as you move. Of course it's not perfect, but close enough and better than nothing. I use my Google maps when pleasure boating so we always know where we are.

Zoom finally clears the air...
I only use their Trick Worms and Flukes, but those are HUGE producers that aren't replicated by anyone else near the same to me. That would have been a bummer to lose. Thank God it was all nonsense.

Big swimbaits on spinning gear?
A rod rated to 3oz should be fine. The thing about spinning rods is that (for example) a MH isn't the same as a MH casting rod. It's noticably a lot weaker in my experience, with more of a parabolic bend. So just make sure you can set a swimbait hook. Also, retrieving a moving bait with a spinning reel feels like doodoo once you've done so with casting gear. If it feels fine to you and you can set the hook and it can truly handle the weight, no reason it can't work.

Bleeding Bass and Mountain Dew
We poke holes in their face and temporarily suffocate them, sometimes we kill them. We feed them bait that isn't meant for consumption at all, that they all too often eat when you lose them off the hooks (looking at you, soft plastics, and the bass regularly found pooping them out). We torture them in every way. But it's soda pop that's the bad guy? I don't use the stuff for bleeders and won't, but yeah, come on.

orange lures
Never throw the Green Pumpkin Orange TRD for river SMB if you like catching a lot of SMB, and never throw a 956 Senko if you like catching the LMB that others aren't. Definitely stay away from squarebills with orange in them too; nobody needs that much weight in the bag.

Bait/gear monkey and an unused rod - new reel?
Yep, and it's pretty backwards in general. The rod should be the more expensive quality part of the combo.

Daiwa Spinning Reel question
Lol how stupid

Any interest in trapping?
Only a sick animal refuses to drink water. That's probably why it found such an odd and secure place to hide... To die.

Is there anything a DC reel can't do?
Yep, they can't educate you properly, specifically your thumb.

Will a baitcasting rod and reel setup help me with bank fishing (over a spinning rod and reel)?
A baitcasting bank angler should never leave the house without a spool of line in the bag. Learned many years ago.

Ned rig with weed guard
Those should be called "hard object guards". They're trash in the weeds, but help in rocks and wood. If I'm fishing the river with a normal mushroom head, I'm losing them every other cast. The mushroom heads with two wires last so much longer. The hook-up ratio of the wired ones is really bad though. If you remove one of the wires it gets better while maintaining a lot of its resistance to hard stuff.

Your fishing success
None of those. It's locating fish, especially active fish; and putting the bait in the right spot. Notice how I didn't say the right bait in the right spot; this is because a bait in the right spot is bound to be eaten no matter what it is. Not even color matters. Find the bass and put it on them. That's the key above all else. All the other stuff is just stuff.
-
Bass missing crankbait?
Is that combo just a standard MH/F? That, and especially with braid, will pull those trebles right out of their mouth. It's also possible you were hitting something and thinking it was fish. I just reel into the fish when they take my crankbaits.

When to use a jerkbait.
Do you never use top water then? You also don't have to use them in deeper water.

Daiwa Fuego CT Bait Cast Reel - Still Best Bang For The Buck ?
The Fuego isn't a cheap reel, and most of us want a garage full of 6 figure cars and multi million dollar homes, but, ummm, people are generally limited. I'm glad you can buy exactly what you want. Most of us buy the best we can afford.
