  1. I was annoyed she had fish on the stringer as at that time i had yet to catch a fish.
  2. yeah, i told her i was going to put it on a bass fishing forum that i belong to because i want the members to see that this method works for some folks. She was fine with it.
  3. great question that i didnt ask her. I would bet she turns it the right way to make a cast as i dont get how else she could do it.
  4. yes, but she can put the handle on the opposite side, she told me she just doesnt want to do that because this way is more comfortable to her. She always has people come up to her and tell her its wrong. I didnt tell her i just asked her why she uses it upside down.
  5. I fished this dropoff from the main dam, maybe a 2 foot drop and a total washing machine. For the heck of it i casted right into it with a square bill floating crank and it tumbled for a few seconds. I couldnt feel the lure getting washed around so i wasnt expecting much to happen but maybe i lose the lure. Well slap me silly as i started to reel it in it had heavy tension and i thought snag in the rocks or hooked on a clump of zebra musscles. All of a sudden a fish jumps out of that heavy whitewash and i figured fish on and yes indeed. This smallie in this current made for a very fun catch especially using a 7 ft medium slow tipped rod which is the berkley cherrywood.
  6. At the river yesterday i came upon this woman fishing and couldnt resist asking her why she holds her rig upside down and if she likes using it that way. She told me she knows its upside down, she can put the handle on the other side but has been fishing like this for many years and she catches fish. She allowed me to take a pic for bass resource so you all can see that some of us just like to do the opposite of whats right and still have an exciting day of fishing.
  7. The most important item to pack is my headlamp, without it i am just walking in pitch black on rocks and cant even find my tackle box. Bring extra batteries also.
  8. Wife and i went to the dam in north dakota today and she caught 5 walleye on Gulp Alive 3.25" minnows on a 1/8 oz ball head jig and bobber. I caught a tiny walleye ?. We did catch alot of smallmouth, wife again using gulp minnows and me berkley flat worms on jig bobber also crank baits, and silver cotten cordell rattletrap. I also caught a nice white bass below the the dam on an old creek chub that i bought as a kid in 1970 and this is the first time i ever caught a fish with it. And of course my day wouldnt be complete at the dam if i didnt catch one of these dinks grrrrr. I caught her on a cotten cordell silver sided rattletrap. She fought and kept pulling drag so i loosened it up a bit so she wouldnt break off. At one point she ran a good 10 yards after she seen me so i just let her play herself out. There was a friend of the nd yak angler fishing next to me, he had a muskie net and netted her. This muskie was thick and best of all i caught her on my new 7 ft, $15.00 clearance sale Berkley cherrywood rod.
  9. Chicken heads, rooster heads. The best tasting part of the chicken head is the brain, so they tell me. It is soft white and succulent. You pick the brain out with a tooth pick or suck it out. Here is a pic of my wifes friend eating the the head. I came close to eating a balut but looking at the beak, feathers, and tiny feet i just couldnt get it out of my head the feeling of those parts sliding down my throat and touching the taste buds on my tongue. And this is in thailand, no i did not eat the centapede or any of the insects in the buffet.
  10. My 2 favorite ways to eat my wifes mothers cooking.

My honda has a very loud weird sounding horn for its size. When in a left hand turn lane yielding to oncoming traffic, the bozos who let wide gaps open up but still dont turn drive me nuts. I may be the 3rd car in line waiting to turn and i will lay on the horn to where the 2nd car in line gets nervous thinking the first car bozo thinks its him. Just watch them in their rear view mirrors.
  12. use a pliers to cinch up.
  13. I also use ewg keel hooks with the spiral lock and find the hook point doesnt sit very evenly in the fluke. Its the angle from the spiral to the hook point that is messed up. The point always wants to pop out from when I texposed it tearing up the back of the fluke. I find that regular ewg hooks texposed in the fluke the hook point is more in line with the back of the fluke and wont pop out.
  14. I found this quote from 2008, bass resource. Guest muddy Guests Posted March 29, 2008 It's Wal MArt stuff branded FLW, they have a contract with eachother. Several years back they had Rods,Reels, Tackle Boxes etc etc. Maybe they are gonna put the line out again
  15. Bought this rod at a estate sale for $2.00. FLW-by wallmrt label. Gonna rig it up for my wife to give her another rod to use other than her old faithfull ugly-stick GX2. This rod is extremely light, the way she fishes i wont be surprised if she breaks it the first time lifting a fish onto shore.
  16. I caught this greenie on the keel weighted ewg fluke and the brownie on a weightless ewg fluke.
  17. i will lay here and ponder about what the angry man would have done if i was wading out from the bank chest deep. Would he fish right through me?
  18. The homeless here in fargo live down on the river that runs right through the city in the summer along with the methheads. I came across their camps when walking the banks last year and while casting anyone could have come up behind me and clobbered me and toss me into the river to die.
  19. I was stationed at Jax Naval Air station, I was a Seabee in CBU-410 from 1980 to 81, which now has been decomissioned and another CBU has replaced it. Orange Park was a town over and had a greyhound race track. Jacksonville was a blast back then as the jax beach area wasnt even developed yet, just a bunch of neat little hole in the wall bars and a few large hotels.
  20. "Live on Patrol" is on tv again after a long haiatus. You get a good look at whats wrong with society when watching this show.
  21. only if its a good clearance deal 50% or more.
  22. Speeding and red light running is now common in little old hodunk fargo, nd. I drive the speed limit no matter the flow of traffic. It ticks so many people off that they hammer the throttle and zoom around me even on residential streets. Moments after the display of their lead foot most times i end up next to or behind them at a red light or stop sign.
