Uuummm i am pretty sure if you were to get shot in the eye with polycarbonite lenses in your frames the lens would end up in your brain.

Are you brand loyal ?
I am loyal to pfleuger as i have 5 of their spinning reels and now I have a good parts source from a tackle shop a phone call away so i am sticking with them. Rods, i buy the cheapest that i feel will work for my application only after countless minutes of my in store bending test comparing side to side against top brands. The most expensive rod i own is the Ugly Stick Carbon Lite graphite at $80.00, the cheapest and very effective rod cost $15.00.

Has anyone experienced a much tougher season than last year, or do you think it’s just because summer is generally tough?
One big thing the drought did for me was led me to try river fishing around the dams and wading along the banks. I actually now prefer the river over the lake because the variety of fish i catch has increased. I am bored of lmb and prefer smallies which are very abundant in the rivers in minnesota and north dakota along with big pike and muskie in the baldhill dam in N.D.

Last year 2021 the drought in minnesota dried up some of my wading and banking lakes but also made some low lakes great for lmb by wading. 2022 with the lakes that i fish by wading and bank now being full again have ruined my lmb fishing due to massive weed growth that makes one lake look like a golf course. The lily pads i so loved to fish while wading and walking amongst them have been overtaken by heavy weeds makin it impossible to wade the pads. Last year 2021 drought lake very minimal weeds in the pads, great fishing as i could get way out there and wade.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Labor day come 1pm wife and I decided to go fishin for blue gills, she wanted fish in her diet this week so yeah i was cool with that. We went to a favorite lake to bankfish but the white caps were crashing the bank so we went to another lake and wind was under controll. We wernt doin any catching and were thinkin about leaving at 6.30 but i said its gonna happen and sure enough at 7.30 pm the gills attacked us. Wife was using gulp minnows on a tiny ball head jig and i was using for an experiment some small plastic berkley max scent minnows that i never used and were being neglected. I ripped the heads off to shorten them up and put them on a small black fuzzy jig thinking nothins gonna bite this odd lookin setup but bite they did. Wife also used gulp minnows with bitten off tails and still caught bluegills.

When i was in Hong Kong a couple years ago i bought some Ray Bans, while being fitted the sales guy told me to not use dish soap as it can harm the lens. A year ago at another eye glass place in the usa i was again told to not use dishwashing soap as it affects the lens coatings. Never wash your car with dishsoap because it strips off the wax if you previously waxed it.

The latest sale thread
Was at fleetfarm today to buy some gulp minnows and i checked out the rod section and found 1 rod that had a big CLEARANCE SALE sticker $15.00 on it, Regular $29.99. It was all alone, the only one on the rack. So i bought it, the berkley cherrywood 7 ft meduim spinning and i will use it as a walleye rod which means i will catch everything that swims. When i was checking it out compared to some other 7 ft mediums it has a alot of parabolic bend in it 2/3 of the way down from the tip, more so than the other rods i compared it to. Now the cherrywood is a composite/hybrid extremely light in weight while the other rods compared were graphite. Anyway i bought it and it gives me something new to play around with.

I’m impressed with my GX2
My favorite rod to this day is the UglyStick Carbon 7ft medium fast. Its 100% graphite, very light weight. I have fished with it for 2 solid years now, I abuse it and it still loves me as i do it. I caught my biggest fish of the year with it in river current. https://www.purefishing.com/carbon-spinning-rod-1509898?variant=1500289

Eating healthy..
Last year burger king had a promotion for their veggie burger whopper. It tasted terrible and i couldnt finish it. I dont think they sell it anymore in minn and dakota? Wife and i have been eating alot of veggies from our garden this past 3 weeks, its included as a side dish with our regular meals. What i have noticed from this is my weight has dropped and my bowell movments have been larger. The eggplant does a good clensing job and i cheat by eating it breaded and fried with a slice of cheese on it.

Reel grease
I dont have any staining problems because my reels dont stain and if they did would i care? probably not. I take care of the functionability of the reel but fish em like i stole em. I fish the supreme which was giving me problems from the factory in low temps freezing water. It was binding during reel in every few turns. Tore it down cleaned out all factory grease, did not grease the ball bearings with hot sauce but did so with drops of Rem oil. I also didnt glob the lube inside like a stuffed taco, i put in the right places sparingly. Problem immediatly gone. Was it the factory lube? was there a tiny piece of debris i couldnt see as the problem? Dont really know for sure. But thats why I like hot sauce, its the first lube i seen on display at fleetfarm at a good price in a nice compact size, ingrediants that convinced me and the tubes labeling sealed the deal. But most of all it fixed my reel so i am now a advocate for hot sauce.

I hate spinning gear
True, take a baseball pitcher, some pitchers can throw a great slider and others cant, others can get strikeouts with a better changup, fastball or a great curve. The pitchers that can throw all 4 pitches and get outs make 50 million dollars a year while the others make 3 to 10 million a year. Which one are you?
