  1. My wife uses a texas rig with a bullet weight, 3/0 ewg hook and a berkley general in the river rocks. But she learned fast that bullet weights get hung easilly in the rocks so she experimented puting a bobber above it and keeps it just hittin the rocks or above them and she catches bass, pike, walleye. She does not like or use the wackey rig.
  2. I was an avid watcher of his fishing channel untill he aired that episode using his live scope and caught that fish. Just didnt feel authentic to fish like that so i deleted his channel and never been back.
  3. Thats why i like going to the smaller dams here in north dakota and minnesota to fish where i have caught smb, lmb, walleye, gills, crappie, pike, muskie..... no boats or kayaks allowed, no boat wakes to swamp me while wearing waders, no loud fouled language rap music carrying over the water. All i hear is rushing water, wide open banks to walk and fish from and very few people are there fishing due to the steep rocky banks to get to the waters edge.
  4. No sea sickness ever from riding or fishing from all the different boats in the philipines but when i get home and into the shower or lay in bed at night after a day on the sea i feel like i am rolling along with the waves.
  5. good morning, good afternoon and good evening, happy birthday.
  6. Meet my little friend, never fish without one.
  7. I would be worried if any members met me they wouldnt like my tell it like i see it attitude.
  8. Thank you, when you least expect it, good things happen, i caught the musky on a small square bill. Runnin it over and smashin the rocks just off of this 2 foot wall drop which kicked up the current down from the main dam.
  9. Being you and your wife drive the tesla and dont pay a tax for fuel which goes to fix the roads what does california have up their sleeve to tax the electricity you put into your tesla? just be careful and dont fall off your bike.
  10. Went to Baldhill dam in North Dakota today fishin for smallies and walleye. No walleye but i caught 3 smallies on spook, lipless crank and a chatter bait. I got snagged up on a dink smallie right on the shoreline and had to lay out on the rocks, put my arm into the water and dig him out. I then got snagged, broke off a chatterbait and pulled out my terminal tackle from my carry pouch and reriged. I never wade or bank fish without terminal tackle on me. So then i was going to put on an old 30 lb fluoro snelled leader that was pretty nicked up and then throw a square bill in around the rocks but decided to not chance it and put on an 80 lb leader. Good thing because i caught this dink. This muskie fought for its life and at first i didnt know what i caught, maybe snagged a carp i thought. I wrestled with him for a few minutes and when i finally seen his sides i yelled out muskie!!!! I got him in without a net but did get a good braid cut on my finger from tryin to get him up onto the shore. I then walked back to the big dam and caught 2 pike. The wife caught 18 smallies most all were dinks, 17 bullheads and 1 sunfish.
  11. Us retired may well be driving our electric scooters to a side hussle if social security ever gets cut off.
  12. Met a kid fishing on our Green Way Wisc. stay, fishing off of a dock up on Sturgeon bay on lake Michigan. He was catching gobies while panfishing and told me they are an invasive species and he then wound up and tossed one onto the boat ramp saying everybody fishing hates them and they dont make good bait. Is that true for that area that they are not a good bait fish to rig up?
  13. Ever wonder what a guy could catch fishing inside the ballast holds of a giant ship? didnt think so.
  14. Best to ask the captain of the Exxon Valdez.
  15. Yeah right, probably picking up all the snagged lures for themselves.
  16. Saturday the weather was near perfect, rain clouds hanging low, nice chop onto the bank, water vis good, all except one thing. The temp dropped 20 degrees from fridays hot humid sunny weather. Wife and i caught 6 bass from the bank and wading. It was tough fishing and it was crunch time so i throw the berkley kingtail on using a straight worm hook t-rigged and picked up a couple fish. This kingtail has turned out to be my last resort bait this year.
  17. were you fishing from the rocky shoreline this day?
  18. Fished on saturday for the first time in 23 days. We were on vacation and while on vacation i did my stretching, yoga every day and my body workouts. So saturday while wading, bank fishing stepping on big rocks walking up the steep bank, casting, jerking, ripping, my body from the hands to my ankles were very sore during the latter part of the day and when we got home. I woke up sunday feelng sore and did all my yoga stretches and am fine. I learned that all the exercises, stretching, weight training helps me tremendously with healing better after an outing. But when I am away for an extended period from actually grinding it out in the elements from the bank to wading that there is no exercise program that can replicate every muscle twitched, stretched, overused.....Just walking on the boulders and trying to balance your body wearing tackle bags slung over the shoulder, tackle belts around the waist and a rod in your hand just isnt going to happen in the gym.
  19. Forgetting that this day i am wearing hip waders instead of the usual chest waders and then going to deep.
  20. Back in the early 1970 the city woud come by with a truck with a big blower on the back spraying mosquitoes. Us kids would ride our bikes into the fog coming out of the blower, to this day i wonder what chemicals i inhaled at the age of 10.
  21. I tried this twice, the melon never absorbed much of the booze except right around the hole, the bottle was still full so did i do something wrong?
  22. this year i started to wear a mosquito head net and it works great. I then put on a heavy jacket and wear thick pants which i have at the ready in the trunk. The only part they can get at are my hands wearing very light gloves with the fingers cut off the skeeters will attack the tops of my hands.
  23. Very true, dated a woman back in 1988 whom owned a toyota supra she bought new in 1986. She told me she has a terrible noise coming from the front of the car. I asked her what is she doing about it and she told me she just turns the volume up on the radio. I checked the oil and there was no oil on the dipstick. She brought the car to the dealer and the complete top end needed replacing which cost her back then $1200.00.
  24. keep your friends close and your enemies closer. All my friends were women. I am married now so i dont have anymore friends.
