  1. i have had the best days with a Pop-X. i bought a few PopMax, but have yet to throw them often. they cast a mile!! i am ready for a Delta Striper fest. i own a Berkeley that is fishless. nothing!! not sure it is even in my box anymore.
  2. once a week. best i can manage these days. spring time, i get out but i cant stay out because the afternoon winds.
  3. i see that lake in videos from THE HOOKUP TACKLE. very cool.
  4. i would use the tungsten weights. from stories, i heard that lake it is all about the boulders and rock formations? i love the feel of tungsten on rocks. you know what you are feeling. i pretty much always use 20lb braid with 10lb flouro. leader length similar..tag in is about 12" for starters and i usually go shorter. and i would have a fistfull of finesse jigs..:D good luck!!! that is a dream lake for me. one day!! someday! in my kayak.
  5. to be clear. chock the trailer tires. the hitch ball is a sphere, so leveling the truck and trailer shouldn't be a concern because the ball is the same dimension all around anyways. a slight angle..it's a sphere to the coupler. I think it is under tension from the trailer wanting to roll down the slight incline, putting a lateral load on the ball.
  6. "action before motivation." i had someone tell me this, and it struck a cord. sometimes our brains need a reminder to the stuff we enjoy.
  7. totally guessing here. can you chock the trailer wheels so you can take the forward/reverse load off the ball? maybe the trailer coupler is hard up on one side or another? get it perfectly centered?
  8. i use Sufix. came from PowerPro. no other reason except i wanted white braid.
  9. they should give us the first two packs for free..then once we are hooked...game over. we go nuts. hahaha.. i hope you have the same crazy success.
  10. i like the garden box in the background.. and i think balancing a rod like that makes no sense. things change when there is a bait/lure at the end anyways. right now, it looks to be clipped into the bait keeper?
  11. @thomas15thanks friend. this is nothing to get my panties all wadded up about. just stuff...no biggie. i cant believe more stuff wont happen in life..cant sweat the details. haha
  12. i think i own $3739.17 worth of Dolive Beavers now. just about ready for pitching and flipping the California Delta...just a bit more for reserve and i am GTG.
  13. Texas rig, because everyone knows everything is bigger on Texas. (okay, that joke stumbled)
  14. ugly stick or Shakespear(?) is playing the numbers game. works for them, and the people that buy them. last time i used one was dragging a ball of salmon eggs on the FeatherRiver. big giant salmon. it was fine, but a big salmon in a fast river is about as subtle as a car crash. you know it's happening. bicycle guys have a similar discussion on their forums about Huffy bikes
  15. I pitched a Fat Ika at the edge of some downed timber. I gave it slack to let it slip away from me. I picked it up, and gave it slack again. What happened next is unclear. I felt that buzz and tug of a fish, but my very lame hookset resulted in watching a fantastic bass spit Ms. Ika. I realized I need practice. It’s something I want to explore. It was cool to see the bait drift away from me. Cool.
  16. This is my last MAN-MEAL. my wife is back tomorrow. in Hong Kong they serve this at diners. It’s a pork and corn sauce. It’s so good. Comfort food 101 for me.
  17. He did. As did I. Both negative. We both got diagnosed with brutal allergies. My meds are finally staring to work. Thanks.
  18. Strange week. my truck is more than likely totaled. Hit by an uninsured DRUNK driver. I’m unhurt, and I’m happy as heck about it. Truck still runs like a Swiss watch. I double checked my bed-cap won’t fly off in the wind, adjusted my bed extender to compensate for the bent hitch/frame, and went fishing! No way I let some knuckle-head ruin my weekend. I had a blast. Solo and laughing by myself, sometimes at myself. fishing was on fire. There was a herd of elk feeding IN the water and they took water clarity from vodka to chocolate milk in a matter of minutes. I fished the fringes and crushed them. One dude in an aluminum boat parked on top of the stump I was casting to and asked me questions. Haha. The fish vacated quick. Oh well. I never unloaded my truck. Maybe CLEARLAKE tomorrow.
  19. here is the update. i was way more effective with the Tex-Rig. the Free rig hangs up on that algae, and fine grass every cast. i had to pull it off every time. i did catch some awesome fish. but the tex rig just slips thru any type of grass better. maybe on rocky stuff. grassy,,..no thanks.
  20. to update this story. Driver was not found in any car insurance databases. the car he was driving..you guessed it. the policy was elasped by the real owner. i am on my own. i have a tiny uninsured motorist policy the insurance lobbiest secured. i only get a tiny $3500. i am tempted to put it on "black" at the casino. hahaha.. whatever. my wife comes back into the country Monday. we will discuss my next truck then. in the meantime, i am not lettting a drunk idiot consume my last free weekend. i am going fishing tomorrow. my bent up truck is loaded for FUN!! it drives and steers fine. the bed is bent a bit. again..whatever. it is FISHING TIME!!! thanks you all.
  21. TW came thru and i got a box of sinkers this morning. the Ryugi sinkers are sick. almost like jewerly. i've watched all the videos i can find, and i have a fist full of tasty looking baits. i will go back to my crystal clear lake, just so i can see the rig in action underwater. i will use a creature and a flat bluegill profile thing as my bait offerings. i have my fall back Tex rig sinkers..just in case. but i am fairly optimistic this is gonna work.
  22. thanks sir!! sucks that i wanted to get a new truck on my own terms. i had prepared mentally to keep mine for at least one more year. they might fix it. dunno..i am not a body shop. or an estimator. i dont mind either way.
  23. i got my wacky system down.thanks. i hate the orings. i use tubing, which fits me better. my style. it allows me to orient the hook in either direction. parallel or perpendicular to the worm as needed.
