Color for polarized sunglasses?
here is Costa's lens colors and descriptions for best uses. easy to understand. i applied it to other manufacturers and it seem to run parallel. https://www.costadelmar.com/en-us/performance-technology/lenses

BRUTAL. so brutal, i resorted to TROLLING.
not understanding where you are going with this. i also dont find a Carollina rig all that enjoyable to me, and i much rather fish off my kayak than my friends bass boat. we all have a "pecking order" to things we do and like. i dont enjoy trolling, but i know it is a very viable way to cover water and find elusive fish. the BEST thing about trolling is running 3 kayaks side by side within S-talking distance and just joking around. i do love how a fish hitting a trolling bait pretty much stops all forward motion of the bait. there is no denying a fish hit. i am aware my two PB's come from my friends bass boat, and not my kayak. i want to top them off my tiny plastic boat. its just me. one of my friend ONLY troll. if you saw him cast, you would understand why. i wouldnt have bet against him anyday. he cleans up.

Stumped for sure
You’ve seen that NDyak guy real life?

Overrated whiskey...
i dont drink much. but when i do have a sip, i have been drinking local. i love the small batch local makers. i live in Sonoma County and we have a distillary called Sonoma County Distillary. great booze makers, not so great booze namers. they have a small batch rye that is fantastic.

Color for polarized sunglasses?
I used the Costa website. Best color explanation for me. I ended up with green mirror and silver mirror. I’m lake fishing. Sight fishing in bright sunlight typically.

removing trebles from hardbaits, and going with regular hooks?
this weekend i hooked a decent bass. as it came boatside, i looked at all those trebles and the thought of netting it with my net seemed like a bad idea. i have the Everlast net, and while i love it,. it seems to have a gravitational pull to all things treble hooks. i thought about lipping it. nope. boatflip? yea, right..eventually given enough time, it shook free. i said outloud, "easy release!" in an effort to make myself think it was okay anyone ever put single hooks on hardbaits? is that a thing? i am going to go after a protected trout (Lahotan Cutthroat) this fall, and i think a tiny jerk bait will smoke em, but i think trebles (even barbless) might not be allowed. i still have to slow read the regulations.

i fish out of a kayak. i keep it short, since it can clip the water, the kayak, my other rods, if i leave a lot of dangle. i see some people with LOTS of line prehanging before the cast. i never really thought much about it except this past weekend i hooked my net on a cast and it was fairly ugly. hahah..

Can anyone help me with spooling this Daiwa reel?
@Ohioguy25 Kudos for successfully picking out a deep backlash. wind is a mofo. oddly, in some conditions fish seem to be more active in the wind, so it is good to have some skills to cast into it. i turn up the brake, and turn DOWN my own distance expectations.

Steez Utility Player vs Megabass X-Bites
i hid my X-bite money in a ping pong paddle. i am shocked how difficult it is for me to let go of the cash. haha..it is definately NOT burning a hole in my pocket that i thought it was. i played with the X-bites when i bought my Triza at the store in phx. i made a mental note to circle back and buy that rod "someday". i'll plunk the cash down soon.

Lake Sonoma. jetskis, skiboats, bikinis...okay one wake boat was filled with nothing but dudes, and i risked being swamped by a "drive-by" when i asked them, "how's the sausage party going?". the fish were not biting anything i was offering. moving from place to place, i deperately sent out a X-Nanahan jerkbait behind me. you know what? i caught a 3lb bass in 200 feet of water...and i got my first Steelhead! a whopper. i didnt take a pic, because i didnt know it was a Steelhead. duh. plus the water was turbulent from the big boats and watercraft. better to unhook quickly and keep moving. a steelhead fights obviously. big head shakes. very cool. we ended up catching a good amount, all catch and release. and several dinky bass when i casted the Nanahan towards shore and twitched it back to me.

Donuts--Doughnuts.....my favorite snack
there is a Vietnamese family around here that cranks out a fantastic donut. Dunkin-D. my stepdads best friend owned a chain of them, and he would give me "free-dozen" cards by the fist full. marginal donuts, but admittedly they are the ones i grew up with. crispyCremes are soft and pillowy, but way over the top in sweetness. coyingly sweet. cloyingly? whatever. if they would make me a batch glazed on only one side.... nope.

It's got the power!

Standing and Motoring Down the Bank in Kayak
i see guys using spot lock and that slow tracking thing all the time. me, i use the wind and current to my favor. old school. i know a guy that has outstanding balance. he can stand fish, and reach up with one foot and kick his hobie drive to adjust. i tried it and almost died. i'll try again, in a swimming pool this summer.
