  1. Can’t hurt to try it. Decide for yourself.
  2. It was an awesome bait for my much younger self. Now? Very lukewarm. However, I think that’s because I’m exploring ripping them thru grass. This takes understanding the tactile feedback of the rod, and I’m fuzzy on interpreting the lure. One time I thought I got it, and a bass did slam the bait. it was a LV500.
  3. FG is easy. Finishing it is my issue.
  4. I have equal success with both knots. But I’m 75% Alberto these days. my FG is my garage, standing in flip flops, time on my hands knot.
  5. This is close. But maybe too much green hue.
  6. I like that OG motor oil color. It had a green hue and it was a dirty oil color.
  7. I don’t have AC. Summer I have to sleep legs akimbo.
  8. I swim it like a jerk. I’m dancing right outside the box. Call me crazy:D
  9. reaction innovation, skinny dipper. i rig it with weighted 5/0 screwlock. very weedless and i can yank that thing to and fro like a madman. i have not tried it with LMB, but the Striper found it titillating. unweighted screwlock it will sink to your desired depth.
  10. i found it doesnt affect fishing, besides me. i watched PurpleAir religiously, and i wouldnt fish if it reached past a certain threshold. 100 IIRC. it was brutal breathing that crap, but the fishing was normal. didnt bother them one bit. i saw 350-400 days and i just stayed home.
  11. mine is geary. mild. my Curado 150 is gearier.. my other 150 is silk. total crapshoot. but they all seem to harass fish perfectly.
  12. not interested in finding the spine. or building any rods. just wondering about the mechanics of it all.
  13. my two main players. Zoom Z-drop green pump 5" senko in #925 color. backup singers consist of Roboworm in MM2, morning dawn. Zoom speedworm green pump. that might be it.
  14. i believe this was daytime. found the pic.
  15. if that was the right size, i bet that would get smoked repeatedly if we punched that into thick mats.
  16. i think i understand. a rodmaker finds the spine of the rod. this is the Stiffest/fastest direction a rod bends? so that is where the guides run? so theorectically, say a fast action rod might not be the exact same fast action if the rod is bent in a different orientation?
  17. That’s awful. Be careful. My mild childhood asthma became something different after our wildfires. ‘’I can’t even smell smoke in a city environment without some thinking wildfire. someone photoshopped Godzilla into the smoky San Francisco cityscape and it kinda was an awesome pic.
  18. Oh.. you’re definitely approaching FMJ rod territory! gotta go, my wife is coming! (Opening Dobyns Fury web-page)
  19. yea. i didnt want to make any assumptions on the OP's personal balance point. my aquant, is probably 230 lbs of solid muscle and he has the balance of a wood nymph. i dont think size plays a role..not a huge role. i can walk out to the nose of my hobie outback. i dont stay there, but that is how i typically get myself to shore. i stand up, paddle in, and step on the nose and then onto shore. i make it look easy, but i know i am on the precipace of embarrasment the entire time. i dont like my feet wet at the very last moment.
  20. way cooler video!!
  21. Kristine Fischer has foot steer. she stands and fishes with her Torqueedo. she uses her shins to adjust steering.
  22. i asked my eye doctor this. her response was that we didnt need the Costas. but she admonished me against wearing the lowest of the low end sunglasses. she said since they dim our view, our pupils will dialate to the lesser light which ironically opens them up to allow more UV rays to get thru. i'm no eye doctor, not even close...so i bought the Costas! i've come to grips that my hearing will be suspect when i am older. i am not good with my eyes being all cateracty. nope.
  23. i was fishing relatively clear water and i saw what i imagined was a frog (it was small, could have been a beetle). it was kicking itself thru water down deep. in frog plentiful habitat, wouldnt a texas rigged soft body frog like bait be something to try? you all ever try sinking a frog with weights?
