Withdrawals from (not) fishing.
i know what you two meant. i LOVE my wife and i whisper a thankyou daily to life for placing her in my life. but i would be lying if i didnt sometimes wonder, "What if?" but i wouldnt change a thing. my wife thinks my fishing is a super healthy outlet for life stresses. at least she does. after i order the Megabass P5, maybe not so much

Withdrawals from (not) fishing.
Gimrus. great/interesting point. my brother and his very long time GF parted ways. he was bummed for about 2 weeks, and then he hit the ground running. dolled up his bass boat, bought a Hobie kayak, doing trips. he said the money he saved by going single was profound. hahhaha.. the guy, hunts, fishes and dates new women. he is not mad about his life choices.

Curado DC vs Curado MGL 150
i think i can imagine when bait cast reels started having various braking systems. mag brakes, centrifigual, etc..whatever. i can close my eyes and see people with big brake-less reels totally whining about it like i hear people do about DC reels. or any advance in tech. i made vow not to be one of those types of OG's. (old guy). personally, i embrace tech. i cant cast an old brakeless reel anyways. i bought some old dude a cup of coffee. he was yammering about automatic transmissions..he loved the stick shift. haha.. he was looking at a new truck some other dude bought. DC. i dont need the help, but it is cool. and if it gets more people casting BC, all the better. i will probably buy a Curado 150 DC purely for flinging heavy hard baits against the heavy winds in Oklahoma. everyone there uses spinning. i mean EVERYONE. the wind is no joke.

Withdrawals from (not) fishing.
it's been a minute since i have fished. my inlaws came to visit from Taipei. weekends are all about shuttling them around, trying to show them a great time. my two main fishing partners..one is a school teacher on summer break, and the other is retired. so they have been having the opposite life. they fish a lot. ahhah i have organized my baits, lubed reels, respooled a few. ordered and restocked. i live in land of mostly good weather, so i fish year round. i am JONESING to go!! i get back from a trip with Inlaws next saturday. i think, i hope, i pray..i can go the following sunday. you winterland people, i feel for you all over the long frozen winter. i think bare minimum, i need a fix at least once a month. bare minimum. you? i am in the final push of inlaw time. i can do it. i LOVE them dearly, so that helps. its not like time with my own mother.

Cobra walkie talkies vs Midland
i'm pretty sure i used inexpensive Motorola radios. i didnt ask much of them. we used them when we would survey construction jobs. yelling into a radio was way better than hand signals. fun on cruise ships and big malls. basically line of sight communication. hunting..it was Garmin GPS(i think the radios are motorolas?) radios. about 5 mile range. i busted my butt in a mtnbike crash and ended my hopes of hiking to the ruins in Peru. the rest of the group went without me. wife and i took the bus up. brother and i both packed our Garmins. on the last day, i turned it on when the bus dropped me off at top. my brother heard me from their last camp. there was a zillion (easy daiwa fans) people up top and those radio were instrumental of us finding each other at the summit. if you can..Garmin radio, which i believe are better motorolas. i could be wrong.

What do you do when you snag using braid?
i think i would flip my kayak if i pulled hard enough to free some snags. it gets sketch.. in the ocean, it aint happening.

Curado DC vs Curado MGL 150
i have put a Curado 150 DC into my cart several times. just living wildly. but i agree, i love my curado 150 MGL's. nothing sends a light t-rig worm better in my hands.

Some Medical Policies are Dumb
maybe i am NAIVE, but pediatrics is just another doctor. same schooling etc. the real crime is if a pediatric doctor is dumb. but dont let the big jar of lollipops at the front counter fool you. i think they are still doctors. they may consider the developing systems of a young person, more clearly than a general physician. if i am having a public heart attack, i am not turning down the doc wearing a clown nose. i hope your kid heals up.

it is cold here!! the bass are so confused and so are the people trying to catch them. i see lots of fry, so the love-fest happened without me even knowing it. i am going out of town next week, i hope it warms up by the time i get home. my complextion is pasty white.

Brought my new Phoenix home today!
Congrats...i am not a bass boat conoisseur by any measure, but out on the water, it is typically some Phoenix boat that makes me gasp and take a second look. great looking boats..all of them. and, "Brought my new phoenix home today" are words that i will never type or utter..ever. sad, but true.

Finding offshore structure on a lake with no boat access

What's your opinion?
i'm not even going to watch the video. i can only imagine. we label each other enough already. i am secure enough to label myself, and i am good with that. you all get to do yourselves. at the literal "rub some dirt on it". hahaha...almost ruined an elk bowhunting trip i was on. i jumped a legal fence, and got a very significant splinter under my pinkie finger nail. the pain was amazing, but it was trumped by distant elk bugles. i yanked it out unceremonioulsy with my teeth and marched on. i got dirt all over it. two days later, it blew up and had red streaks running. oh-o. i went to a clinic and they cleaned it, gave me an injection, and pills. i cant swim without a pinkie finger. (best Cheers-show joke ever)

Interstate 95
i do this for a living. i have fixed a bridge that burned down. in CA, this would be a fast repair. we have some heavy hitter contractors, that we call on. one in particular saw the news, called his steel supplier and ordered the steel on his own. he got the most valuable jump on his competitors. and naturally he got the job, when he showed up and said, "i already ordered the beams".

Things that irritate ya'
The second half of my life, I’m trying to really minimize what aggravates me. I’m m trying not to let events, people or things have that kind of juice over my emotions. it’s been a journey, I tell ya. I trying not to give a rats A about stuff that doesn’t affect me. Not easy. what sucks is so much these days does affect me.
