  1. the Rizzuto leaves the tag end poking out of the middle of the knot? that single move is my hangup. it sometimes pulls tight before all the slack is cinched up. misery. i'll watch video again. found a better video. the Rizzoto is the same as the ending of serving wrap on a bowstring! i was doing it wrong. thanks @Team9nine
  2. my sister is a patent attorney. the stories she tells are actually pretty boring. i try my best to fork money over for originals.
  3. i was told to stay within 75% of a kayak capacity. just what i heard. there is a hulk of a man, i run across on the water. he is huge. probably 6-4 ish..he rocks a Triton 13 or something. this guy is so big and strong he flips that kayak over and pushes it up ontop of his 4x4 lifted JEEP wrangler like it was a toy. he said he weighs 320. i'm to tiny to debate him. he caught a 6lb and the fish looked tiny. haha.
  4. i have never snapped braid off on a fish. ever.
  5. the finishing knots. the several overhands..the other uni-knot looking thing. that is when i usually go awry and have to scrap the entire operation. how are you ending it, and locking it all up? i do use some knot glue i have to buy insurance. i finished one simply yesterday with copious overhands and glued it. but i want to stick the FG landing repeatedly. any tips? there is zero doubt it is the thinnest knot for me.
  6. only one way to find out. truly. you gotta find your own jam. my methods are mine for my area, and tactics. as you can see from this discussion. we are ALL OVER the place with what we use.
  7. i seem to have more trouble doing connections knots on super thin braid. my skills, maybe not so much yours. and i always cut myself with super thin braids. like a "garrot" on my hands. no thanks. might be my imagination, but i got more wind knots as well. and i think my 20lb braid is as thick as 6lb mono. thin enough. i am not so concern with the capacity of the line. i just like the specs on the 20lb stuff. and i cast like a champ. i never notice any advantage that one time i dropped down to 10.
  8. braid is so thin. i use 20lb suffix in that ghost color. i dont know why they just didnt call it white, or casper's butt. its white. i use a 10lb flouro leader. i just tied my best FG knot yesterday in my garage and freshened up the leader. my leader is about 6" long. allows me to trim and retie several times out on the water. honestly, my Alberto knot is very reliable and i use it just as often. i can tie the Alberto without my reading glasses. only down side which is sometimes a good side is that it is VERY slow sink line. i lays on the water surface somewhat and drops down to my weight. as you can imagine, i dont have complete tactile contact with my bait. BUT it is white and it is very obvious when a bass grabs on..the line drops quick. having said that, i cast out my dropshot and finesse. as far as i typically can. and i work it back. on the work-back i have the tactile feel back. i think finesse it is crucial for me to see the line. so many of my hits are undetected anyways. bass grab on at the splash, etc. seeing the move is the key to reeling into the fish. i just found some braid that is PINK. my eyes see pink the best. my arrow fletching are pink. plus casper's butt gets so ugly when it is so dirty at the end of season. what about in a hard snag? a leader at least lets you break it off at a strategic point. my ocean fishing buddy's say straight braid is a bad idea. bait 150 feet down, wrapped around some old spanish armada remains... 40 feet on a drop shot, nice to be able to lean into it and lose the last few feet only. you just straighten your hook?
  9. clearwater? i bring my casting distance game. even a dropshot i fling as far as i can. gah, i love clearwater fishing. if anything, the picturesque tranquility is so captivating. i use lighter line, mostly 12lb flouro anyways, so i am ready for clearwater. even cover, i stay way back and fling them the lures from afar. wind or breeze helps
  10. everybody is ripping off people. i think i see innovation coming out of Japan, but that is about it these days. what other country took a rubber dice, gave it fuzz and sells it out repeatedly? look for a fuzzy dungeons and dragons 8 sided fuzzy dice coming soon from Rage. hahahah.
  11. YES. look at weight capacity. the Nucanue..(dont know how they spell it right now) has a very generous weight capacity. even the little one. and at 370, a sit in kayak? i will help you name your future boat. "iron Maiden". it would be so uncomfy, it would be torture.
  12. Trolling? i would troll. watching a bobber is just about the only activity that makes trolling a lure seem exciting. i would troll. drag a painters bucket in the water if you need the boat to slow down. while trolling, you two can talk about your feelings.
  13. That silver wolf is nice. Too rich for me, but wow. ‘’you buy that reel from the hookup, they throw in a spare SV spool for the price.
  14. Roger that! I’m gonna try the Owner Haymaker hook. no need for a nail weight?
  15. Okay. Let me home in on the topic. When I buy dozens I’m not that guy that likes to take up too much time. I tell the donut lady. “I’ll take 2 dozen donuts, please make four of them glazed ones, the rest are up to you. An assortment “. Same with bagels. I’ll get a few that I like, so I can insure I get one. I’m not taking the time to decide on flavors I’m not gonna eat. I was behind a lady today that had questions. “What is that brown bagel” ”pumpernickel “ ”is it sweet?” ”no” ”okay give me a cinnamon “ ”sugared , or regular?” “No, neither. Give me that chocolate one” ”it’s pumpernickel “ 15 minutes! I bet she got one of each type of bagel. Haha. It was so funny. Less funny since I was behind her. She looks at me and says, “I’m buying bagels for a meeting”. “You gonna eat them all?” silence. The woman behind me groaned. I was on the clock so I didn’t give a…. it was so funny. People are so interesting
  16. There is a guy on the CA delta that puts a weight up front and sinks them. He swims them along the bottom. Apparently he does very well. I think it’s the same guy that hawks the Bobby;s perfect frog. I could be wrong. I was eavesdropping:D.
  17. Just bought my first pack. Some version of green pumpkin. You all back gliding them in?
  18. I carry disposable earplugs everywhere. I’ve been to movies that were to loud. I’m ready to pop them in. Before Covid I was at a music festival. That band Chvrches tried to deafen me. They were screeching. I was so happy to have them. I made my wife put some in.
  19. I don’t have any glamour pics of my reels. Wow people.
  20. Skipping is the final frontier of a bait caster. Pump the brakes OP
  21. @Firstoutfisher. i think i glanced at it. i recall stopping video so i wouldnt buy any. but my local store carries them. foiled!! i'll go look at video.
  22. i need some snaps for a wake bait that everyone on the internet says it would be a benefit. which snap are we loving?
  23. this Siebert guy can sell a ketchup sandwich to a woman wearing a white sundress. i looked in my surplus shoebox and thought to myself, "where did all these tungsten weights come from?!!" next sale, i am stocking up on 1/8th's and lighter.
  24. do you mind sharing how you are rigging these?. i have the 3.5 and i rigged it with a 6/0 Beast hook and i am FISHLESS. i mean it looks good to me drifting downwards, but i havent gotten a bite yet. for the money, i hope to at least catch ONE FISH. i might try texas rigging one next. let it free drift some.
