  1. i'm watching that video later. right now i am on soft foods from a sore tooth procedure. i do want to eat a Chicago dog in Chicago.
  2. this is the only reel i love so much i own two. haha. have fun bud.
  3. things got real. i got a root canal. the guy just jumped in no foreplay. i was like..wahhh? . he did find the crack. now i am just sore after the procedure. my regular dentist said to expect 2 days of soreness. i am gonna brush and floss at every chance i get from now on. i put a toothbrush in my computer bag. i might drop one in my truck and work vehicle. teeth are precious.
  4. you could give a spinner bait tutorial. haha.
  5. i have helped two in particular and now we are friends. i showed them dropshots, gave them worms and terminal gear and we all got fish that day. arguably, now they both seem to be better fisherpeople than myself now. i cant help myself. i dont like seeing sad faces on the lakes. probably torpedoing all my secrets tho. thoughts?
  6. great thread. when i punch thick mats, the friction of the line rubbing on the green stuff was jacking me up badly. i think i have it dialed..but it took a Daiwa SV to get me there.
  7. i like this tip...sitting in a kayak, the water is just right there! nice.
  8. LOVE IT!!! the Vision 110 isnt very robust. it's part of what makes them so good. the bill is thin and flexy which gives it the coolass darting action. but they kinda break. hahahha.. there is on free lunch, ever.
  9. super cool. my Dentist and i had an odd conversation. he said, kids are starting to be born with no wisdom teeth. the theory was that their purpose was to come up when we lost teeth. they are impacted for the purpose of pushing the gaps together. as an engineer, i think body mechanics are fantastic.
  10. keep us KOZ ,.,.i have the rolls royce of pedal kayak (in my opinion only)..a Hobie. 20 miles on the pedals is still 20 miles..on the pedals. lets be honest. even with a motor..you cant get a call from a friend that is on the opposite side of a large lake and motor over there. i have had to load my kayak back into my truck and launch at a new place. a bass boat just points the nose of the boat "that way" and guns it.
  11. GRRRRR..i have had sinus problems going on 6 weeks. mild tooth pain as well. the tooth thing progressed to beyond what i am comfortable with so i called my dentist. "upper back molar"...he looked and looked and tested and tested, xrays..all of it. perplexed. flummoxed. he said "all you upper molars are fine." he did call his buddy who does nothing but root canals for a second opinion. (i have the best dentist on the planet). he friend said, "Send him over". My dentist did say teeth issues can jack with sinuses and ears. same test, but way better scans. 3D scans and some electric probe thing to test nerve health. all good. same thing. nothing wrong with upper molars. very cool guy, even cooler assistant. it was odd, that i was actually sad my teeth were fine. i want to stare my pain enemey in the eyes. i went and saw my regular doctor. she looked at my ears, nose, etc. nothing. she cleaned my ears and i was...errrr...right, i bet that fixes up my teeth. hahahha. today..i was driving and the tooth pain came on again. hard..and then it subsided to a very dull ache. like a genius that i am, i eat a walnut. DUH! OUCH!! it was my LOWER MOLAR that hurt!!!! i told all the dentist the WRONG TOOTH. i called the root canal guy and he explained there are two types of nerves in our jaws. one that just caused everything to hurt and then the second type that causes pain we can point at. i want this fixed. he said the happiest words ever..."tomorrow at 1:00 pm? i can squeeze you in" YES!!! i am in San Diego next week and the thoughts of googling the nearest dentist down there was daunting. i want this behind me..anyway. FLOSS BRUSH IRRIGATE is my mantra. i am not losing another one.
  12. this is actually a very good point. for me it is kayak fishing. which i feel is difficult. mobility is a problem and i can only fish relatively close to where i launch. i can draw parallels between kayak fisihing and backpack hunting. both have that added physical challenges and limitations. i can truck/road hunt..but i kinda liked the suffering of caring in my gear on my back..and packing out the animal. (when i was younger and skinnier) i dont think would ever kayak for the sake of kayaking. nerp...
  13. the biggest i go is a MagDraft Freestyle 6". I have done well on anything 14-17 flouro. i am pushing my rod;s limits so i dont bomb casts. if/when i get a better rod, i will go with Braid.
  14. I'm not even sure the OP is still participating in this forum. however, i feel we dont have enough information to formulate an all out guess. i do know, skunks and nursery fish can be bad, but its totally worse when everyone else around is kicking butt. i say: 1. poor fishing location 2. bad casting.
  15. Does anyone have a review of the IMA suspending lipless? i think how fast an LV500 drops into the grass can be odd looking to a bass. a slow sink might be a good option/changeup. i will find myself 5 kayaks deep in a group casting into grass all the time. everyone has the LV500. a way to standout.
  16. I HAD to confirm. I youtube it and YES..you use your feet. that is not cool at all. at least he tried..but just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
  17. wow. now this I getting really weird.
  18. dang. I drive my trucks waaayy longer. the math just works better in my favor. my current truck is getting downright ancient.
  19. I think I might have 7. I have more lipless than the number of catches on lipless. but I am getting better. this fall, is my fall.
  20. what about the OSP Hunts Jig? kinda pricey tho.
  21. thanks...I didnt know how to even google it. hahaha..
  22. I have both of those. I bought the 703 before I had any idea what a rod could be used for. right or wrong, I just went fishing. I use them both interchangeable. weightless senkos mostly or very light tex rig. In the beginning I took a lot of bass with the 703 on finesse jigs. sensitivity is fine. last month I annoyed the heck out of a bunch of Big Stripe bass with a Vision 110. the Fury 703 or 733 are my most often broken rod. so there is that. I have snapped 3. one was totally my fault when a tungsten jig came back and hit my rod. the other two, were mysterious snaps at the hookset.

hey newb!! while I am not a hammer, welcome aboard!!
  24. can your even rent boats? I would still call. what if they say the fishing is on fire?
  25. I would call someone local up there and take the temperature of the fishing conditions. then go from there. honestly, I would be 85% taking the boat. hehehe...
