Michigan
Let's go with the Michigan gang! I am a shore fisherman, so that sort of luck only comes to me in the summer or late spring, but those are some nice Michigan Bass!

Is there any Lake Lanier White Bass left?
I do not live anywhere close to the area, but I read on a website that the white bass go to the upper reservoir in spring, so I would try there.

My weakness as a bass fisherman.
My weakness is the inability to fish from a boat. Unless my dad can let me borrow his kayak, then I am stuck to the shore. Even so, I rented a boat this summer and caught around a 4 pound bass! But other than that, I either can't get a boat to fish out of or I suck at boat fishing.

The Natural Progression of a Basshead ~ One Man’s Point of View
I would say that I am stage 3/4. I don't care which species I catch, but I am borderline obsessed with fishing. I can still survive a week or 2 without fishing, but I would be in a worse mood. Fishing is important!

Crazy bycatches?
I have actually caught a flounder before. I was very surprised that it ate a Gulp! Shrimp on a twist-lock jig, but it did! I was on some saltwater river in Florida, in the early morning. At the time I still was a new fisherman, and I just asked the Bass Pro Shops guy what to get.

Crazy bycatches?
Nice. Mine wasn't that big, but they fight hard!

Local high school started a bass club, got sponsors
Ok. I will check if people like fishing around me, possibly by asking or just by listening in. Some people in my cross-country team like fishing, but they mostly trout fish in the local trout stream, like I do once in a while. And sorry, but IDK if there is any high-school reports that I know of.

Crazy bycatches?
Nice, my grandpa was cautious and used a boogie board to subdue it so we could get the hook out!

Mega Bass Jerkbaits .. Worth it?
I love my Rapala Shadow Rap, but maybe I have to try the Megabass Vision 110, if I can get my parents to spend this much on a lure, especially since my birthday is coming up soon!

When bass don't bite...
I always take a big fishing bag with me, and it has all sorts of stuff in it. If you have your heart set on catching bass that day, then just switch lures and keep bass-fishing, but if they really aren't biting, then I would bring some multi-species lures just in case. With some baits, you'll never know what you will pull out!

Sit or stand ?
I stand up, especially since I fish from shore. I am also a cross-country/track runner, so standing isn't that tiring for me.

Kissing fish
I've never kissed a fish before, and I don't plan on it. If other people want to do it, then I let them and don't say anything. But I don't.

Need some help learning steelhead in Grand Rapids
I live about an hour south of you in Portage, but I don't know about Steelhead fishing at all. I would try some steelhead or salmon spawn. You can usually find it in a local tackle shop. Just put it on a egg hook, maybe add a sinker, and that may work.

Nice. Let's hope that I can make one.

Crazy bycatches?
While saltwater fishing in a Florida canal 4 years ago, I caught a stingray on a live shrimp! Needed my big brother's help to pull it up from the bottom.

Local high school started a bass club, got sponsors
I'll try it

Nice, if only mine started one. I don't know who would start one though, because IDK if anyone else like bass fishing at my school. It seems that they are more into sports like basketball or football.

Is Carps everywhere? How can you tell?
For carp, especially if you fish in small lakes like the lake that I fish, you will see them, either by them jumping or just being on the surface. Where I live, there are carp in a lot of lakes, but I doubt they are in all fisheries, like my local Trout Creek.

What is the "Members Solved Count" and checkmark under my name??
Nice. I actually got this one today!

Bass Acting Strange
Hello and Welcome! I don't know much about specific weather conditions since I have been fishing for 4 years, but if they can see you, then they usually won't bite. Try standing back as far as you feel like, and then cast over them. If that spooks them, then try the most finesse rig that you can.
-
Can see the Bass but they never bite.
It depends on the water temperature. Depending on the creek where you fish, if the water is normal temperature, then you should be fine. But if it has routinely been 90, and the water has been really warm like in the 80s, then that is when it is considered "warm" for me.

CT anglers need your help! Petition
I'm in Michigan, but every state deserves the ban of herbicides because maybe someday I'll visit CT.

A-Jay's 3rd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Wow maybe I'll stay in Southern Michigan in the future... My little lake was clear like 3 weeks ago! It was literally 80 degrees a few days ago way down here!
