  1. I bought 3 spools of 832 last year to try based on the forums love for it...but I much prefer the original power pro. The 832 feels stiff and oddly texture and doesn't seem to handle as well. I did not try a 50-60lb for the frog rod and think there it might excel but the 30lb and 20lb I don't like.
  2. And lovely. My talon came with a seized adjustment screw which then broke the bracket. Have to do an exchange so it will be another week.
  3. As my dad said at least a 1000x. It takes a bigger foundation to hold up a skyscraper than an outhouse. Although frequently he updated the "out" to a fecal replacement. Funny turning into my dad as I get older. A-jay's uboat reference is funny as most just call them waterskis. At least being 6'7" they are somewhat proportional.
  4. That is the worst. I tend to camp early and late and never in the summer....but I love sleeping outside. Can't deal with the heat for **** though.
  5. Thai-ish sweet & sour chicken with char siu pork & egg fried rice.
  6. Perfect, thanks guys. When there are only a couple reviews and all negative it made me wary.
  7. I've got size 16 feet so a healthy stomp I can surely provide!
  8. Before dropping $100 on the switches I went ahead and read the reviews. Even on Minn Kota's site directly they are pretty bad. Connectivity issues and even worse some say you can't use your feet to press them but only your thumbs. Does anyone have these and do they work ok? I'd love to have a set up by my trolling motor pedal that I can press on when I hook a fish... https://minnkotamotors.johnsonoutdoors.com/accessories/shallow-water-anchor/raptor-and-talon-wireless-stomp-switch-bluetooth?id=29571&force-country=US&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhLKUBhDiARIsAMaTLnHQmsoDRyXLq3qk5umngjmfzL-FnlydFvCgB97QUo6zkGxEu44-JpkaAnOsEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  9. Your driveway is the best place to learn. On the water the bank is next. Somewhat pointless to skip from the bank, but being still helps you focus on technique which is completely necessary. Bulky, flat profile trailer is your friend. Weightless with a spinning rod first followed by a bit of weight and the BC. Oh, and use mono. Big game is perfect. You WILL blow up your reel so make it cheap to repair.
  10. Installed a Bob's jack plate on my neighbors Ranger Reata and a Talon sandwich mount on my boat before 10:30am...then spent all day cleaning the garage and organizing stuff. 4 beers in now and MORE are coming.
  11. So you never get on plane to go to new spots? For the slow trolling are you in reverse? I back troll way more than front...but I only troll when on a walleye lake and I want something to eat.
  12. Either your battery is completely shot or there is another main fuse somewhere. Doubt you took out the outboard, but bet you took out something else.
  13. I don't remember the printing from 02....but not having fuel injection is a deal breaker for me so if that isn't an opti I personally wouldn't want it. Storage is tough on that boat as well, but it may fit your needs just fine.
  14. I use 20lb power pro for open water topwater and 40-50lb for slop fishing. Open water on a MXF and slop on a heavy.
  15. Make sure it is a trolling bag and not a drift sock. That or the trolling plate are by far the best options. With a 20hp I wouldn't be propping down as it will screw up how the boat handles when not trolling.
  16. Power pro 30 is on most of my all purpose sticks
  17. Where do you throw your frogs? If it is super nasty slop the big daddy is good if more on the edges I would go lighter.
  18. Woah, glad you made it. After that I hate to ask why you are called cyclops.
  19. Mojo Bass 6'6" MHF is what I would start him on. Could go MF depending on what he'd throw but I assume that he already has a M spinning setup for lighter things which then a MH would be helpful for.
  20. Wait there is a dart board?
  21. To me it depends on the presentation and casting action. For anything I tuck under my arm I like full cork, for anything that I want the longest casts possible I want full cork, for the rest I don't need the extra weight and have them built with split.
  22. Sorry for your loss. You gave him the right life. Nothing more a dog could ask for. It always happens too soon.
  23. I don't think they do. They talk about keeping the fish pinned which is different. A floppy rod will flex more as the fish shakes its head or does other antics, but I have zero issue with the MHF in that domain.
  24. If you bring it up (I see that you said you aren't going to) I would bring up the fact you had an agreement and he didn't keep it. That is really the problem. The fact that he kept the fish is the trigger that put the agreement at risk. Had you not agreed you'd have no beef. So don't focus on the fish, but the pre-fishing discussion and the change in action. And next year if you want a partner that won't keep the fish...I live on Tonka and can block the time.
