The Victory model is a hidden gem in the like up. You’re talking about the Grunt right?

Do you have the 71MHF Victory or that’s what you’re looking at? I’d go for that rod in the Victory line no questions asked. It’s my fav rod. The GCX is a let down like the E6X. Just feels lifeless. The Zodias ain’t too bad but I’ve preferred my Victory over the Zodias rods.

A little search feature will answer all these questions but yes Kistler has deep discount sales often from what I’ve read.

Naw… still cheaper for me to pay shipping for gear than a plane ticket to go myself.

I’ve tried it on multiple rods. Maybe it’s the 16lbs line but I found anything 1/2oz and up it would bomb the baits and below 1/2oz wasn’t cutting it for me so I never used it. Hopefully not the case for you. I’ve used it on medium power to heavy power rods. Never found the “perfect” rod for it where I’d say it found a home for me. YMMV…

It’s a pretty good reel. I have the 7 speed and I use it for all around everything really. Using 16lbs R18 LTD on it. Reel feels a lot like my ‘22 Zillion HD. I do find that anything 1/2oz and up it really excels at. Below 1/2oz I’m reaching for a different reel.

Why’s that?

I got that 6’8 MXF LTB jerkbait rod last year and it’s fantastic. I have the 7’2 HM in the victory line and it’s great! I’d imagine the LTB version is fantastic enjoy

And they’re priced like they’re made in Japan.

I use an slx dc xt for jerkbaits and it works excellent and a fraction of the cost of the metanium and antares and much better than the curado dc. It’s jdm only but worth looking into it.
