If I had a 4 day fishing trip scheduled next week my only concern would beer temperature, I wouldn't mind bad fishing just to have the days off and liquid water.

Unfortunately you will have to pay for the zero lines card. yes it sucks since its just a regular SD card that should cost $15 bucks. get on Amazon as its usually cheaper than anywhere else, I seen it down to $60. Also, check the Autochart PC software if you are interested on making and edditing your own charts, usually it includes a zero lines card.

As soon as season starts I'll do proper testing and report findings.. I'm almost sure if I cut in half and put it two pockets sub will fit.

Last season I bought the Kokatat leviathan, its very confortable and it has almost too much storage on it. I would recommended. Like many here I'm a strong swimmer but I use it a 100% of the time. I'm usually very careless about everything but this, I need to get back to my kids at home.

I usually carry 2 MH/F 1M/F and a ML/F spinning. That I think is the most common setup where I think I can get away with everything I usually fish with, on the truck I'll keep the cranking and the frog rods. mainly 7' the M is 6'10"

I also think is awesome when a big fish pulls you. I don't like caching pike but once I caught one so big that pull me about 20ft while anchored it was the coolest fight. Same here, I carry on the yak no more than 4 rods, when I get to the lake I check conditions and leave two or three rod on the truck.. That sound fun.

I love reading about this topic, you always get really good points from both sides. However the only right answer for me was to just use what you feel more confortable with. Does it really matter? maybe, do the fish see the braid and if they do, do they care?? maybe. There will always be pros and cons so just use what you like the most in your hands and most important what your budget allows you, you will catch fish anyway...... maybe..

I follow the same logic, actually even from the boat I feel more confortable with a fast action rods on any technic (including treble hooks applications) I only been on a canoe once, I took my daughter out fishing and spend most of the time paddling. buy I guess it may be affected the same way.

During this off season I renewed and upgraded my complete kayak rod and reel arsenal. While clicking the "buy now" button for my last rod I started thinking about rod action while on the kayak. Both my previous and new setup were purchased based on the same principles of fishing from a boat, but should it be selected instead taking into a account the fact that the kayak is not a very stable platform? (for people not familiar with kayak fishing, bass actually move you a great deal while fighting you if not properly anchor) When you set the hook from the kayak your leverage point (your body in the kayak) moves in direction contrary of the hookset and making it weaker. following this every rod should step up (from lets say from a M action to a MH) to gain the extra power and do a proper hookset. On the contrary when fighting a fish, the tension in the rod tends to be less by the fact that the kayak is moving in direction of the fish, rod tension is weaker than when standing on a more stable platform. To counter this you need your action to step down to gain back the rod tension lost? on a heavy rod I have actually pedal backwards cause my rod is now completely straight. Now, I bring in this importan topic to you since I'm bored, its cold and lakes are covered with ice and snow. Once ice is out I will go back to regular questions on how not to get skunked. They're really not doing fine, things are getting better yes. however poaching has their numbers still declining. I do understand a deer hunter, there a serious aspect of being in a situation where they can take that shot. its not easy.. but killing an elephant?? someone points you to the one and you take the shot. there is nothing really in it, the only skill you need is to have the money! and its not only them or endangered animals. Why would someone kill a giraffe??

There are legal ways to do it, you see pictures of people all the time when they pay a fortune to hunt an elephant. Its illegal to bring the thropy to the US and still most of those hunters are from this country!

While I have no issues with most types animals, as other people stated I do have issues with exotic animal killing and even more species that are endangered. How someone say that they love nature and kill a part of it that may disappear forever just for a picture. I just don't get it. I come from a family of hunters and it did too when I was younger, now I would just join them and take a sports camera and a huge telephoto lens, same shot and you get to pull a trigger and no animals are harm. I only shoot at hogs since they are invasive species and they taste delicious. (I don't like most game meats)

Just being out on a nice day its a win, I would take it over being here at the office and the freezing temps outside.

thanks, after everyone suggesting to at least go for the sierra, I'm no longer considering Fury as an option. I guess that there is a positive that there is no liquid water around me and I didn't follow the impulse and got ir from Dicks. This is an excellent point. I guess I can wait to the frogging season and purchase it at the first sale I see. I should have done it back in December that sale was great. but since I had already bought a few rods on Black Friday I wanted to slow it down.

I guess my problem now is that if I go for the champion I get now into Expride price range and that opens another conversation.

Didn’t know about this, which one is the right one for frogging? I was only thinking about the full cork. so the question now is if I go up to the champion, can I also use it for flipping? note taken
