Tackle warehouse scam
I usually buy them when they are on special like today, its like getting a 10% any time. I usually have a couple hundred for "emergencies" But I do understand your point, even all scams they are always telling people to pay on gift cards mainly amazon. they are totally untraceable. I never thought about giving them in a restaurant, nothing prevents them from taking a quick picture of it and all your money is gone.

Adding autopilot trolling motor to PDL kayak?

New Curado 150 MGL
I received mine a few days ago, being realistic the color is ugly but it doesn't really matter. however I find it not as robusto as my Curado DC and the spool makes a small noise every rotation. may not matter at all since I have not even spooled it but I'm not totally in love with it. hopefully that changes once spooled and casted.

Do you place stickers on your kayak?
I have a large Metallica sticker on mine, but this sounds like a better one (maybe not cooler)

A change in my approach to bass angling...
Totally agree with you, there's a huge sense of accomplishment when you catch a big one on 6# line and a ML rod, for me the fight is more exiting than getting them with 40# line and a heavy stick. now don't get me wrong, I love catching them anyway posible.

We don't want MORE FISHERMAN
While I definitely would enjoy less crowded lakes and ramps, I do think is important that new people get into the sport. However what I would love even more is that people be more educated about it, take care of the resources that make this sport posible.

Adding autopilot trolling motor to PDL kayak?
I know the feeling, I'm going trough exactly the same. I'm going for a Bixpy motor mounted on the rudder or with the DYI adapter so its mounted in the PDL opening. I'll miss the spot lock, but I don't want to get a huge trolling motor a the front just for that. I just wish Old Town would sell those kits, they are loosing a huge market with people like us buying from third party.

Southeast Michigan inland lakes bait fish.
yes, I'm already stared stocking perch color keitech, will for sure try them as spinnerbait trailers. what I didn't think of is to drag them on the bottom, that is completely new to me. on the dragging well is not my prefer way but if its a rough day I have no issues on doing it.. sometimes its a great way to take a break during the day..

Southeast Michigan inland lakes bait fish.
I guess you're right, it doesn't matter if I go from 15# to 20# fluoro those teeth will still cut trough it and the overall fishing will be sacrificed by the change. I guess I just have to get used to the idea that pike will bite and sometimes keep my lures.

Am I alone?
As other guys have mention, kayak fishing really helps you keep it under control as space limitations stops you from just buying stuff and really spend the time on getting what will be the best and most flexible solution. same for tackle, there is only space for a fix number of 3600 plano boxes in my crate. Now that doesn't mean that I don't spend the same money, I still purchase tons of things that at the time I'm sure I must have bunt never use, so overspending its just diversified. I feel that the internet and the manufacturers are really pushing (taking advantage of the bait monkey in my head) to purchase more setup for techniques that one rod should be able to handle with out any issues. what I mean is, do I really need a jerkbait technic specific rod?? the monkey and megabass said yes while my head said no your medium rod will do just fine (they won anyway, two against one)

Southeast Michigan inland lakes bait fish.
True!!, an that is another big hole in my fishing that I will fully pursue next season. This season I used it to get back in the sport so I mainly fished with the lures I used regularly years ago. where I fished as a teenager to my early 20s (sooo I didn't fish much for about 15 years) crayfish population was very limited so baits like jigs are not used much. During the BF sales I purchased all I needed to really concentrate on fishing jigs, as you mention I went for green and brown and research a good amount of time on trailers. I really want to try fishing lures out of my confort zone. Other issue that I'm debating now is on line test, I used braid with leaders on the standard #12 to #15, (#8 on spinning) but with so much pike here I don't know if I need to use stronger fluoro leaders.

Hey thanks for the feedback! I have begun stocking up with perch and blugilll colors, actually the keitech 3.8 in perch gave me one incredible day this summer (that I must admit it was pure luck I used that color) As for Kent lake I usually go there since its about 10min from my place. also, the fact that is a no wake lake makes it perfect for me that I just started kayaking. As for pressure, yes there is a lot of people fishing there, but what I've seen its that they are mainly targeting pan fish and using bass specific technics I have great success. Dragging worms there really pays off but just don't use a spinner bait as that's what 90% of people that go there use (not that I'm spying) I never seen that G2 shellcracker lure, it looks great, I will pickup one!

EGO S2 Slider or Yakattack Leverage landing net
Now that all (maybe) tackle needs have been filled this black Friday, I want to start upgrading other areas on my kayak setup so I would like to buy a new landing net. The EGO S2 looks like a good option and so does the yakattack leverage landing net. I'm trying to decide with out ever using them or seen them in person which one to buy. I like the yakattack because of the leverage of course this looks very helpful but I also see this as a constrain on distance. On the other hand the EGO seems lighter and the fact that floats is always welcome. Now my main question comes on handling the net in the kayak, I fish with spinner (left hand retrieve) and baitcaster (right hand retrieve) rods equally so this makes me work the net with the hand that is not holding the rod at that time, I'm worried that the the forearm grip and using the leverage may be an issue as it looks more difficult to switch hands and when the fish is there, you don't want to give them time to get away. It may not be difficult at all to work the yakattack with either hand, its super easy to handle and most likely I'm overthinking this but I tend to get into this kind of issues on the off season when I have the time to think about it (during season I may have bought wherever shipped faster) thank you for your comments!

What fishing knot to tie?
Braid to Leader - FG Braid - Palomar Flouro - Improved clinch knot, sometimes palomar. I only use mono as backing line, then I use a uni to uni to tight it to the braid.

Thankful for the Wacky Rig
Has any of you ever compared how effective is a senko waky rigged vs t-rig?? I do understand that this may be different for each lake and style of fishing. but within similar conditions, have you measure how effective is one vs the other?? I ask this because I've used the weightless t-rig senko for years. I have caught fish on WK rig but if I don't have the patience to keep using it if it doesn't catch a fish right away. Its like something inside me tells me I'm doing it the wrong way and what makes it even worst is that this lure and presentation is my go to last resort against getting skunked (Fishing OCPD I guess)

Late night black Friday purchases
We all lie to our self's all the time, I just emptied my cart again (yes by purchasing what was on it) and I was sure I wasn't going to buy more until a few months when I'm closer to use all this crap that I have bought because of curse is freezing here and it will be that way for 4-5 months! Why purchase so many things that I'm going to store for months really beats me. Any way, after black friday, when is the next sale???
