  1. Thank you everybody for the great feedback, I think I'll go for the 55# thrust. as many of you express, its better to have the extra power than miss it. I really hate it when I buy something that falls short of what I require. torquedoos are awesome, but it seems that in order to install one on my kayak it needs to be a permanent installation. I like to keep the flexibility to use the pedal drive with out heavy modifications. I'm still considering buying bixpy for this reason, they are light and easy to carry/remove. that tech looks very convenient. Battery life is my only concern, I want to repuchase a lithium 50ah battery because of weight. I set my kayak on the roof of my grand cherokee and plant to secure the battery inside the hull. so every pound shaved of weight is welcomed.
  2. I just bought one, exprides are excepcional but with the 20% discount they're currently selling plus being on stock they are a great deal.
  3. Hi, I would like to add a trolling motor to my kayak. Newport vessels offers a 36lbs and a 55lbs options and the price difference is not a concern... I would like to use it with a 50ah lithium battery to save weight (rigging is a pain always). The kayak is an old town 106 PDL and has a full capacity of 500lbs. Assuming that I'm fully loaded (to be safe as I'm not that fat) what thrust would you recommend?? If Jeremy Clarkson taught me anything was that more power is better but I don't know if it applies in this situation. Are there any other considerations that I'm missing??? thanks for the help.
  4. that's the only way you can read about what was going on in 1997
  5. Diet coke and cigarettes, the breakfast of the champs.
  6. Phone booth??
  7. They got me back with their 15% off valid on a couple of exprides. with that and a few bucks I got as credit card cashback bought two of them under $180 a piece.
  8. what's a magazine?
  9. I knew I shouldn't open this thread, there goes $500.
  10. one rod from the bank, if you plan to be very static bring two. leave extras in car/truck just in case. on kayak bring as many as you can comfortably fit in it.
  11. I'm now safe of someone hacking my account and start posting dumb comments lol
  12. Feel exactly the same, I'm already in Digitaka.. Just our of curiosity, what version of the JDM Zillion??
  13. I guess if I went fishing every day I would be very unhappy, that would mean I have nothing else going on.
  14. The moment there is a reliable electric bass boat I'll make the switch.
  15. It depends on the degree of difficulty of its jump, if it was a good one it ok for them to go.
  16. I use the Dobyns champion xp 705cb, MH moderate. great power for single hooks and get it out of the weed but parabolic to keep them pin. I think there is an option for split grip. Orochis are great, but aren't they all full grip?? I only have the Diablo and the Tour versatile but I believe they all do.
  17. True, that's why I don't have cable.
  18. Get cable back, it will be cheaper than getting a tackle addiction.
  19. Understood, thanks!!
  20. Thank you for all recommendations, I will purchase some of that Mono as I only have some cheap that I use for backing. I guess the follow up question will be what #test should I use? how does this make a difference?? I understand that there are two lines now between the know and the lure but the fish only need to cut one to come of.. its a simple knot and if it helps ill use it.
  21. Hi! Quick question, what kind of line you recommend to use in waters with pike? I wont go to steel leaders, I mean if its meant for them to take it so be it. I do understand that the probability of them cutting the line regardless is high. I usually fish braid straight on topwater but I wouldn't be opposed to a mono leader if it helps and actually been thinking about using it to help with treble hooks. On sub-surface I use fluoro leaders and main line and usually holds ok against them. Thank you for your comments.
  22. JDM Met with USDM handle is a great combo at a great price. Couple of weeks ago they were at $228 at Digitaka. That was an amazing deal. today at $250 it not bad either.
  23. No wake lake on a kayak helps reduce the number of dumb people on the water.
