  1. I’ll get a pic for you tomorrow. The mount comes with some heavy duty screws that seem to have it mounted sturdy.
  2. I used a Baldwin Iron Works mount on mine to mount a 93SV. I was going to straddle the cup holders, but decided to mount it on the little angled section just in front of the cup holder area. As for the Garmin mount hitting your cover, I stick a piece of pool noodle over the mount and it won’t rub on the cover. I can get pics if you are interested.
  3. I’m thinking a lot could change in more than a year. That’s a heck of a check to be writing on their end.
  4. This. There are lots of 80+ mph boats around here and lots of tournaments to go with them. There are areas I avoid more because of the bass boats than the pleasure boats.
  5. I have to admit I’m stuck on drop shot rigs with Robo Worms and a plain old wacky rig with either a green pumpkin or black and blue Senko. When they stop catching fish I will change to the next thing.
  6. They are legit. They also have had some kind of a club pricing in the past, so make sure you are seeing the actual price you would pay vs. the member price.
  7. For confidence, baitcaster is probably my choice. In reality, they are both plenty capable. To me it comes down to having the drag adjusted and patience, but there is just a feeling that you can really “horse” one with the baitcaster.
  8. If you really want to see hook sizing that varies wildly, take a look at fly fishing hooks. My suggestion is to find a brand you like and stick with it for sizing consistency.
  9. Just another reason to like Scum Frog.
  10. When I was a kid I would sit and stare at the Bass Pro catalog for days on end. I wanted all the soft plastics in all the different colors. That was 40 years ago. I might have actually accomplished that goal now.
  11. How will you know the difference between a true FLMB and one that shares FLMB DNA like the ones in Chickamauga? Genetic testing would be the only way.
  12. I just switched all of my soft plastics into these yesterday. It really is a convenient box for them. This is coming from someone who is a certified bait monkey for soft plastics.
  13. I do love Pringles…
  14. I have a couple of them and really like them for the money.
  15. I use the double uni without any issues. It’s easy to tie and has held up for me. I always wet the knot before I cinch it down. It seems to help keep the line from breaking at the knot.
  16. I was actually leaning toward it being a cane pole.
  17. I would be rigging a drop shot with an Ox Blood Roboworm and then a black with blue flake Senko wacky rig. Both of these work very well in my area.
  18. That the 8ft long tube with TW logos all over it that FedEx just delivered, with my wife’s name on it, might contain a Father’s Day gift. I guess I’ll find out Sunday.
  19. It depends on the season. In the winter I am likely to be carrying a Wilson Combat 1911, but in the summer it is usually a Hellcat.
  20. Probably the best old fashioned I have had was made with Angel’s Envy. Don’t think I wouldn’t mix one up with Pappy if I had a bottle of it.
  21. This hits home for me. I have always been involved in hunting and fishing. It is part of my DNA. A couple of years ago I took a different job at the same university where I teach. This new job deals with programs that have 12 month enrollment. This also involves some teaching on Saturdays. I took the position for a $30k per year raise. It wound up consuming all of my time, and I only got to fish a couple of times over two years. I finally realized I was going to waste the time of my life where I can really enjoy fishing, so I told them something had to give. I suppose they listened, and now I am back to fishing regularly. The point of this whole story is that you can’t give up what you love. Make the time for it. I was miserable. By all means, set aside time for your studies and work hard on that, but don’t miss out on your life.
  22. Is this around Knoxville that the water is that cold? It was 80 on Nickajack Friday.
  23. It has been hot here as well. We went out yesterday and managed a few in the grass. I was going to the ledges, but my TM batteries finally gave up the ghost on me and I wasn’t able to keep the boat positioned due to the wind. Lots of the locals are chatting about how slow it has been lately too.
  24. I always have a drop shot and a wacky setup rigged because they will always get thrown at some point. If it’s frog season I’ll keep one of those rigged too.
