Food while you fish?
I carry snacks and plenty of water with me. If it’s going to be a long day I also bring something more substantial to eat. I am diabetic, so I have to consider keeping my sugar in good shape while I am out.

Tell me about your Hobie PA
Not to hijack the post, but that camping pic looks right down my alley. Very cool.

Tell me about your Hobie PA
I have a 2014 PA12 that I fished out of for years before I went to a boat. It is great on the water and very stable. Casting is not an issue when seated or standing. I have the bar you can lean into when standing and it is pretty handy. Wind can be a challenge since it has a pretty high profile, but an anchor trolly on each side lets you adjust how you are positioned if you want to stay in a spot for a while. One thing that is a consideration that might not pop in most folks heads is shallow water. When I say shallow, I mean too shallow to peddle because the fins hit the bottom. Paddling a PA is like trying to paddle a barge. It’s ok if you are just trying to position the kayak with the paddle, but a couple of us got caught in shallow water in Mosquito Lagoon and had to paddle into the wind for a pretty good distance. It was rough. Overall, the PA is a fishing machine and I think you would be happy with one.

New Megalodon Blade Bait
This looks pretty good. I may have to grab a couple to try out. Any plans for heavier weights in the future?

Thinking of upgrading my kayak
I have had both paddle and pedal. Pedal was nice and seemed to require less physical effort. I have a PA12. I finally got to the point that I wanted more range to chase the fish, so I bought a boat. I kept the PA12 in case I wanted to do some kayak fishing still, but believe this will be the year I let it go.

The Great Experiment Has Begun
So, does the fisherman with the bye have to sit out fishing for the day, or can they still fish for no score?

Best vendor for Mercury 100 hour kit?
Thank you. That is where I was looking.

Best vendor for Mercury 100 hour kit?
I need to do the 100 hour service on my 75hp Mercury 4 stroke and wanted to know if there is a vendor that people recommend for ordering the kit from?

Jitterbug's
I have had luck with them in some local ponds, but have never really thrown them on the lake or river.

BPS fishing master catalog 2025
I used to flip through these for hours as a little kid. I would imagine having all of the different colors of worms and other soft plastics. Now my son does it too.

While I am not a longtime member here, I certainly have enjoyed your contributions. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you can find the peace and wisdom to take this on.

Helix 10 G2N Map Card Question
It is listing it as a standard definition lake on the legacy download, but it’s not a lake I will be fishing. Chickamauga, Nickajack, and Guntersville are my primary areas that I want the better mapping for.

Helix 10 G2N Map Card Question
Perfect. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

Helix 10 G2N Map Card Question
Will the legacy Lakemaster be better than a new Navionics? I mainly fish Chickamauga and Nickajack, so those are my main concern in finding the best maps.

Helix 10 G2N Map Card Question
I have a Helix 10 G2N that I would like to update to a new map card. It appears that the new Lakemaster cards are not compatible with the G2N models. The new Navionics cards do look like they are compatible. Am I missing anything, or is the Navionics card going to be the only way to have the latest maps?

iCast news?
My fingers are crossed that someone introduces a new whizz bang FFS so I can buy one of the current ones cheaper.

Do you have rules in your boat?
This is me. I am a terrible creature of habit and have to do things in a particular order while I am getting the boat ready to launch.

New member of the "I forgot the drain plug" club, bilge float switch not working
I’ve been there too. Of all times, I decided to fish Chickamauga on Memorial Day. The ramp was crazy and I was in a hurry to get the boat in. Got to my first spot and noticed the boat was sitting a little low in the water and felt a little bouncy. Turned the bilge on and it was a steady stream. That’s when it hit me. Needless to say, that fishing trip became a swimming adventure to get the plug put in.

Lures that work when other similar ones wont.
One way to look at it for me is to consider the great Senko vs Dinger vs The General. All very similar, but the original Senko just seems to outperform the others for me. I don’t know if it would matter throwing them back to back when the fish are biting.

Favorite tackle shop?
In the Chattanooga area it’s hard to beat Jack’s and Talkin’ Tackle. Jack’s has a lot of live bait and a good selection of other tackle. Talkin’ Tackle has a ton of knowledge about the local lakes and river, and a great selection of tackle that works in the area. They also guide on local water and boat a ton of fish.

Source for Crappie Jigheads
I was wondering where everyone is sourcing their jigheads for crappie? I’m looking in the 1/32 and 1/16 range.

All purpose BC reel - Lews Speed Spool LFS or 24 Tatula 100?
Don’t forget the Shimano SLX in that price range too.

Doing your business on the water (#1 and #2...)
I grab the side of the engine with one hand and pee over the side. As for a number 2, I haven’t had any emergencies with that, but I was with a saltwater guide who had one. He stripped down and jumped in the water to do his business. I suppose it just became shrimp food.

Tracker Pro Team 175TXW bow mount graph question
It is an Ultrex. I don’t have the factory cover, so I can’t say if it will clear. It does with my aftermarket cover. I have heard of people having to get a pocket sewn into the factory cover to clear an Ultrex.
